The tax was related to a shareholding in YouGov, the polling company he co-founded in 2000 before he became an MP.&nbsp;

He stated that Zahawi would continue as chairman of the Tory Party while the investigation goes on and is willing to "fully co-operate" with officials.

On Thursday, Sunak apologised for a “brief error of judgment” in removing his seatbelt to film a video while driving in north-west England. 
 
“That was a brief error of judgement. The PM removed his seatbelt to film a small clip. He fully accepts this was a mistake and apologises about it,” Sunak's spokesperson said. 
“The Prime Minister believes everyone should wear a seatbelt,” he added.

As per media reports earlier this week the UK Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, is planning to "slim down' the budget in March with no immediate tax cuts.&nbsp;

During a Q&amp;A session in Morecambe, Sunak said that when he was a chancellor he 'preferred it when the prime minister didn't comment on the tax policies.'

Assuring people on taxes, he said, "I am a Conservative. I want to cut your taxes, of course I do, because you all work incredibly hard and I want you to keep more of your money so you can spend it on the stuff that you want to."

He added, "trust me, that’s what I’m going to do for you this year, that’s what we’re going to do while I’m prime minister and if we do those things we will be able to cut your taxes."

Meanwhile, when the decision not to cut taxes was revealed, things didn't go well with Conservative MPs.

The controversial documentary even reached the British Parliament when Pakistan-origin MP Imran Hussain mentioned&nbsp;it in a question to which British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak responded, stating that he "doesn't agree with the characterisation".&nbsp;

"The UK government's position on this has been clear and long-standing and hasn't changed, of course, we don't tolerate persecution where it appears anywhere but I am not sure I agree at all with the characterisation that the honourable gentleman has put forward," Sunak said.&nbsp;

Media reports have mentioned that the documentary included remarks by former UK Secretary Jack Straw, who apparently said that they initiated an inquiry and sent a team to Gujarat to find out what had happened during the riots. As quoted by media outlets, Straw said that "they produced a very thorough report".&nbsp;

Responding to Straw's claims, Bagchi said that "he (Jack Straw) seems to be referring to some internal UK report. How do I have access to that? It's a 20-year-old report."&nbsp;

Bagchi also added that what's the need to jump on it now and why should India give importance to it just because the UK says it?&nbsp;

How much raise are they asking for?

They are asking for a raise that at least matches the double-digit inflation.

In Scotland, teachers were offered a five per cent raise, which they rejected, instead demanding 10 per cent.

Across England and Wales, in 2022, many state-school teachers received a 5 per cent pay raise, while in Northern Ireland, many of them were offered 3.2 per cent for the school years 2021-22, and 2022-23.

However, teacher’s unions argue that with inflation above ten per cent, these meagre raises are essentially pay cuts.

When will the strikes start?

As per Daily Mail, strikes will happen over the course of two months; February and March.

On February 1 itself, thousands of teachers will walk out. This is expected to affect more than 23,000 schools.

The NEU said that each school will only be affected for four days each, however, this has caused concern among the parents.

In recent years, due to the coronavirus pandemic, education globally has suffered, with millions of children’s studies getting negatively affected by Covid restrictions and lockdowns.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The industrial action had been planned on December 15th and 20th across England, Wales and Northern Ireland for 12 hours at a time.&nbsp;

Earlier, striking a confrontational tone, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak vowed that anti-strike laws will be brought in "to protect lives and livelihoods".

Speaking to Daily Mail, Sunak said he was gearing up for a showdown with union leaders and that he hopes they can see that wrecking Christmas isn't right.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Saturday, during a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky,&nbsp;promised to provide tanks and artillery system to Ukraine amid renewed missile attacks by Moscow targeting the Ukrainian capital and other cities.&nbsp;As per an AP report, Britain and Ukraine discussed delivering the Challenger 2 tanks which will help the latter fight the Russian forces.&nbsp;

The office of Sunak had previously said that Britain and its allies would co-ordinate their support after France, Germany and the United States last week indicated that they would send armoured vehicles to Ukraine.&nbsp;

"The prime minister outlined the UK’s ambition to intensify our support to Ukraine, including through the provision of Challenger 2 tanks and additional artillery systems,” said a spokesperson for Sunak.

"They agreed on the need to seize on this moment with an acceleration of global military and diplomatic support to Ukraine,” he added.&nbsp;

A battle tank, Challenger 2, has been designed to counter other tanks and has remained in the service of the British Army since 1994.&nbsp;

"The prime minister and President Zelenskiy welcomed other international commitments in this vein, including Poland’s offer to provide a company of Leopard tanks," said the spokesperson.

British media has reported that four British Army Challenger 2 main battle tanks will be sent to eastern Europe immediately, with eight more to follow shortly after, but&nbsp;did not cite sources.&nbsp;The announcement came several hours after a series of explosions rocked Kyiv on Saturday morning. 
 
Ukrainian president's staff head Andriy Yermak thanked the UK for providing its new defence package.

"This is an important contribution to the defence of freedom and democracy in Europe. We are grateful to Rishi Sunak and the (British) people for their help," he wrote on Twitter.&nbsp;

Nations to provide tanks, military support

French armed forces minister Sebastien Lecornu on Friday had stated that the country plans to send 'AMX 10-RC' light combat tanks to Ukraine in a duration of two months.&nbsp;

Poland had also announced that it will be proving Leopard tanks, as part of an international coalition, to Ukraine.&nbsp;

Polish president Andrzej Duda said, “A company of Leopard tanks will be handed over as part of coalition-building. We want it to be an international coalition."&nbsp;

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has also been facing pressure to provide Kyiv with more international military support by permitting Leopard 2 battle tanks' export to Ukraine.&nbsp;
