Moreover, a distance of approximately 16.5 kilometres between Andheri East with Dahisar East will be linked by Metro Line 7. According to Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) authorities, the two Metro lines would include a new interchange station at Gundavali in Andheri East and Andheri West. Depending on the time of day, the Metro trains are scheduled to operate on average every 10 minutes.

<h2>New Mumbai Metro Line to reduce traffic&nbsp;</h2>

The Mumbai Metro New Line is anticipated to carry between three to four lakh passengers daily. It will lessen traffic and crowding, and will also cut travel times by at least 30 to 50 percent. By 2031, it hopes to assist at least 10 lakh daily commuters.

The coaches are 85 per cent Made in India by Bharat Earth Movers Limited. According to media reports, the train has a capacity of 380 passengers in each coach and can travel at a top speed of 70 kmph while transporting 2,280 passengers. Female passengers will ride in a separate coach, and each stop will have a female security guard and CCTV systems.

Although drivers will initially be in the coaches, it is intended to be driverless and equipped with a cutting-edge signalling system. PM Modi lay the cornerstone for these lines in 2015. Its second phase, which spans 5.2 km from Goregaon East to Gundavali, will include four stations. The National Common Mobility Card (Mumbai 1) and the MUMBAI 1 Mobile App, both of which can be used to pay for tickets with UPI at Metro station entrance gates, was also launched by the PM.

<h2>Ticket prices for Mumbai Metro New Line&nbsp;</h2>

The price of the two new lines' tickets would be between Rs&nbsp;10 and Rs&nbsp;50. The only element used to calculate ticket prices was the passenger's distance travelled. The fare for a trip of 0–3 kilometres will be Rs 10. The cost is Rs 20 for 3–12 km and Rs 30 for 12–18 km. Additionally, the ticket cost was Rs. 40 for 18 to 24 km and Rs. 50 for 24 to 30 km.

A road accident on the Nashik-Shirdi highway in Maharashtra state claimed the lives of 10 people and injured 34 when a bus collided with a truck. There&nbsp;were five women, two children and three men among&nbsp;the fatalities. The accident took place near Pathare village. According to the police at the site, the bus carrying pilgrims going to Shirdi collided on-head with the truck killing 10 people at the spot. Most of the people on board are seriously injured.&nbsp;

The police said&nbsp;that there were around 50 pilgrims in the private bus which was one of the 15 buses that left from Ulhasnagar carrying devotees for Sai Darshan.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A similar instance happened in India's Bihar state in December, where a bus collided with a soil-laden truck, causing the death of a driver and severely injuring 25 individuals.&nbsp;

Tata Open: US Open champions Rajeev Ram, Joe Salisbury to headline star-studded doubles field

A huge crowd of demonstrators gathered near the Maharashtra-Karnataka border on Monday, after the Union Home Minister Amit Shah agreed to talk to the Chief Ministers of both states. Shah made an announcement last week that he will take up the issue with the CM of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde and the CM of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai.

Shah told after the meeting, "Both sides have agreed that the dispute cannot be resolved on the road, but only through constitutional means". The border dispute between the two states has been going on for decades now in the Supreme Court, with no agreeable solution between the states.&nbsp;

As the winter session of both state legislatures began on Monday, a massive demonstration was held near the Kongoli Toll Plaza near the Karnataka-Maharashtra border, according to news agency ANI. Members of the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) and Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) were among those who took part in the protest.

As hundreds of MES workers and leaders congregated to protest against the Karnataka government, chaotic scenes were witnessed at Belagavi's Tilakawadi road. Police have imposed CrPc Section 144, which prohibits gathering of four or more people in the area concerned.

The locals then quickly alerted the forest department, which immediately surrounded the location and saved the cubs.

Pankaj Garg, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Nashik (West) said the area was cordoned off and the cubs were kept safe there. Later, the mother leopard took the cubs away and the family was safely reunited. The cubs were small and could have fallen into the hands of prey, said an official.

But a worrying report released by the state's &nbsp;education department says that there are at least 5.9 million&nbsp;children who are facing Aadhaar card related issues. &nbsp;

According to state-wide data, there are 23,313,762 children currently studying in government aided and non-aided schools in Maharashtra. Out of these, 1,955,515 (8 per cent) children do not have Aadhaar cards. Of the remaining 21,358,247 children who have Aadhaar enrolment, 4,001,250 (18 per cent) do not have a valid Aadhaar card. &nbsp;

State education department officials said that there is no Aadhaar mandate for school admissions. But in order to avail the facilities, students will need to have valid Aadhaar registration. &nbsp;

The Mid-Day Meal Scheme is a school meal programme in India designed to improve nutritional standing of school-age children nationwide. The programme supplies free lunches on working days for children. And, this has been a major factor for enrollment in schools, especially in rural or tribal dominated areas. &nbsp;&nbsp;

The decision to link Mid-Day scheme with Aadhaar has potential to influence several factors. Posts of teachers allotted to each school are based on number of enrolled students. The move will impact on the teacher recruitment calculations.

Secondly, students who do not have Aadhaar cards may not be able to avail benefits like Mid Day meal, provision of uniforms etc from January 2023. &nbsp;&nbsp;

“During verification process, we found out that close to 1.9 million students do not have Aadhaar card. There are mistakes in particulars such as name, date of birth or gender etc on invalid Aadhaar cards. We have now given teachers deadline to get this fixed before December 20 this year so that every child can avail school benefits,” said an official from state education department.&nbsp;

According to the report, districts like Pune, Thane and Mumbai have the maximum count of children without Aadhaar cards. &nbsp;&nbsp;

The respective schools have time till December 12 this year to complete Aadhaar updation on the portal. &nbsp;

The saga of a 28-year-old man named Aaftab Amin Poonawala in India’s capital Delhi who killed his live-in partner Shraddha Vikas Walker brutally in May is sure to send chills down anyone's spine. Delhi police is still investigating the case and in the latest development has reportedly moved a lower court seeking permission to conduct a polygraph test on the accused Aaftab Amin Poonawala. This comes after media reports citing police said Aaftab was misleading the investigation by his answers during investigation. The police reportedly said Aaftab had confessed of killing his live-in partner and dismembering her body into 35 pieces. Now, the court is likely to hear the plea on Tuesday, reported ANI news agency. The agency citing sources said Aaftab will be produced before the court once his five-day police custody expires.&nbsp;

Earlier multiple media reports said the court extended the police custody of the accused. Before the plea for polygraph test Delhi police had also sought to conduct narco test on Aaftab to investigate the gruesome killing, the reports added. According to reports, the court had allowed the application seeking permission for a narco analysis test on Aaftab. The accused was connected to the court proceedings through video conferencing. Aaftab was not physically produced before the court and his consent for the test was sought through video conferencing.

The accused had allegedly bought a 300-litre fridge to keep the victim's body in at least 35 pieces. According to police sources cited in media, Poonawala was a trained chef from a private institute in Mumbai where he was also reportedly trained in cutting meat. It supposedly took him two days to cut Walker’s body and Poonawala claims that he did it with a hacksaw with multiple blades.&nbsp;

However, the police are yet to recover the tool allegedly used to commit the crime. Furthermore, the accused claims that after “chopping the body”, he “washed the blood from them and stuffed them in some plastic bags.” Reportedly, all these plastic bags were then kept in the fridge. &nbsp;&nbsp;

The 28-year-old would then step out of the house around 2 am to dispose off the victim’s body one part at a time in the Mehrauli forest and surrounding areas, said media reports. The police reportedly said that during this time, Poonawala would burn incense sticks to keep the foul smell away and wipe the floor with detergent. &nbsp;

“After almost two three months, he discarded the head and the torso,” said a police officer to the Indian Express. Meanwhile, the accused reportedly had also researched human anatomy, Googled ways to clean human blood from the floor with some chemicals, and disposed off the stained clothes.&nbsp;

The local police have also claimed that the accused disclosed that weeks after the alleged murder he became active on the dating app Bumble through which he had met Walker, and even started dating another girl and had even visited the apartment where Walker had allegedly been killed.&nbsp;

The arrest was made after Walker’s father, Vikash Madan Walker, was led to Delhi from Maharashtra’s Palghar district after lodging a missing person complaint in Mumbai. During the interrogation, Aaftab reportedly confessed to the crime and the police had also recovered some bones from their rented apartment in Delhi.&nbsp;

He had also allegedly impersonated the victim on social media for weeks and spoken to her friends while continuing to live in the same flat. Walker’s father had come to Delhi after Shraddha’s friend had said that her phone had been switched off for weeks back in September, according to media reports. &nbsp;Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department Secretary Jatindra Nath Swain said that the ministry has asked states to accelerate the inoculation process on war footing to curb the spread of the disease.

&nbsp;“States are currently using the 'goat pox' vaccine to control lumpy skin disease (LSD) in cattle," he told PTI news agency.

The official added that the commercial launch of a new vaccine called 'Lumpi-ProVacInd', which is being developed by two institutes of Agri research body ICAR, will take the next "three to four months”.

Swain said that the ‘goat-pox vaccine’ is "100 per cent effective" and almost 15 million doses have already administered to the ill cattle in affected states. The population of cattle in India is 20 million.

Though the new virus outbreak has emerged as the biggest challenge to the dairy sector, most private milk producers have claimed that disease had no big impact on milk production, adding that the country is poised with surplus milk in inventories, but some have questioned this assessment.

Lumpy skin disease is a contagious viral disease that affects cattle. It causes fever, nodules on the skin and can also lead to death.

Meanwhile, officials in Maharashtra—where so far 42 animals have died and where the disease is spreading rapidly— are running an awareness campaign on the disease and also remain present in their areas of duty to provide immediate assistance to people.

According to PTI news agency, the family is from India’s western Maharashtra state and has been living in Dubai.

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when 42-year-old Shashikant Mhamane, his wife and their children Shruti, 9, and Shreyas, 6, were spending their time at the coast of Salah al-Mughsail.

Of the 8, the three who fell were rescued shortly after, the authority reported, while emergency care was readily available.

Oman’s Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) said that two members of the family, including a child, were found dead on Tuesday, reports Al Arabiya news outlet.

Visuals of the horrifying accident went viral on Twitter where it can be seen that the family were getting their photos clicked while standing on the edge of the coast when a large and strong wave hits them.

Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena group led by Uddhav Thackeray has petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn the Speaker's choice to recognise the Shinde camp's whip as the party's whip for July 11. The plea will be heard in court together with other case-related petitions.

According to the police, Kolhe had allegedly shared a post on some WhatsApp groups in support of Nupur Sharma for her comments following which Khan is alleged to have hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him.

The incident occurred between 10 pm and 10.30 pm on June 21 when Kolhe was returning home on a two-wheeler after closing his shop.

Eknath Shinde, the epicentre of the Maharashtra political crisis, has taken oath as the chief minister of India's western state of Maharashtra, the country's richest and second-most populous state, and home to India's financial capital Mumbai.

Eknath Shinde, the epicentre of the Maharashtra political crisis, has taken oath as the chief minister of India's western state of Maharashtra, the country's richest and second-most populous state, and home to India's financial capital Mumbai. Shinde, a senior Shiv Sena leader, led a rebellion along with several other MLAs of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) throwing the coalition into a crisis. The move ultimately forced Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray to resign from the top post. He resigned from the MLC post also. However, it doesn't appear to be the end as he said that he isn't "going away forever..." He said, "I will be here, and I will once again sit in Shiv Sena Bhawan. I will gather all my people." What will happen next, only time will tell. But as of now, Shinde has become the new chief minister of Maharashtra. But he dropped out of college before completing graduation. He started his political career in Thane, a Sena bastion. Shinde was elected to Thane Municipal Corporation as a corporator for the first time in 1997 — the start of everything. Shinde held the urban development and PWD portfolios in the previous MVA government led by Uddhav. The four-time MLA joined the Sena in Thane. He was introduced to politics in the early 1980s by Anand Dighe, the then Thane Shiv Sena President. Shinde became the successor to Dighe's legacy after his death in 2001. Shinde was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in 2004 for four consecutive terms. Shinde's son Dr Shrikant Shinde is an orthopaedic surgeon and the Lok Sabha MP from Kalyan in the district. Eknath Shinde went into depression for several months after his sons Dipesh (aged 11) and Shubhada (aged 7) died in a boat accident. On 2 June 2000, Dipesh and Shubhada went boating in a lake and the boat overturned. Both the children died by drowning in a tragic accident that took place near their native village in Maharashtra. PM Modi congratulates 'grassroots level leader' Shinde Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis on taking as Maharashtra chief minister and deputy chief minister respectively.
