<p>A four and a half-year-old husky, Nawab the dog took part in the ongoing 'Char Dham Yatra' with his Noida-based owners a few days back.</p>

<p>Nawab, who is a social media influencer in his own right, has an Instagram account with more than 74,000 followers.</p>

<p>Times of India reports that BKTC chairman Ajendra Ajay has alleged that "Crores of people have faith in Baba Kedarnath, their sentiments are hurt by such activities by YouTubers and vloggers. These people have no devotion, they come here only to shoot reels and videos with Bollywood songs playing in the background. It gets in the way of pilgrims who come to seek the blessings of Baba Kedarnath."</p>

<p>The incident has raised questions about YouTubers, vloggers and influencers shooting their videos in places of worship, with a senior police officer at Kedarnath commenting that they cause difficulties in security arrangements and also disrupt the journey of other pilgrims.</p>

<p>After months of closure due to COVID-19 spread, devotees residing in Uttarakhand on Thursday visited the Himalayan temples of Badrinath and Kedarnath to offer prayers.</p>

<p>At Badrinath, as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of coronavirus, the railings of the complex were covered with a cloth. Also, before entering the premises of the shrine, the devotees were screened for coronavirus symptoms by the doctors.</p>

<p>"We were able to offer prayers to the lord easily this year as there is no rush," one of the devotees told ANI.</p>

<p>"Now the number of travellers have started increasing. Also, along with the police, the SDRF team is also stationed at Sonprayag, Gaurikund, Linchali, Bhimbali and Kedarnath. Pilgrims will be given immediate assistance in case of any problem during the journey," he added.</p>

Sara’s father, Saif Ali Khan, in an interview to a daily said that Sara was shocked and ‘very, very, very upset’ by the news of Sushant’s death. “She liked him very much. She was quite impressed with certain aspects of his personality. She told me he was very intelligent, that he could discuss, you know, Jean-Paul Sartre and he could discuss various aspects of philosophy and engineering and that he had learned how to shoot with a bow and arrow left-handed, and he was very fit as well as very hard-working, and a good actor,” Saif had said.</p>

<p>Sushant died by suicide on June 14. The actor was reportedly suffering from depression.</p>

Filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor's latest 'Kedarnath' ticks all boxes that make for a classic love story. And it does serve an endearing story to a great extent. Set in the backdrop of the 2013 Uttarakhand floods that devastated the state, the film is a story of a feisty Brahmin girl Mukku (Sara Ali Khan) and a do-gooder pitthu Mansoor(Sushant Singh Rajput) who not only have to fight societal norms and prejudices but also nature's fury in order to be together. The first half is breezy. A rebel, Mukku has a difficult relationship with her family, is constantly angry at her father (Nitish Bhardwaj) and wants to put her fiance (Nishant Dahiya) down in whichever way possible. She lures suitors to her doorstep every now and then, fights with her sister (Pooja Gor) and cusses freely while watching cricket matches. In contrast, Mansoor is a mellowed man who believes in doing good for everyone. With his charm and kindness, he makes even the staunch pilgrims who visit Kedarnath his admirers. He talks less and is initially reluctant to befriend the talkative Mukku because he is aware of the differences between them much to the girl's disappointment. But the two come close as they confess their inner fears to each other. Only to be separated by the staunch fiance who feels 'they' (read Muslims) anyway do not belong to the holy town of Kedarnath. The rains and the eventual floods serve as a metaphor to the havoc that it brings to Mukku and Mansoor's life and the town at large. The movie slips in the second half for a bit when a hasty (unnecessary) wedding takes place, the girl attempts to slash her wrist and the boy's community is asked to leave the town without any valid reason. There is also no proper explanation given as to why Mukku is forced to get engaged to the man who is rude and a bully. But the writers, Kapoor himself and Kanika Dhillon, neatly gather the scattered story in the last 20 minutes when the floods and the devastation takes over the story taking to a grand climax. If your attention gets diverted at the beginning of second half, and you predict what's in store, the filmmaker forces you to sit up and pay attention the flood scenes which have brilliantly been put together all thanks to the superb VFX with some breathtaking camera work by Tushar Kanti Ray. Depicting natural disaster on the big screen is never easy as it needs to look authentic, believable and make the audience shiver in fear. And 'Kedarnath' manages to do that. The scenes where floods wash out the hilly town and subsequently washes away the 100 years old temple are captivating, tragic and yet picturesque. It also beautifully highlights that the man-made rules and boundaries stand nothing when nature wants to have its own way. All are equal, be it an upper caste Hindu or a poor Muslim Pitthu boy. The film serves Khan the perfect launchpad and the girl doesn't disappoint. She has a captivating screen presence, looks stunning, emotes well and holds her own throughout. It helps that her character is full of spunk, much like her real persona. Ably supporting Khan is Sushant Singh Rajput, who delivers a restraint yet an endearing performance. He is the antidote to her feisty nature and Rajput emotes through eyes mostly making Mansoor very likeable. The lead pair is fresh and shares a crackling chemistry- perfect for such a story. Other notable mentions are Nitish Bhardwaj, who brings in his effervescent charm, as usual, Pooja Gor who plays the difficult, angst-ridden elder sister and Dahiya, who plays the right-winger, shrewd fiance with great ease. Trivedi's tunes and Bhattacharya's words take the story forward and blend well with the scenic beauty around. All the songs are very soothing and beautiful. If 'Kedarnath' suffers, it is only because of over -dramatisation of certain scenes and a predictable story of star-crossed lovers. You know how the story will pan out but I'd still say it is worth a watch. For its music, its visuals and its actors. The story may not leave a lasting impression, but its visuals and Sara Ali Khan will surely do.

<p>Stringent security arrangements have been made for the prime minister's visit, DGP (law and order) Ashok Kumar said.</p>

<p>Modi will visit Kedarnath and Badrinath on Saturday and Sunday respectively.</p>

<p>This is Modi's fourth visit to the holy shrine.</p>

<p>The portals of both the shrines were reopened for devotees after winter break early this month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On May 19, 59 parliamentary constituencies, including Varanasi, from where Modi is contesting&nbsp;will go to polls in the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections.</p>

'Simmba', 'Uri', 'Kedarnath', 'KGF': Bollywood gets four blockbusters in a month

<p>Trust Ranveer Singh to play cupid. The actor who recently married his longtime girlfriend Deepika Padukone is currently busy promoting his film 'Simmba' along with his co-star Sara Ali Khan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The two actors were at a media event recently to promote their film where actor Kartik Aaryan was also one of the guests. Now for those coming in late, Sara Ali Khan had admitted on 'Koffee With Karan' that she has a crush on the 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' star and would want to date him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Naturally, Ranveer took it upon himself to walk up to Kartik at the event and introduce him to Sara Ali Khan, much to her embarrassment. A video on Instagram shows Ranveer hugging and greeting Kartik and then taking to where Sara is seated and getting them formally introduced to each other. He even makes a 'heart'sign looking at the camera leaving Sara a tad red on the face.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sushant played the role of a Muslim porter in the Abhishek Kapoor-directed film, that was set against the backdrop of Uttarakhand floods.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I am really happy with the audience response (to 'Kedarnath'). When an actor's work gets appreciated it really feels good and it only gives encouragement," Sushant told reporters here Sunday night at the Star Screen Awards 2018.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added he is happy that people are appreciating the minute details of the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"As an actor or as a filmmaker, all we want is that whatever we wanted to say should reach the audience."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, when asked about praising the look of his former actor girlfriend Ankita Lokhande from her Bollywood debut film 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi', he said, "I saw the picture and I really liked it. I wanted to congratulate her and so I did it."</p>

“We will launch an agitation if the movie is not banned as we have been told that it hurts the Hindu religious sentiments by promoting ‘love jihad’,” said Vinod Shukla to a daily. Shukla is the chairman of Kedar Sabha, an organisation of the priests based in Kedarnath.</p>

<p>Shukla said the priests had strongly protested against the film when its “vulgar dance sequences” were being shot around Kedarnath shrine. The locals too have started protesting against its release.</p>

<p>Protests demanding a ban on the film have already taken placed in Kotdwar and Rudraprayag- towns in Uttarakhand- demanding a ban on the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Objection has been raised on the <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/kedarnath-teaser-nature-is-the-biggest-roadblock-in-sushant-singh-rajput-sara-ali-khan-love-story-174350">bold scenes that have been shown in the teaser</a> and also on over the poster which has Sushant carrying Sara in a palanquin with the Kedarnath shrine in the background. Locals have claimed that Muslim do not ferry pilgrims on the trekking route to the Kedarnath shrine.&nbsp;</p>

Shukla is the chairman of Kedar Sabha, an organisation of the priests based in Kedarnath. Shukla said the priests had strongly protested against the film when its “vulgar dance sequences” were being shot around Kedarnath shrine. The locals too have started protesting against its release. Protests demanding a ban on the film have already taken placed in Kotdwar and Rudraprayag- towns in Uttarakhand- demanding a ban on the film. Objection has been raised on the bold scenes that have been shown in the teaser and also on over the poster which has Sushant carrying Sara in a palanquin with the Kedarnath shrine in the background. Locals have claimed that Muslim do not ferry pilgrims on the trekking route to the Kedarnath shrine. The producers- Abhishek Kapoor and RSVP films- is yet to comment on the matter. 'Kedarnath' will be releasing in theatres on 7th December.
