Britain's royals unveiled a new protocol on Monday for users of their social media channels, asking for kindness and warning of possible police action following a rise in abusive comments, often aimed at Prince Harry's pregnant wife Meghan.

Abusive and even threatening remarks have become commonplace on the comment sections and Twitter feeds of the royal family, with Kate and Meghan, the wives of Queen Elizabeth's grandsons Prince William and Harry, particular targets.

Unveiling their "Social Media Community Guidelines", Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Kensington Palace - the offices for the queen, her son and heir Prince Charles, and William and Harry - outlined what behaviour they expected from users of their channels.

"We ask that anyone engaging with our social media channels shows courtesy, kindness and respect for all other members of our social media communities," the guidelines said.

They stated that comments must not be defamatory, obscene, threatening, or abusive; be discriminatory in any way; be "off-topic, irrelevant or unintelligible" or contain advertising.

The protocol said royal officials would determine whether the guidelines had been breached and anyone who did so would be blocked or have their comments hidden or deleted.

"We also reserve the right to send any comments we deem appropriate to law enforcement authorities for investigation as we feel necessary or is required by law," it said.

Some 3.87 million accounts follow the Royal Family's Twitter feed and another 1.69 follow that of Kensington Palace as the House of Windsor seeks to reach out directly to royal fans and showcase its work, with the overwhelming number of messages supportive.

However, while the palaces gave no explanation as to why they had issued the guidance now, there has been rising abuse of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, since the former U.S. actress married Harry last May.

A source from Kensington Palace told Hello! magazine, which launched a campaign in January to end the online abuse, that officials were spending hours each week addressing sexist and racist comments aimed at the duchesses.

These included a number of violent threats while there have also been vicious online rows between rival supporters of the two royals, and even those who report on their activities.

"It is not just the royal princesses who are being trolled, every royal journalist, every royal correspondent is being trolled as well," royal biographer Claudia Joseph told Reuters.

"People see their opinions as valid and I don't think they totally understand journalists do research, that the royals have a job to do."

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York and ex-wife of the queen's second son Prince Andrew, called on social media firms to do more following the Hello! Campaign, saying it was not a matter of free speech.

"Much of social media has become a sewer," she said on Twitter last month. "Tech firms need to do much more to take a stand against online abuse, rather than shrugging their shoulders."

Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle wrapped up their official visit to Morocco on Monday. The royal couple enjoyed a tea ceremony with King Mohammed VI at a Royal Palace in Sale, near Rabat on their last day of the visit.&nbsp;

Prince Harry handed over a letter to the Moroccan monarch from the Queen of Britain before their tea ceremony. Meghan chose a bright blue floral printed dress with frilled sleeves. Meghan is heavily pregnant with her first child with Harry.

They were earlier spotted in casuals as they visited an equestrian centre and a cooking event. They held hands, joked and posed for some photos in Rabat as they sampled some food -- including Moroccan traditional pancakes and the famed bastila pies.

They toured The Royal Moroccan Equestrian Club Dar Essalam, next to the royal palace in Rabat, where they learnt about a programme helping children with autism and other conditions.

The next stop was a cooking event at the Villa des Ambassadedur hotel with food served up by children helped by a range of other projects, and by chef Moha Fedal, host of Morocco's version of Masterchef.

The two had first gone to a reception hosted by the British ambassador. Meghan wore an elegant dress for the occasion.&nbsp;

Meghan Markle, who is soon to turn a mother for the first time, has reason to cheer. The Duchess of Sussex now has a flower in Britain named after her. This is not happening for the first time as the other royals,&nbsp;too, have a flower named in their honour.&nbsp;

The honour was given to Meghan by the Royal Horticultural Society. She will have a purple-pink clematis flower that only blooms twice a year named after her.

The flower will thus be called ‘clematis Meghan’. The flower blooms in the late spring or early summer and during fall. The flower also has a connect with Harry and Meghan’s love story as they got married around the time of late spring, exactly when the flower blooms.

According to the official announcement on the Royal Horticultural Society’s website, it says, "Named after the most recent addition to the royal family (an Prince Harry's bride), 'Meghan' is an exquisite new large-flowering clematis that will usually offer two flowering seasons each year - the first being the most prolific in late spring or early summer (around the time of their wedding), but then again in early autumn. The flowers are a rich and opulent magenta-purple, so they will really make an impact when planted in borders or larger pots."

Among&nbsp;others who have flowers in their honour, Meghan’s late mother-in-law Princess Diana had a white and pink dahlia and a hot pink clematis to her name and Queen Elizabeth has a beautiful pink rose. Kate has a white and purple clematis to her name.&nbsp;

The Duchess will soon move into her new home with husband Prince Harry as they wait for the arrival of their first child.&nbsp;

The flowers are a rich and opulent magenta-purple, so they will really make an impact when planted in borders or larger pots." Among others who have flowers in their honour, Meghan’s late mother-in-law Princess Diana had a white and pink dahlia and a hot pink clematis to her name and Queen Elizabeth has a beautiful pink rose. Kate has a white and purple clematis to her name. The Duchess will soon move into her new home with husband Prince Harry as they wait for the arrival of their first child.

The media are harassing Meghan Markle just as they did Princess Diana, who was killed in a car crash while being pursued by paparazzi, her friend George Clooney said.

Clooney and his wife Amal attended Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry, Diana's son, last year when the former actress became the newest addition to the British royal family.

The Duchess of Sussex as she is now known, is expecting her first child, something that has intensified already huge media interest.

"They're just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she's been pursued and vilified," Clooney told Australian magazine WHO.

"She's a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it's history repeating itself," Clooney said.

Last weekend, some media published details of an intimate letter they said Meghan has sent her estranged father.

"I can't tell you how frustrating that is," Clooney said.

"Just seeing them broadcast a letter from a daughter to a father, she's getting a raw deal there and I think it's irresponsible and I'm surprised by that."

Last month, five of Meghan's close friends told People magazine the duchess had endured "lies and untruths" and "global bullying" and they worried how this would affect her and her baby.

In 2016, shortly after their relationship became public, Prince Harry issued a rare statement criticizing the media for intruding into Meghan's private life, saying the press had subjected her to "a wave of abuse and harassment".

Harry and his elder brother Prince William, the second in line to the throne, have had a strained relationship with the press since their mother, Princess Diana, was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997 while being chased by paparazzi on motorbikes.

Priyanka Chopra may become godmother to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's baby

A stranger's comment on one's growing stomach may not always be welcome but a pregnant Meghan, Britain's Duchess of Sussex, took it all in her stride on Wednesday when a pensioner called her "<a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/meghan-markle-reveals-shes-six-months-pregnant-on-her-visit-to-birkenhead-youth-community-hub-190337">a fat lady</a>".

Prince Harry's wife, who told well-wishers this week she is six months pregnant, laughed off the remark, meant as a compliment about her growing baby bump.

On a visit to animal welfare charity Mayhew, of which she is patron, Meghan was being introduced to pensioners who have benefited from the organisation's animal therapy programme when an elderly woman named Peggy took a more casual approach to speaking to a member of the royal family.

"Lovely lady, you are, may the good Lord always bless you," Peggy told the duchess. "And you're a fat lady," she added, smiling and looking at Meghan's tummy.

"I'll take that," Meghan replied, laughing along with others.

Meghan said last week she would become patron of Mayhew and three organisations dedicated to causes close to her. On her first visit to the charity as patron, she met beneficiaries, staff and several dogs, some of which she held in her arms.

The 37-year-old also planned to attend the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's "Totem" show on Wednesday evening, an event aimed at raising awareness and funds for Harry's Sentebale charity.

Meghan Markle`s father directly appealed to Britain`s Queen Elizabeth on Monday to intercede and end his estrangement from his daughter, the wife of Prince Harry.

Former U.S. actress Meghan, now the Duchess of Sussex, married Harry, the queen`s grandson and sixth-in-line to the throne, in a glittering ceremony at Windsor Castle in May.

But the immediate build-up to the wedding was overshadowed by her father, Thomas, a former lighting director for U.S. TV soaps and sitcoms, who pulled out days beforehand after undergoing heart surgery.

Meghan`s father said he had not had contact with his daughter for months and repeated text messages to Meghan had gone unanswered.

When asked what message he had for Queen Elizabeth, 92, Thomas Markle said: "I would appreciate anything she can do and I would think that she would want to resolve the family problems."

"All families, royal or otherwise, are the same and they should all be together certainly around the holidays," Markle added.

Markle said that Meghan, 37, had not sent him a Christmas card but that he was hopeful that they could at some time build their relationship.

"Please reach out to me," he said of Meghan. "I love my daughter very much and she has to know that... Just send me a text."

"All I can say is that I`m here she knows it and I`ve reached out to her and I need her to reach back to me. I love her very much," Markle said. "This can`t continue forever."

Harry, 34, and Meghan are expecting their first child in the spring of 2019.

"I am certainly hoping that everything goes well and that they produce a beautiful baby and I`ll get to see a little Meghan or a little Harry - that would be very nice and I look forward to that happening," Markle said.

"I think she`ll make a great Mom."

Markle dismissed reports that Meghan could at times be rude. She was, he said, very polite as she had been raised on Hollywood stages.

When asked if she was a social climber, her father said: "She`s always been a very controlling person and that`s part of her nature but she has never been rude."

Kensington Palace did not immediately comment on the interview.

She wore dark brown paint, something never seen on the royals as the British monarch is not too fond of them. The award was given to british designer Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy label, who had designed Meghan’s wedding gown that caught the fancy of people worldwide. The white wedding gown that Meghan wore for her wedding to Prince Harry, was simple in its cut and style but had a long trail that had historical significance, given that it carried a representational image of all countries in the Commonwealth. As Britain`s heir apparent, Charles has waited longer than any of his predecessors to become monarch and would be the oldest king in a lineage that dates back 1,000 years.&nbsp;

Charles has used his position to campaign on issues including climate change, architecture and farming, often raising prescient concerns about the environment, his supporters say.&nbsp;

"When my mama succeeded and became queen and my grandfather died so young, aged 57, I ended up becoming heir to the throne aged four," Charles said in a BBC documentary aired last week.

"You have to make of it what you feel is right - there`s nothing laid down so that`s what makes it so interesting, challenging and of course complicated."

However, critics have accused him of inappropriate interfering because British monarchs are bound by Britain`s unwritten constitution to stay out of politics.&nbsp;

In last week`s documentary, Charles said he would stop "meddling" in campaigns which he felt strongly about.&nbsp;

"I`m not that stupid," he said. "I do realise that it is a separate exercise being sovereign."&nbsp;

In the BBC film, William said he hoped his hard-working father would spend more time with his grandchildren.

"Now he`s reached his 70th year, it`s a perfect time to consolidate a little bit as most families would do; you are worried about having them around, making sure their health`s OK," he said. "He`s the fittest man I know but equally I want him to be fit so he`s 95 going on, so having more time with him at home would be lovely."

However, William acknowledged that Charles still believed he had much to achieve.

"He hasn`t even reached the point that his natural progression should do - ie being monarch - so he`s still got his job to do," he said.

On Prince Charles' 70th birthday, the new family portrait speaks of familial bliss

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas may soon get married and if reports are to be believed, they will tie the knot on December 2 in a Jodhpur palace in India. While the wedding will be a close affair with only family and selected friends invited, we were all hoping for the Duchess of Sussex, aka Meghan Markle to come in for her bestie’s wedding.

If for nothing, Meghan would have wanted to return the favour as Priyanka attended the<a href="http://www.wionews.com/world/royal-wedding-live-updates-prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-to-wed-at-windsor-castle-today-138144"> royal wedding</a> that took place on May 19 this year. <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/priyanka-chopra-nick-jonas-wedding-pictures-have-been-sold-for-a-whopping-rs-18-crores-176893">Also read:&nbsp;Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas' wedding pictures sold for a whopping Rs 18 crores?</a>

All those hoping for the British Royals to come to India for the wedding, we have bad news as Meghan Markle might not attend the wedding after all.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
As announced by Kensington Palace a couple of months ago, Meghan is <a href="http://www.wionews.com/photos/meghan-markle-charms-one-and-all-on-her-first-tour-down-under-with-husband-prince-harry-174576">expecting her first child with Prince Harry</a>. It is possible that she might skip coming to India considering her royal status and lack of security arrangements at the palace in Jodhpur. Also, Meghan has fairly reduced her public appearance ever since she announced the pregnancy.
&nbsp;
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will welcome their first royal child in spring of 2019, as announced by Kensington Palace. The royal family even announced that Meghan Markle will cut back from all the public engagements for a while keeping her and her baby’s health in mind.
&nbsp;
As per reports, Meghan was quite happy on hearing about Priyanka’s engagement to Nick. A source close to her told a publication: "Meghan can't wait to get an invite to their wedding and hopes to be a bridesmaid too! Meghan is not surprised at all that Nick and Priyanka are getting married quickly. She thinks Priyanka is an amazing woman and Nick would be smart to lock her down. Meghan is a fan of Nick's music too and thinks they are hot together and will be even better as a married couple.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle name two young chicks in New Zealand

Britain's Prince Harry and his wife Meghan threw rubber gumboots on Tuesday as children cheered in a competition in New Zealand's largest city of Auckland, though Harry`s team ended up losing to his wife's side.
&nbsp;
A 6.1 magnitude earthquake felt by thousands of people in New Zealand did not disrupt the schedule of the couple, who are on the final leg of a Pacific tour that has included Australia, Fiji and Tonga.&nbsp;

"There wasn't too much of a rivalry," Isabella Iti, 10, said after the gumboot toss. "I think she was thinking that there was no chance that she would win. But she did."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were visiting a conservation area north of Auckland that had been set aside as part of a Commonwealth initiative to honour Queen Elizabeth's 66 years on the British throne.&nbsp;

There, the couple split off and each led a team of cheering children in a competition to see who could throw a rubber rainboot - known locally as a 'gumboot'&nbsp;- the farthest.

Meghan, wearing black J Crew jeans and a Karen Walker blazer, led her team to victory after tossing a blue boot about a metre (3.2 feet) further than Harry`s red one.

Gumboot throwing is famously associated with the rural town of Taihape, around 420 km (260 miles) south of Auckland, which hosts an annual gumboot festival.&nbsp;

Mike Jebsen, chief executive of the QEII National Trust, said the mayor of Taihape gave his blessing to hold the gumboot competition.&nbsp;

"We wanted to give the royal couple a taste of rural New Zealand, and there`s nothing more quintessentially Kiwi than a gumboot throw!" he said.

In the afternoon, Meghan and Harry travelled to South Auckland to visit the head office of Pillars, a charity that mentors the children of prisoners.&nbsp;

For their wedding in May, Meghan and Harry had asked for charitable donations in lieu of gifts. The New Zealand government gave NZ$5,000 ($3,271) to Pillars in recognition of couple`s interest in programmes that support vulnerable children.&nbsp;

Prince Harry loses to Meghan Markle in a gumboot toss in New Zealand

Currently, on a royal tour with husband Prince Harry, Meghan Markle gave a powerful speech on feminism. As the couple reached New Zealand as part of their 16-day <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/in-photos-meghan-markle-stuns-in-blue-gown-with-prince-harry-at-an-event-in-fiji-173363">long tour,</a> Meghan addressed an audience including Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Governor Dame Patsy Reddy at Government House in Wellington for a welcoming reception, and to celebrate New Zealand’s 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage.
&nbsp;
As she stood in front of a portrait of Queen Elizabeth, the Duchess said, “We are proud to be able to join you tonight in celebrating the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage in your country. The achievements of the women of New Zealand who campaigned for their right to vote, and were the first in the world to achieve it, are universally admired,” she said. “In looking forward to this very special occasion, I reflected on the importance of this achievement, but also the larger impact of what this symbolizes.”

Britain's Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, returned to Australia from their visit to Tonga on Friday (October 26) but their plane was forced to abort a landing at Sydney airport as another aircraft on the runway failed to get out of the way.

Their Qantas plane, charter flight QF6031, dropped to 125 feet of altitude before performing a "go-around", according to FlightRadar24.

In aviation terminology, a go-around is a when a pilot pulls out of a landing and makes another attempt after circling the airport. According to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, a go-around is a "common and very safe practice". A Reuters witness on the plane said the episode was smooth and calm. In Australia, more than 800 standard go-arounds are performed in a typical year.

The two were spotted at an event before attending the state dinner hosted by the President of the South Pacific nation Jioji Konrote. Meghan’s dress can easily be called the highlight of the evening as the mother-to-be could be seen grazing her baby bump in public and smiling for the cameras. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child

Britain’s newest royal Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will join Queen Elizabeth on Thursday for her first official engagements without husband Prince Harry.

Meghan, who married the monarch’s grandson in a glittering ceremony at her Windsor Castle home last month, will travel by the Royal Train to northwest England for a day of events.

While millions around the world watched the pomp and pageantry of her wedding, Thursday’s visit will be more typical of the engagements that the former American actress, a star of the TV drama “Suits”, will carry out as a working member of the British royal family.

The queen, 92 and Meghan, 36, will first officially open the Mersey Gateway Bridge, a new toll bridge over the River Mersey and one of the UK’s biggest infrastructure projects in recent years.

They then will travel to Chester to open the Storyhouse, a library, theatre and cinema complex in the city, and to watch a dance performance and listen to songs performed by local schoolchildren before having lunch at the town hall.

Earlier this week, Harry’s office announced that the prince and Meghan would travel to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand later this year.

The train ride is for official purposes as Meghan will be making visits as a working member of the British royal family.

The newly-married royal couple is back in news as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decide to return the £7 million-worth (Rs 625 million) of wedding gifts as these are unsolicited presents from well-wishers and companies looking for publicity.

As per royal guidelines, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are prohibited from accepting any gifts for commercial purposes. This is for all brands and commercial ventures who are looking to gain by their association with the royal couple. This also includes any well-wishers that the couple personally doesn’t know of.&nbsp;

This is why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their public wedding registry ask for donations to charities in lieu of presents. Prior to their wedding, the couple issued guidelines about the big day - including a line about gifts that read: “It should be noted that gifts cannot be brought to St George’s Chapel or the Reception that follows at Windsor Castle. Guests are advised to seek further guidance on delivery arrangements for any gifts to Kensington Palace.”

In a statement, the palace said: “When gifts are accepted, the consent of the Member of the Royal Family should be contingent upon the enterprise undertaking not to exploit the gift for commercial purposes.

“Gifts offered by private individuals living in the UK not personally known to the Member of the Royal Family should be refused where there are concerns about the propriety or motives of the donor or the gift itself.”

Apart from the £7m worth of gifts they cannot keep, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also received some gifts that they won’t have to return, including a pair of koalas named Meghan and Harry from the Australian region of New South Wales. The koalas will be kept at the Taronga Zoo.&nbsp;

An Indian-origin biochemist has been named alongside the likes of actress-turned-royal Meghan Markle, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney and bestselling author J K Rowling as the 25 most influential and aspirational women in the UK by 'Vogue' magazine.

Priyanka Joshi has been chosen for her cutting-edge research in the inaugural 'The Vogue 25' list released today, which includes artists, activists and executives across different fields.

"Priyanka Joshi had barely completed her PhD when 'Forbes' named her one of the most important young faces in science. A research fellow at Downing College, Cambridge, the 29-year-old sits at the cutting edge of Alzheimer's research, and has been praised for her ground-breaking work building a 'library' of drug-like molecules to target irregular proteins that cause degenerative brain diseases," notes the citation on the young biochemist.

"With dementia now the leading cause of death for women in England and Wales, her early breakthroughs and research could not be more vital," it adds in reference to Joshi, who completed her MSc in Biotechnology from University of Pune before moving to the UK.

Meghan Markle, the new Duchess of Sussex after her marriage to Prince Harry earlier this month, is described as "an extraordinary cast of leaders defining and redefining the way we live now".

"Almost overnight, the 36-year-old has become one of the most recognisable women in the world. But her influence stretches far beyond the ceaseless coverage of her style - as a bi-racial campaigning feminist from America, she is helping to forge a new 21st-century identity for the monarchy," it notes.

The youngest on the list is singer Dua Lipa, 22, who won two Brit Awards for her music this year and is branded by 'Vogue' as a "culture definer". The fashion magazine says her hit song 'New Rules' is an "anthem of female empowerment".

The only politician on the list - which is not ranked in any order - is Ruth Davidson, who made "spectacular gains" for the Conservative party in the last Scottish elections. Davidson, who became leader of the Scottish Conservatives in 2011, is described as a "beacon, thanks to her relatable personality and progressive ideas" among a "sea of old-guard Tories".

For Harry Potter author Rowling, the fashion publication notes her enduring influence as a result of the hit Broadway stage production of ?Harry Potter and the Cursed Child'.

"No surprise that 52-year-old Rowling is now the world's highest-paid author. A generation belongs to her," it says.

The list, which also includes fashion designer Stella McCartney and three Guardian journalists, is categorised as an extraordinary cast of leaders defining - and redefining - the way we live now.

Indian-origin biochemist and Meghan Markle on UK's most influential women list

The royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared at their first official engagement since marrying on May 19 as they attended an event in the gardens of Buckingham Palace on Tuesday to celebrate Prince Harry’s father Prince Charles’ charity patronages and military affiliations ahead of his 70th birthday this year.&nbsp;

Marking the first time that newly anointed Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen in public since their wedding reception, the couple looked happy as they posed with Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall along with charity patronages and more. According to the Kensington Palace, there were several emergency services personnel too who were first responders after the Manchester suicide bombing exactly a year ago which killed 22 people. Charles and Camilla were among the firsts who visited the Manchester Arena last June to meet staff who were first on the scene immediately after the bombing.

The coming together of Charles, Camilla, Harry and Meghan also became special and symbolic of a return favour of-sorts as Charles played an important role in Harry and Meghan’s wedding when he walked her down the aisle as Meghan’s father couldn't make it to the wedding because of health issues.&nbsp;

Meghan chose a pale pink dress by British label Goat and a matching saucer-style hat by milliner Philip Treacy while Harry looked handsome in a European suit.&nbsp;

At the occasion, Harry spoke about his father’s good deeds. He was quoted: "It is your selfless drive to affect change, whether that is to improve the lives of those who are on the wrong path, to save an important piece of our national heritage or to protect a particular species under threat, which [Prince] William and I draw inspiration from every day."

Harry and Meghan are expected to go on a honeymoon later, though nothing has been announced yet.&nbsp;
