It's been over 70 years since the partition but for those who affected and lost their loved ones, the scars remain. Ali Abbas Zafar's latest 'Bharat' revolves around a family that gets separated during partition.
According to early estimates, ‘Bharat’ earned more than Rs 45 crore on its opening day. The film released in 4700 screens across India.

Salman Khan's jibe at Priyanka Chopra for walking out of 'Bharat' at the last minute to get married to Nick Jonas has not gone down well with certain people on social media.

Salman got embroiled into controversy recently after he took a dig at Priyanka for walking out of `Bharat` to marry Nick Jonas. In an interview to a website, Salman said the makers of the film had offered her to delay the project to work around her schedule, but she still quit the film. He went on to add that actors would leave their husbands to be a part of a film like this.

His comments didn`t go well with a few, including singer Sona Mohapatra."Cus Priyanka Chopra has better things to do in life, real men to hang out with and more importantly, girls to inspire with her journey," Sona tweeted."A showcase and poster child of toxic masculinity. Low brow dig at not only a woman who was not in the room but a disgusting disregard and contempt for the woman and colleague sitting next to him in the same room. Unless we call out such serial bad behaviour, nothing changes, #India," she added. There were others to who called out the actor for his sexist remark.

Salman Khan's jibe at Priyanka Chopra for walking out of 'Bharat' at the last minute to get married to Nick Jonas has not gone down well with certain people on social media.

Salman Khan’s ‘Bharat’ that is slated to release on June 5 went through its ups and down even before the shoot of the film started.
She added, "So, I would not have lunch or hang out with him. It's different with an action film like Tiger (Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai) where you can chat and chill.
On replacing Priyanka in 'Bharat', she said, "Although I wasn't Ali's first choice and it was Priyanka (Chopra), I'm happy it has come to me. When I read the character of Kumud, I felt there's so much I can do in it and I wanted to immerse myself completely into it. I just hope that I keep getting to play such exciting characters which have enough meat in them."

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif make for a dashing couple on 'Bharat' new poster

Ever since it was announced that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is planning a film with Salman Khan after we last saw them together in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, there has been a buzz around the project.

Titled ‘Inshallah’ the film pairs Salman and Alia Bhatt together for the first time.

When this was announced, many spoke on social media about the age-gap between the two and how they were not sold on the idea. Well now we have details on what the two might be doing in the film.

Fresh reports suggest that Salman will play a 40-year-old man while Alia Bhatt will play a younger actress who is in her 20s. The two will eventually romance in the film but the plot would be very different from what we expect. But isn’t that a given, since it’s a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film!

Salman will reportedly play a businessman while Alia will be an actress in the movie. A Mumbai Mirror report quoted a source as saying, “Salman is a businessman in his mid-40s. The character is reminiscent of his turn in his 1997 romcom Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai. Alia plays a 20-something aspiring actress. All the factors, including age gap, have been taken into consideration. The story will justify the teaming up of two actors, from different generations, on a romantic journey.”

The tabloid further reported that the film’s shoot will begin in September and it might be shot in locations like Haridwar, Rishikesh and Varanasi, apart from the US. “The locations under consideration are Haridwar, Rishikesh and Varanasi,” the source informed, adding that Bhansali and his leads will also fly to the US for a major schedule. “The crew was contemplating on several places, including Europe, but settled on the US after several rounds of recce. Salman and Alia will be there in winters,” the source added.

The film will be co-produced by Salman Khan Films and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions.
