Ranveer Singh has proved himself time and again to be a good husband, with all the constant attention he showers on his lady love Deepika Padukone to the social media PDA that we are so used to.

As Deepika walked the Met Gala 2019 pink carpet, she dressed in a bubblegum pink gown and dark lips. She looked like she was ready for ballroom dance with her ball gown though. As her PR and managers started putting up photos of her on her Instagram profile, one of the first people to react to them was husband Ranveer.

In one photo, Ranveer wrote, “LOVE IT !!!!! Smashing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!” and left about a dozen heart emojis. Shaleena, her stylist described Deepika’s look as ‘Camp Barbie’.

Prepping for the role, Ranveer is set to make Delhi his home for the next 10 days. He will live with and train with Kapil Dev so as to pick nuances from Kapil Dev.

Earlier last month, Ranveer started training with Kapil, trying to get action on the field right up to the last mark.

Here's when Ranveer Singh's '83' will hit silver screens

A few months back, we had reported how Will Smith had come to India and even shot for a song sequence in Karan Johar's upcoming film 'Student Of The Year 2'. Smith was on an India tour and posted photos of his visit and even his meet-up with Johar and Ranveer Singh.

Turns out, Smith was here in India to shoot an episode of his web show 'Will Smith's Bucket List'. Smith ticked off a few things during his visit- driving an auto-rickshaw, visiting Hardiwar and dancing in a big Bollywood movie.

The episode features Smith interacting with Singh who sort of teaches him the basics of Hindi cinema along with Johar. Singh can be seen introducing Smith to a typical Hero's entry in the film with one of Singh's popular songs 'Tatad Tatad' from the film 'Ram Leela' and even recreates the iconic 'Ma' scene from the film Deewar to school Smith about Bollywood.

The Hollywood star even rehearsed his dance steps before shooting wioth the cast of SOTY2 that includes Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. The episode was even shared by Karan Johar.

Will's show 'Bucket List' has him going real-life adventures in each of the episodes, where he tries to complete everything he wants to do in life as his ‘bucket list’.

My friend WILL SMITH ticks off his BUCKET LIST in BOLLYWOOD! This is the most entertaining and heartening video you will see today! Will Smith is all heart and such a beautiful curious mind! Watch out for @RanveerOfficial and team #soty2 https://t.co/Jk50iBdIkj — Karan Johar (@karanjohar) April 3, 2019 × Will's show 'Bucket List' has him going real-life adventures in each of the episodes, where he tries to complete everything he wants to do in life as his ‘bucket list’. AR Rahman wants to work for Ranveer Singh's recording label, the actor's reaction is priceless

While Ranveer Singh is doing all it takes to train to play cricket like veteran star Kapil Dev for his next film ‘83’, there’s someone else too who is quite peaked for the film.

A source close to the production told IANS, “Amiya is just out of college. As of now, it looks like she just wants to explore different things like most bright people do. She is very helpful to us, she knows the subject, she knows all the cricketers and she has access to all of them. She is also very willing to learn.”

While Ranveer Singh is doing all it takes to train to play cricket like veteran star Kapil Dev for his next film ‘83’, there’s someone else too who is quite peaked for the film. Kapil Dev’s daughter, Amiya has turned assistant director for the film as it delves into the historic win for India at 1983 Cricket World Cup. A source close to the production told IANS, “Amiya is just out of college. As of now, it looks like she just wants to explore different things like most bright people do. She is very helpful to us, she knows the subject, she knows all the cricketers and she has access to all of them. She is also very willing to learn.” View this post on Instagram Training begins... #83 #kapildev @ranveersingh @83thefilm #balwindersinghsandhu A post shared by Kabir Khan (@kabirkhankk) on Jan 12, 2019 at 3:14am PST × View this post on Instagram #Repost @minimathur ・・・ The most amazing wintery evening spent chatting about the 1983 World Cup victory with the warmest & fun hosts ever - Romi & Kapil Dev #83 #legend #kapildev A post shared by Kabir Khan (@kabirkhankk) on Dec 25, 2018 at 11:21pm PST × The film is presented by Reliance Entertainment.
Come April, Bollywood will be gearing up for another high-profile wedding. According to media reports, Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora are all set to tie the knot in April. Rumours of their impending wedding have been doing the rounds for sometime now and it seems the couple has zeroed in on a date. Malaika and Arjun are reportedly set to tie the knot on 19th April 2019.

Preparations have already begun but the couple is maintaining absolute silence on the matter. The couple has often been spotted on dates but have officially not confirmed their relationship. Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora to get married on this day in April?

Hip-hop music is not new to India but it has surely become mainstream after the release of the widely successful film ‘Gully Boy’ starring Ranveer Singh as a street rapper from Mumbai who makes it big because of his passion for music or as Sky, Kalki Koechlin’s character in the film tells him to follow his “junoon and money will follow”.

While Zoya Akhtar’s film explored Mumbai’s rap culture inspired by the life story of two popular street rappers, Divine and Naezy, through their struggles of poverty, crime, family drama and love -- Delhi’s rapper Raftaar wants to shed light on a different narrative. Massively popular for Hindi songs like ‘Baby Marvake Maanegi’ and ‘Gall Goriye’, Raftaar is happy about rap finally getting recognised in India by way of its cinema.

On ‘Gully Boy’ he said, “These guys (Zoya) definitely got inspired from that fact that rappers made a mark for themselves. We are not counted as singers like everybody, we are in a different league, and we are known for different stuff. This movie is for the Bombay hip-hop scene. I come from the Delhi hip-hop scene. The stories, their slangs, they are all different. If a normal guy from Bombay comes to Delhi and starts singing ‘Bantai Bachi Bamai’, it’s a Bombay slang, they won't get it. They won't understand what he’s trying to say. So it’s that..the connectivity.”

He continued, “If the entire population would have spoken Hindi then this would have been huge. Problem is, we don't understand the Tamil people up north and they don't understand the Punjabis there. Probably, rappers and singers from both the regions are trying to say something that is necessary for everyone to hear but it’s not happening because of the difference in language and culture in such a small area.”

Also read: Indian-American rapper Raja Kumari to WION: One day I will bring a Grammy home

As the music genre grows popular amongst the youth of the country, Raftaar explains that the one in India is distinctive from the one we have heard from international stars like Eminem and Tupac. He commented, “It's definitely going to be different. Their roots were different like their struggles and ours was different. We initially started off looking at the Western guys and trying to copy them. Most of us kids back then, I am an 88’ born guy, so from my generation everybody either wanted to be a Tupac, Biggie or Eminem.”

He added, “Now the situation has changed. With all these years, all of us doing Hindi, Punjabi and regional, a movie on rap etc-- the idols have changed. Now people have started doing stories that are based out of India. Hip-hop has now become Indian in a way.”

Raftaar does not identify himself with lyrics that only has ‘girls, parties and drugs’, something Bollywood party hip-hop songs are infamous for. Even though he has collaborated previously with artists that made music on similar themes, the rapper of late believes he has diversified.

With songs of ‘Manto’ and ‘Andhadhun’ in his kitty, Raftaar said, “I am a 100 per cent, a socially-conscious singer. I am a very balanced person. I believe in the property of yin and yang. You have to receive the balance in the centre when you are a musician and an entrepreneur, somebody who is in the business of it. I am not doing this just for the art of it.”

Listen to 'Mantoiyat' here:

He explained, “Then I would have opted for stage and theatre. I am doing because a part of it has to sell, just to deal with my responsibilities and my family. You must have seen that I don't release a lot of songs because I say no to a lot of stuff that comes my way.”

Meanwhile, with ‘Gully Boy’ continuing to mint money at the box office as the film plot gets lauds from the critics and audiences alike, was any rapper’s story also influenced by his in the film? Raftaar gave an affirmative “no”.

He did, however, confirm on being approached and said, “We spoke about it, there was something supposed to happen but then I got busy with stuff and our dates couldn’t match.”

Raftaar is currently busy with TV show MTV Roadies. Featuring in the show as a judge along with Neha Dhupia, Rannvijay, Prince Narula, Nikhil Chinappa and real-life hero Sandeep Singh; the rapper has his hands full at the moment. When asked why he opted for an action-oriented show instead of one related to his area of work, he said, “I have never put myself in a box. I started off as an athlete then I went into music. I did ‘Dance India Dance’, ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja’, and now this. I have never wanted to put myself in a frame. These days I am directing small videos for my team. So I would like to try everything that comes my way and is creative.”

So it’s that..the connectivity.” He continued, “If the entire population would have spoken Hindi then this would have been huge. Problem is, we don't understand the Tamil people up north and they don't understand the Punjabis there. Probably, rappers and singers from both the regions are trying to say something that is necessary for everyone to hear but it’s not happening because of the difference in language and culture in such a small area.” Also read: Indian-American rapper Raja Kumari to WION: One day I will bring a Grammy home As the music genre grows popular amongst the youth of the country, Raftaar explains that the one in India is distinctive from the one we have heard from international stars like Eminem and Tupac. He commented, “It's definitely going to be different. Their roots were different like their struggles and ours was different. We initially started off looking at the Western guys and trying to copy them. Most of us kids back then, I am an 88’ born guy, so from my generation everybody either wanted to be a Tupac, Biggie or Eminem.” He added, “Now the situation has changed. With all these years, all of us doing Hindi, Punjabi and regional, a movie on rap etc-- the idols have changed. Now people have started doing stories that are based out of India. Hip-hop has now become Indian in a way.” Raftaar does not identify himself with lyrics that only has ‘girls, parties and drugs’, something Bollywood party hip-hop songs are infamous for. I am not doing this just for the art of it.” Listen to 'Mantoiyat' here: He explained, “Then I would have opted for stage and theatre. I am doing because a part of it has to sell, just to deal with my responsibilities and my family. You must have seen that I don't release a lot of songs because I say no to a lot of stuff that comes my way.” Meanwhile, with ‘Gully Boy’ continuing to mint money at the box office as the film plot gets lauds from the critics and audiences alike, was any rapper’s story also influenced by his in the film? Raftaar gave an affirmative “no”. He did, however, confirm on being approached and said, “We spoke about it, there was something supposed to happen but then I got busy with stuff and our dates couldn’t match.” Raftaar is currently busy with TV show MTV Roadies. So I would like to try everything that comes my way and is creative.” View this post on Instagram Yahan apni gang bacha ke chalna padta hai. 🤣🤣 @mtvroadies @mtvindia @nikhilchinapa @princenarula @sandeep_rebirth @rannvijaysingha . 📸 @rjdeigg #raa #raftaar @akprojekts #positive #blessed #peace #thankful A post shared by RAFTAAR (@raftaarmusic) on Mar 14, 2019 at 5:48am PDT × He continued, “Apart from Roadies, I am dropping an album which is completely hip-hop.” Raftaar also has an NGO of his own.
The film that brought India's underground hip-hop culture to the mainstream, 'Gully Boy' is soon going to have a sequel. The film's director Zoya Akhtar has confirmed that a sequel of the hugely popular film is already in the works.

Akhtar while speaking to a daily said, "My co-writer Reema Kagti and I do feel there’s so much more to be said on the entire hip-hop culture in our country. And another film exploring the theme is being scripted and planned." Read the review of 'Gully Boy'here.

Akhtar though mentioned that the cast and crew have not been finalised yet. Akhtar though is clear that the film will not have her brother, actor-director Farhan Akhtar in it. Also read: 'Gully Boy' defies Muslim stereotypes in Bollywood movies

Interestingly, 'Gully Boy' was Zoya’s first film that did not star Farhan. The actor was part of the film as a producer. On why she didn’t cast him in the movie, she said, “He just didn’t fit into 'Gully Boy'. And we’re both sorry about it. Also, his image from the 'Rock On' series is affiliated to an entirely different genre of music. On why she didn’t cast him in the movie, she said, “He just didn’t fit into 'Gully Boy'. And we’re both sorry about it. Also, his image from the 'Rock On' series is affiliated to an entirely different genre of music.
By any standards, 'Gully Boy' is a brilliant film. It is well written, taut and acting by Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and rest of the cast was effortless. 'Gully Boy' represents a new age cinema where music, subversion, social struggle and lust to survive the harsh reality of modern urban life - all comes together.

Almost 90 per cent of the important characters of the film are Muslims. This only provides a context for the film and does not become a driving force for the characters in the drama. The struggle of Safeena Firdausi, a character played by Alia Bhatt, remains universal. Her struggle to enjoy late night parties and indulge in make-up could that be of any Lakshmi from a Hindu household or Harpreet Kaur from a Sikh family. Her love, possessiveness for Murad and temper tantrum is not shown as a result of her past or upbringing but presented as a fact of her personality. Safeena kisses but it is not eroticised. She does not come out as an exotic Muslim female out of a closet.

Even in the case of Murad, his quest to survive, love and struggle flow from confidence in himself and his talent. Bollywood films on Muslims, most of the times, end up creating dark-eyed stereotypes of Muslims who are either motivated by religious indoctrination or sense of victimhood and marginalisation from the political mainstream.

It leads to the creation of a Muslim as a familiar exotic in the current political narrative. A homogenous mass with a singular entity. The film shatters this narrative. Murad does not drink but it doesn’t mean he is a conservative. Booze is not used to demonstrate his creative depth. He smokes which is permissible in his religious context but does not typify him as a Muslim.

In this film, the victimhood is portrayed as a matter of fact and does not flow from religion. When Murad’s father Aftab Shakir, played by Vijay Raaz, tells Murad that it is very difficult to get a job as a Muslim, it comes as a statement of fact.

The film does not have good Muslims or bad Muslims. The Muslims are similar to Hindus and Sikhs married to their vices and desire. Murad’s father is insensitive, and Sher’s (Siddhant Chaturvedi) father is a raging alcoholic and, in both, the common thread is poverty and life on margins. This interplay between poverty and plenty makes this film different, which is summed up brilliantly in the song, 'paas hokar bhee door hain.'

Even the second marriage of Murad’s father is less to do with the number of marriages prescribed in Islam but more to do with lust, infidelity, patriarchy and man-woman relationship. It is not what without significance that in a scene, Murad’s mother Razia openly shouts back at Aftab he should not crib to her about her frigidness as he never knew how to touch her.

The scene, which could have been shot by a posh couple, shatters the myth of man-woman issues based on class.

'Gully Boy' neither glamourise poverty nor celebrates it. It is presented as a matter of fact. The movie is inspired by real-life characters but is completely a work of fiction.

Kalki Koechlin's character could have been more fleshed out. The film presents the crushing reality of living in Mumbai but also shows the spirit of an individual which can be uncrushable. The soundtrack rocks and so does the film.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh made for an ultra-glamorous couple at a recently held awards show. The two bagged the Beautiful Couple Of The Year title as Bollywood celebs looked on and cheered them.

While Deepika chose a black saree with what looked like a modern take at the good-old blouse, she kept her makeup nude with skin-coloured lipstick, minimal bronzer and blush on her cheeks. Ranveer, on the other hand, appeared at the awards night in a bright pink and orange, flower-printed three-piece suit and similar hued shades.

The two struck a pose as they shared some images together, in addition to their individually-styled pics on Instagram.

Ranveer Singh's ‘Gully Boy’ earns Rs 72.45 crore within four days of its release

The 'Gully Boy' fever is here to stay. Helmed by Zoya Akhtar, the film may be centered around Ranveer Singh's character Murad but Akhtar and co-writer Reema Kagti have weaved into the story several other memorable characters- each leaving a lasting impression. Be it Murad's parents played by Vijay Raaz and Amruta Subhash or Murad's mentor MC Sher played by debutant Siddhant Chaturvedi or Murad's friend Moeen played by Vijay Varma- all the actors have delivered top performances.

While Varma is not new to cinema, his moment under the sun has only come now. He made heads turn as the vile Ankit in 'Pink' a few years back which opened doors(read film offers) for him but it is the portrayal as the tough nut Moeen in Akhtar's film that has truly made people sit up and take note of his talent. Read the film's review here.

Varma states it took him time to understand his character. " It took a lot of introspection to understand who Moeen is, to be honest," said Varma during a chat with WION. "He is a car mechanic who is also a peddler but there is a lot going on there. He is part of a lot of enterprises but nobody knows exactly what he does. He is very deceptive."

Varma who had to audition for his role said that it was Zoya and Ranveer Singh who helped him to get in the character. "Zoya have me the brief of the character well. She said 'Moeen is a survivor, a rat, can even survive a volcano. He makes things happen for himself but he doesn’t have any place to go to.' That information was very crucial for me."

Varma recalls how Ranveer, with whom he had all his scenes, helped him to improvise in certain scenes. "While rehearsing the scene where the boys are at the Benetton store, my lines were simple. '10 lakh ke liye toh Moeen bhai rap karenga, tum log sab baaju waaju hatt jao’. Ranveer said, 'Moeen should break into a gig- which I thought was a great suggestion. So I went back home, prepared something in my head and came for the shoot- now Moeen doesn’t know a word of English, he doesn’t understand a word of what these guys do but understand the rhythm. I am personally a fan of Snoop Dogg, so I decided to mix his style and deliver the lines with some sound effects like 'Waao waao' and everyone had a good laugh over it- which was eventually captured in the scene" recalls the actor. He says that while dialogue writer Vijay Maurya wrote the perfect lines for a story like that, Zoya gave the actors a lot of room for improvisation. Also read: Ranveer Singh's ‘Gully Boy’ earns Rs 72.45 crore within four days of its release

All of Varma's scenes were with Singh in the film. Varma says Singh had gone into that zone of his character while shooting for 'Gully Boy'. "I met Murad on the sets every day while we were shooting and not Ranveer Singh. I am not exaggerating about this. I saw the energetic Ranveer only at the wrap party. He was inquisitive, underplayed his role and between the shots remained in character- shy and reserved."

Varma also credits Akhtar for her writing which made each of the characters stand out. "Almost all her films have multiple characters and they are all very well written. I couldn’t have asked for a better film with Zoya really." said Varma in retrospect.

The actor who has featured in critically acclaimed films like 'Monsoon Shootout' and 'Raagdesh' in the past, admits that he is selective when it comes to choosing roles. "I have certain filmmakers in mind with whom I want to work, certain stories that they narrate I want to be a part of. Also, I am not very conventional in the way I appear or the way I think, so I ensure I'm with those people who think on the same level. Rather than going into a genre where people don’t trust me with, want to roles where people have faith in me and my abilities."

The actor though admits that lines between art house and commercial cinema are blurring. "Glad it is happening now, while I am in my primes. I can only be happier. I have grown up on a staple diet of some great cinema from across the world and witnessed some great performances so I’d like to do that. I am playing for the long run. I am here for that.
Zoya Akhtar's latest movie 'Gully Boy' has opened to great reviews from fans and critics alike. And while people have been lauding the actors, the film courted controversy days prior to its release due to the song 'Azadi'.

There was a debate on social media about the change in the lyrics of 'Azadi', which musician Dub Sharma created in 2016 after student leader Kanhaiya Kumar made the slogan popular during a protest in Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University.

The lyrics had words such as 'Aazadi... Manuvaad se', Aazadi Brahmanvaad se', but these lines are missing in the 'Gully Boy' track which has tweaked the original. Zoya said they changed the lyrics to suit the context of the film and its character.

"My story is about class, about feeling oppressed by your class. It is about economic disparity, the divide between rich and poor. It represents the point of view of my character and his engagement with the society, his socio-economic space and his anger. My film is not about the caste system or JNU."

The director was speaking to a news agency ahead of the film's release. Freedom, Akhtar said, is a word that was used way before JNU and will continue to be used.

"It has been used for women's movement, for caste disparity, against the system and whatever the oppressed community feels strongly about... But it would have been fake on my part if I had just taken the original song and monetised it."

The woman behind 'Dil Dhadakne Do', which explored varied relationships of the rich and mighty on a cruise ship, and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', about three friends on a road trip through Spain, has gone over to the other side with her 'Gully Boy' that talks about Mumbai's hip hop scene.

The Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt starrer examines how street music becomes a way for struggling urban youth to project their anger in a system where the odds are stacked against them.

"Frankly, there is no voice in the mainstream that represents the urban youth and that's what attracted me to the story. Their rap is conscious of its space and it is conscious of where it exists. It is honest, truthful and personal. They are the artistes who speak about their socio-economic space, about the system and how it treats them," Zoya told PTI in an interview.

The 46-year-old says she grew up listening to classic hip-hop artistes such as Tupac Shakur, 50 Cent and Eminem but the mainstream Indian hip-hop scene never attracted her until she chanced upon a track by Divine and Naezy.

The story of the two rappers from the chawls of Kurla in Mumbai serves as the inspiration for 'Gully Boy', played by Ranveer Singh.

Zoya says she realised she could use hip-hop to tell a larger story about urban youth and their frustrations.

"There are youngsters who are kind of frustrated because they are not even allowed to pursue their dreams... They have to figure out how they get by in their day-to-day life. There is a huge population that falls in this bracket and hip-hop resonates with them."

Zoya says she does not concern herself with how people bracket her as a filmmaker. As a filmmaker, she is drawn to conflicts.

"At the end of my life, I want to have a body of work that has everything. My next job is for Amazon and again it is about rich people, wedding planning. I want to do all kind of films. I don't want to be bracketed into one kind of cinema and if somebody does that, then it is on them," she said.

According to Zoya, if you are good at your job and resonate emotionally with people and there are conflicts that you can connect to, your work will find its audience. "Ultimately, we are all human beings and the rest is just the backdrop," she said.

The story of an underprivileged artiste finding his path through hip-hop led to some comparisons with Eminem's '8 Mile', but Zoya dismisses speculation that her film has anything to do with the Hollywood movie.

"When 'Zindagi' was coming out, everybody said that it is 'Hangover'. I got very upset at that time but then it released and everyone forgot about it. I understand the comparison with '8 Mile' because that's their only reference point. Also, he comes from the underprivileged space and the rap battle, the tropes are similar. But there is no similarity."

The Central Board of Film Certification is at it again. One of the most anticipated films of the season, Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' has run into trouble with the Censor board.

According to media reports, CBFC has makers to shorten a kissing scene featuring the film's leads Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. It has further directed the makers to omit a close-up shot of the scene as well.
Reports state that the 13 seconds that have been snipped have been replaced with a wider shot.

The board has made four other changes in the film including removal of the name Royal Stag, an alcohol brand, which is incidentally the film's brand partner. It is perhaps for the first time that the Censor board has removed a brand partner's name from the film. The board has also beeped out cuss words.

This is not the first time that the Indian Censor Board has played the moral police. Earlier, when Pahlaj Nihalani was the chief of the board, several Indian and International films faced arbitrary cuts. CBFC is now headed by adman and lyricist Prasoon Joshi.

'Gully Boy' world premiere opens to 'biggest cheers' at Berlin film festival

Actor Ranveer Singh said India could be on the cusp of a musical revolution with the kind of Hindustani hip-hop that is the subject of his new movie premiering at the Berlin Film Festival.

"Gully Boy", directed by India's Zoya Akhtar, tells the fictional tale of Murad (Singh), a student who lives in a slum and ends up temporarily substituting for his injured father as chauffeur for a wealthy family.

He discovers a talent for rapping and uses it to vent his anger about poverty and the chasm between rich and poor, writing lines about babies cowering next to skyscrapers and wealthy people's cars being big as poor people's homes.

"This film is something that takes a genre of music that has essentially been underground in India so far and brings it to the mainstream," Singh said.

"I want this to be the beginning of something because I really think Hindustani hip-hop is a revolution. It's more than just music. It's a musical and social revolution," he said.

Singh said he grew up listening to rap music and it "feels amazing" to have recorded five songs for the film's soundtrack.

The coming-of-age film depicts a young man who refuses to accept what his father has taught him - that he cannot afford big dreams and should get a stable office job - and who defies class conventions by secretly dating Safeena (Alia Bhatt), a doctor's daughter.

Safeena is confident and violently attacks potential love rivals while Murad is a more sensitive and reserved character.

"Traditionally our films and gender dynamics are structured very differently," Singh said. "So that's an aspect of our film that we're very proud of."

He said he initially wanted to become an actor to be a virtuous hero with big muscles who beats other men up and stands up for what is right, but Akhtar had brought out a part of him on screen that was usually reserved for his friends and family.

"Zoya kind of very literally and metaphorically peels away all of those layers to kind of tap into a very real, very authentic side of me ... a little bit more quiet, more reserved, more introverted and more internally feeling sensitive, vulnerable," he said.

The movie - shot in Mumbai - features slum dwellers picking through rubbish, abandoned children preparing drugs to earn their keep and homes made from corrugated iron alongside wealthy Indians attending posh parties, modern skyscrapers and a group of camera-wielding British tourists visiting a slum.
