"He is going for dialysis three times a week. As an elder brother, I am not in a position to see the suffering he is facing. I have to be away from home when the doctors come home for the dialysis. There has not been a single day that I have not hoped it may not be my younger brother," said Satwinderpal Singh, who has also acted as a mentor to Prabhsimran along with his own sons Anmolpreet Singh and Tejpreet Singh.
While Prabhsimran is ruling the whole nation with his bat, his uncle and father are watching his performance sitting in front of the TV at Patiala. In fact, when Surjit sees his son Prabhsimran hitting a rash shot, he screams in front of the TV telling that he should play cautiously.
"Before every <a href="https://www.wionews.com/tags/punjab-kings">Punjab Kings</a> match, I bring him to the living room. We watch the game together, and whenever the camera lands on Simmu, he smiles. If Simmu scores a goal, he keeps smiling and laughing. He does not remember that he is in pain at the moment. If Simmu shoots a careless shot, he shouts, 'khotte aaram naal khel (play sensibly).
When Prabsimran video called his father after the 91-run innings against Lucknow, he was scolded by Surjit for not completing the ton.&nbsp;"Simmu video called on Monday morning to take an update about Surjit. The one-man show from Prabhsimran, who clinched his maiden IPL century, helped Punjab Kings to post 167/7 against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday.

Tight bowling from DC bowlers, especially at the start of the innings, restricted PBKS to a feasible target to chase. Ishant Sharma was the pick of the bowler from the Delhi side, he took two wickets by conceding just 27 runs. Axar Patel, Praveen Dubey, Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar got one scalp each. Put to bat, PBKS did not get the ideal start as they lost wickets in the early stage of the innings.

Prabhsimran's outstanding innings ended in the penultimate over when Mukesh Kumar got him at the leg stump.

Mumbai Indians bowler Arjun Tendulkar, who took his maiden wicket recently against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, added another wicket to his name against Punjab Kings off a brilliant yorker.

Bowling his second and the innings seventh over, Tendulkar bowled a pin-point toe-crushing yorker to dangerous looking Prabhsimran Singh who was batting at 26 off 17. Upon completing his maiden IPL fifty, Simran thanked God and showered praises on his fellow opener and Punjab captain, Shikhar Dhawan for backing him throughout.&nbsp;

“I’m very thankful to God for my first fifty in five years of playing the IPL. It was an enjoyable knock, and I hope to continue like this,” Simran told Jitesh Sharma in a video posted by IPL on its social media handles.

Whenever we spoke to each other while batting, he told me to play my natural game and express myself, the rest I’ll handle,” Prabhsimran added.

Speaking about what changed for him this season or what is the secret behind his little success so far, the right-hander said that working hard on both fronts – batting and wicket-keeping, brought him laurels.

“There are no secrets (to his recent consistency), but there’s a lot of preparation around my fitness, batting and wicket-keeping. I try and practice in the nets just like I would in a match,” he added.

Meanwhile, Punjab will now take on struggling SunRisers Hyderabad in an away game on April 9th on Sunday.

In contrast, Yuvraj was sold for Rs one crore by Mumbai late in the day having got a deal of Rs 14 crore by the RCB in 2014.
