While the network would like to continue filming the drama, which boasts of a stellar cast including Oscar-winning stars Meryl Streep, Reese Witherspoon, and Nicole Kidman along with Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz and Laura Dern, the likelihood of it coming back is not on the cards, reported People.<br />
<br />
Ruling out the possibility of the show coming back for season 3, HBO president Casey Bloys said it is "not realistic."<br />
<br />
"I love this group of people. I would do anything with them," Bloys told TVLine recently when asked about the prospect of renewal.<br />
<br />
"But the reality is they are some of the busiest actresses working in Hollywood. We have deals with some of them, Nicole Kidman is doing her next show 'The Undoing' with us. I just think it's not realistic," Bloys told the outlet, as cited by People.<br />
<br />
He said with a laugh, "Look if they all came to me and said, 'We worked out all of our schedules!' then sure. Season 2 was a chance for everyone involved to end the franchise in a way that feels satisfying."<br />
<br />
At the Television Critics Association tour earlier this year, the show's writer David E. Kelley shared that he had only thought as far as season 2.<br />
<br />
"There's no such plan now. We like our closure at season 2 that will probably be it," Kelley said.<br />
<br />
Kidman and Witherspoon too pointed out that a similar conversation happened after season 1 wrapped up.<br />
<br />
"That's what you said last time!" said Kidman.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"Yeah, you sat there and said the same thing!" added Witherspoon.<br />
<br />
"There's no plan for it. This was a long shoot for us, an enormous amount of work, we're amazed we can be here," Kidman clarified.<br />
<br />
The first season, based on the book of the same name by author Liane Moriarty, revolved around wealthy mothers in Northern California whose children attend the same school.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The second season was never supposed to happen as the first one covered Moriarty's entire book, but Kelley changed his mind after first season's success and Streep agreed to join the cast.<br />
<br />
"Last season, we didn't close the chapter. It ended on a very open note of what's going to happen next. What will happen in these relationships? There was a lot of fertile storytelling to mine. Is the storytelling going to be compelling enough to rise to the first year," Kelley said at TCA.<br />
<br />
"Everybody up here can get jobs, we didn't want to do this unless we could have a fair shot of living up to the bar we set in year one," he added.<br />

<p>Emma, a high school senior in Indiana who isn't allowed to take her girlfriend to the prom, becomes their cause to champion.&nbsp;<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br />
Along with Ryan, it will be co-produced by Alexis Woodall, Bill Damaschke, and Dori Berinstein.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin are on the script with music and lyrics by Beguelin and Matthew Sklar. The original concept is by Jack Viertel.</p>

<p>The remake is tentatively scheduled for a 2020 autumn release in theatres before it comes out on the streaming platform.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As Hollywood stalwart Meryl Streep turned 70 on Saturday (June 22), the actress was showered with love and wishes from colleagues and fans across the world.&nbsp;<br />

The three-time Oscar winner received sweet wishes from Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern, two of her co-stars on HBO`s popular show `Big Little Lies`.<br />
<br />
Streep joined the cast for season two, which began earlier this month, playing Nicole Kidman`s character Celeste`s mother-in-law Mary Louise, who is not a fan of Witherspoon`s character Madeline.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Of course, in real life, it`s nothing but love between the two women."Happy Birthday, Meryl. Sending so much birthday love to this talented creature! What a privilege and an honour to work with you on @biglittlelies," Witherspoon wrote, alongside a beautiful throwback photo of Streep.</p>

<p>Season one of `Big Little Lies` told a complete story and was based on author Liane Moriarty`s book of the same name.&nbsp;<br />

The first season of the show tells the story of Woodley`s character, a single mother who struggles financially and the trouble she gets into when she moves to a California neighbourhood that is full of wealthy families.</p>

<p>She befriends Kidman and Witherspoon`s characters, who also have kids at the school that Woodley`s son is enrolled at, but from there drama and chaos ensue with other mothers in the area.<br />

The second season is based off a novella by Moriarty who imagined what the characters would be doing after the events of the first season.For the unversed, the events include a fight between Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Renata (Laura Dern), Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz), Jane (Shailene Woodley) and Celeste`s husband Perry (Alexander Skarsgard).<br />

The fight at the school charity function ended with Bonnie pushing Perry, ultimately to his death and now the group of women is dealing with feelings of grief and guilt.<br />

<p>Remember 2008 release, <em>Mamma Mia!</em> that had Meryl Streep give another peppy performance with Amanda Seyfried as her daughter? The film now gets it sequel as the trailer for the new film released on May 8. The new film is titled <em>Mamma</em><em> Mia! Here We Again.</em>&nbsp;</p>

<p>First things first, we’re a little sceptical about the film as we have a hunch that Meryl Streep might not make it to the film even though there are reports that the veteran actor will reprise her role as there are a few glimpses of her in the trailer. What brings us to this question is the fact that she is not there in any of the big events of her daughter, Sophie’s life in the film -- when she gets pregnant or there to greet any of her lovers and Sophie’s possible father-- Sam (Pierce Brosnan), Harry (Colin Firth), and Bill (Stellan Skarsgård).&nbsp;</p>

<p>But there’s one thing we are very excited about and that is the entry of American actress and singer Cher that will play the role of Donna’s (Meryl Streep’s) mother in the film. And what a style!</p>

<p>The 75th annual Golden Globes is expected to turn up the heat Sunday night with Hollywood A-listers looking forward to using&nbsp;the award ceremony for voicing their concerns and of course showing up in their best.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While 2017 saw the ugly side of Hollywood up front, the year also saw the release of some of the most mind-boggling movies with great scripts and incredible performances delivered by artists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now that Golden Globes is a few days away, we round up pre-Oscars prize-giving ceremony in the form of 10 fun-filled facts:&nbsp;</p>

'Time's Up': Women in Hollywood join hands to fight against sexual harassment

<p>Veteran actor Meryl Streep has responded to Rose McGowan&#39;s critical remarks against herself and other actors who plan to protest sexual harassment by wearing black to this year&#39;s Golden Globes.<br />

McGowan had called out Streep on yesterday for working with producer Harvey Weinstein despite his reputation as a sexual predator and condemned their form of protest.</p>

<p>In her response, Streep said she &quot;wasn&#39;t deliberately silent&quot; in Weinstein&#39;s treatment of women in Hollywood because she did not know it was happening.<br />

&quot;It hurt to be attacked by Rose McGowan in banner headlines this weekend, but I want to let her know I did not know about Weinstein&#39;s crimes, not in the &#39;90s when he attacked her, or through subsequent decades when he proceeded to attack others.<br />

&quot;I wasn&#39;t deliberately silent. I didn&#39;t know. I don&#39;t tacitly approve of rape. I didn&#39;t know. I don&#39;t like young women being assaulted. I didn&#39;t know this was happening,&quot; Streep said in a statement to the Huffington Post.<br />

The 68-year-old actor added that not everyone who worked with Weinstein knew the depth of accusations against him.<br />

More often than not, the name they request is Florence Foster Jenkins, an American socialite who only appeared at the legendary venue once, and couldn&#39;t hold a note.<br />

&quot;In order for a singer to succeed, they need to have a combination of talent, charisma, and interpretive quality,&quot; Carnegie&#39;s archives director Gino Francesconi wrote in a blog post commemorating her life.<br />
<br />
&quot;And, by definition, they need to be able to sing. Florence Foster Jenkins had none of these attributes. In fact, she was considered one of the worst singers of all time.&quot;<br />
<br />
Jenkins, who craved fame as a diva but gained infamy for her terrible voice, is the subject of &quot;Florence Foster Jenkins,&quot; a bittersweet biopic which hits US theaters this week, starring three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.<br />

More often than not, the name they request is Florence Foster Jenkins, an American socialite who only appeared at the legendary venue once, and couldn't hold a note. "In order for a singer to succeed, they need to have a combination of talent, charisma, and interpretive quality," Carnegie's archives director Gino Francesconi wrote in a blog post commemorating her life. "And, by definition, they need to be able to sing. Florence Foster Jenkins had none of these attributes. In fact, she was considered one of the worst singers of all time." Jenkins, who craved fame as a diva but gained infamy for her terrible voice, is the subject of "Florence Foster Jenkins," a bittersweet biopic which hits US theaters this week, starring three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant. "She almost gets it, and that's what I found delicious in her," Streep told the audience at a preview screening for the Paramount picture in Beverly Hills last week. "I started listening to the recordings and I could feel her getting really excited and her thinking 'This is going very well,'" said the actress. Jenkins, who inherited a fortune from her father in 1909, had to give up her beloved piano due to nerve damage from syphilis contracted from her first husband when she was just a teenager. She used her wealth to indulge her passion for opera singing instead, putting on grand artistic soirees for polite society at the Ritz-Carlton, the Waldorf and other upscale Manhattan venues. 'None ever felt inclined to tell her she was terrible' Those who heard her - often acquaintances rather than paying members of the public - knew she was a terrible singer but none ever felt inclined to tell her. "It became a thing to do. You had to go and listen to Florence Foster screw up every song she attempted to sing," says Francesconi. She was persuaded to make her Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 76 on October 25, 1944 and walked onstage in flamboyant homemade costumes, throwing roses into the sell-out crowd. The concert went as poorly as had every other recital, but this time Jenkins was not among friends. Henry Simon of the daily newspaper PM described the audience's laughter as "the cruellest and least civilized behavior I have ever witnessed in Carnegie Hall." But a less charitable write-up in the Los Angeles Times described the performance as the "most pathetic exhibition of vanity I have ever seen." The singer's common-law husband, failed Shakespearean actor St. Clair Bayfield hadn't approved of the concert, and wrote after her death that it had "turned out the fiasco I expected." "Afterward, when we went home, Florence was upset - and when she read the reviews, crushed. She had not known, you see," he added. Diagnosed with heart strain, she died a month later. Directed by Stephen Frears ("Philomena," "The Queen"), the movie was shot in London and Liverpool, a city in northwestern England whose architecture is said to resemble that of 1940s Manhattan. 'Funny and moving' "I thought it was a very special kind of gift, an adventure, to look into the life of someone who had no understanding of how she presented, except to hope that it went well," said Streep, 67. Grant - whose acting had taken a back seat to campaigning in Britain for tighter regulation of the country's famously rowdy tabloid press - was in semi-retirement, "having a baby a week, basically," when he was asked to play Bayfield. "Stephen, who I knew a bit through the politics, started to make noises about a film. I thought he was joking and then suddenly this script appeared on my desk from him," said the actor, who has fathered four children since turning 50. "Not only was it funny and moving, but it was also directed by him - he's quite classy - and Meryl bloody Streep was going to be in it so I absolutely had to say yes." Grant spent a year researching Bayfield's diaries and letters, and believes the historical figure may have been more straightforward, and less bright, than the character he ended up portraying. "The appeal of the film to me, and I think maybe to Stephen Frears as well, is that lots of things within it don't fit into normal boxes," the 55-year-old Briton told AFP. "So you can't decide if Bayfield's a goodie or a baddie and, equally, you can't quite decide are we laughing with these people or at them.
