Indian foreign ministry, in an update on nationals stranded in Israel, said that there are no casualties that have come to be known in the wake of the brutal Hamas attack on the West Asian nation. Indian Ministry of External Affairs also said that it is in touch with and aware of an injured Indian national who is in hospital and improving. "We haven’t heard of any casualty so far," MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said during the weekly presser. "Around 18,000 Indians are in Israel. There is conflict going on and it is a matter of concern. Indians advised to follow advisories issued by our mission," he added. He also noted that three to four Indians are in Gaza and the ministry is in touch with them. Giving updates about the ambitious mission, the MEA spokesperson said, "A charter flight will reach Tel Aviv today later in the evening. It is expected to get 230 passengers onboard. We have all options, but the role of IAF (in evacuation) can't be ruled out." Will India designate Hamas as a terrorist organisation? Responding to a question on this, the MEA official said, "This is a legal matter, it will have to be seen legally. But in our position, We have been very clear that this is a 'terrorist attack'". India-Canada rift Bagchi also detailed the current status of the ongoing rift between India and Canada after Canadian PM Justin Trudeau levelled grave allegations against India in light of the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. 'No known casualties so far...': Indian foreign ministry gives update on stranded nationals in Israel

Ever since the Hamas-Israel war started the issue of hostages taken by the militants has been at the heart of this conflict. The fact that hostages include foreign Nationals from Canada, the US, France, Thailand and Nepal has only compounded the whole problem. There are reports of Hamas releasing three hostages a video circulating on the internet appears to show Hamas soldiers releasing a female hostage along with two children near the Gaza-Israel border.

<p>According to a report published in Bloomberg, Israeli troops are massing for a suspected ground invasion of Gaza. The country's national security establishment and public have been demanding retribution for the attacks carried out by the Hamas militants over the weekend, which took the lives of more than 1,300 Israelis.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, it will be a complicated task for the Israeli Army to carry out a ground invasion considering the dense population of Gaza, its complex underground network of tunnels and the threat that the Israelis, Americans and others have been facing as hostages.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The problem is that it's basically house-to-house fighting once you get into Gaza. And so it could be a heavy price," said former US defence secretary and CIA director Leon Panetta on Tuesday (Oct 10) while speaking on Bloomberg Television's "Balance of Power."</p>

<p>"But on the other hand, I think it's very clear that Israel has made the decision that they have got to crush Hamas in Gaza," he added. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
