Over the weekend, reports from the Pakistani press, quoting Pakistani govt sources emerged that said during the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud's Pakistan visit it was agreed that Riyadh can call for an OIC FMs meet on Kashmir/CAA.

While no formal call has been made it doesn't look like an open-ended OIC FMs meet would happen by April 2020, as Pakistani govt sources were claiming. Islamabad could try to form a consensus for OIC Executive Committee Council of FM which includes 4 countries — Saudi Arabia, Gambia, Turkey, UAE. Saudi govt sources have so far said, that they have no information yet on any planned OIC FMs meet.

During Saudi FM's meet with Pakistan FM meet SM Qureshi, "two Foreign Ministers discussed OIC’s role in the advancement of the cause of Kashmir", a Pakistan foreign ministry release said, adding, "The Foreign Minister thanked the Kingdom’s support in OIC Contact Group on Jammu & Kashmir"

Real Kashmir Football Club on Thursday played their first home game after the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir's special status. A large crowd had gathered to witness the first big football game of this year in the valley. The game played between Real Kashmir FC and Chennai City was nail-biting as the hosts scored two goals to defeat the visiting side by 2-1.

This was also the first time that such a big gathering was allowed in the city after the abrogation of Article 370. Although the stadium has a capacity of 15,000, only 2,000 tickets were kept available for the people keeping in view the law and order situation.

The enthusiastic crowd kept cheering for the home club throughout the match. BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav was also present to witness the game. Madhav said that he is a fan of Real Kashmir FC and would want the team to win the cup.

"It's after a long time that a great football match was to take place and I came to watch it. I am a fan of Real Kashmir FC. I came late but the team scored two goals while I was there. They won and I am congratulating them. My best wishes to the team," said Madhav after witnessing the game.

Real Kashmir Football Club in Kashmir is making a slow rise which has caught the imagination of football fans across the globe for the last three years. All the sporting activities came to a grinding halt after government-imposed restrictions in the Kashmir valley, just days before the abrogation of article 370 and 35-A of the Indian constitution.

"I study in Chennai and I came here to watch this match. This club inspires us towards sports activities. Be it hot or cold, people in Kashmir turn up to support this club," said a boy, who had come for the game.

The Real Kashmir FC has already qualified I-league and beaten the top Indian football clubs. The club has created waves at the Indian domestic league and what's special now is that the team has got the backing of sportswear giant Addidas.

Also known as the 'snow leopard', Real Kashmir Football Club is the first such team that is uniting Kashmir. Recently, the team added players from Nigeria and Scotland to their colours which is attracting more people to witness the game being played under the winter sun.

India and the European Union need to sort out outstanding issues such as government procurement, labour standards, and sustainability as part of the negotiations of the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) which have been held up since 2013, European Union Ambassador to India, Ugo Astuto, said on Tuesday.

Responding to a question on as to what are the points of contention pertaining to the FTA, Astuto said, "There are a few. At the outset, I must say these are difficult negotiations. We have issues on tariff, we have issues to discuss on government procurement, labour standards, and stainability."

"These are part and parcel of all our Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). These are all complex issues that require thorough discussions. That is why technical conversation continues," he added.

The negotiations have been held up since 2013 due to differences on several contentious issues between the two sides.

Responding to a question on Kashmir, the envoy said that the European Union is concerned over the situation in Kashmir and believes it is important to restore freedom of movement and normalcy in the region.

Responding to a question on as to what are the points of contention pertaining to the FTA, Astuto said, "There are a few. At the outset, I must say these are difficult negotiations. We have issues on tariff, we have issues to discuss on government procurement, labour standards, and stainability." "These are part and parcel of all our Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). These are all complex issues that require thorough discussions. That is why technical conversation continues," he added. As soon as the Indian delegate started speaking at the conference, which aims to promote peace in Afghanistan, Qureshi left his seat and walked out.

The Pakistan Foreign Minister boycotted Singh`s speech as a mark of protest over India`s move to revoke Article 370 of its Constitution that accorded special status to Kashmir.

In September, Qureshi had similarly boycotted Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar`s speech at a SAARC ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The meeting saw high-voltage drama with Qureshi first holding up the meeting and then refusing to attend the conference until Jaishankar finished his statement.

Responding to Pakistan`s disruption of the meeting, Jaishankar left after addressing the gathering which included leaders and representatives from the regional organisation. It was only after Jaishankar left that Qureshi made an entrance at least half an hour after the meeting had commenced.

Meanwhile, Monday`s conference themed `Peace, Partnership, Prosperity` was innagurated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani at the Dolmabahce Palace, located on the Bosphorous Strait.

In his speech, Erdogan called on the international community to boost investments in Afghanistan during "sensitive" times the country has been going through.

"Afghanistan has been going through a sensitive period. As international community, we need to boost the investments we have been making for Afghanistan for the last 18 years," he added.

The initiative "aims to enhance regional cooperation towards Afghanistan," the Turkish foreign ministry said.

The Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process - a regional initiative of Afghanistan and Turkey launched in 2011 - has two chairs with Afghanistan as the permanent chair, and a co-chair from among the member states that shifts each year.

"The process aims to promote regional security, economic and political cooperation centred on Afghanistan through dialogue and confidence-building measures," according to the organisation`s website.

At the ongoing conference, Turkey will hand over its co-chairmanship, which it assumed in 2017 at the 7th Ministerial Conference in Baku, to Tajikistan.
