Odisha FC completed a scintillating second-half comeback recording an impressive 4-2 win over Mumbai City FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in the 2021-22 Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22. The result leaves Des Buckingham`s men winless in three games.

Victory for Kiko Ramirez`s men means that only three points separate them from the league leaders despite being in seventh place on the table.&nbsp;Aridai Cabrera (4`) scored an early goal against the run of play but Ahmed Jahouh (11`) quickly brought the game on level terms with a superb finish.

Igor Angulo (38`) then headed his team into the lead before Jerry Mawihmingthanga (70`, 77`) scored a memorable brace to hand the lead back to the Kalinga Warriors. Jonathas (89`) put the result beyond any doubt by scoring the fourth.

The match began at a rapid pace as Odisha FC scored an early goal. Mumbai City FC`s Mourtada Fall gave the ball away with an unforced error in his own half which led to Aridai Cabrera cutting inside from the left flank and unleashing a curling shot towards the far post.

Mohammad Nawaz got both hands on the ball and yet could not prevent the ball from rolling inside the net. The midfielder was fed by Cassio Gabriel with a perfectly weighted pass for the equaliser.

Raynier Fernandes had a great opportunity to send his team into the lead at the half-hour mark but the midfielder miscued his header which went wide to his disappointment. However, it was Igor Angulo who finally gave the Islanders the lead with a precise header from a Jahouh free-kick.

The second half also started on a fiery note as OFC began on the front foot. Moments after the hour mark, Sahil Tanwar missed an easy header to score the equaliser from 12-yards away after finding himself unmarked inside the box.

Ygor Catatau looked to have scored another goal from the bench but he was adjudged to be in an offside position.Within seconds on the other end, Jerry Mawihmingthanga scored his first goal of the season and equalised with a diving header at the far post.

The winger then proceeded to score OFC`s third and stunned the league leaders with a powerful drive that went straight into the top corner from the right flank. To inflict more misery, Jerry turned provider by delivering a pinpoint cross for Jonathas who calmly placed his shot in the back of the net to score the fourth.

A late headed attempt from Catatau was saved by Kamaljit Singh from point-blank range who showed incredible reflexes to keep the Islanders at bay. The Kalinga Warriors held on to their lead and managed their fourth win of the season.

ISL 2021-22: ATK Mohun Bagan beat FC Goa 2-1 to jump to third in points table

Deshorn Brown's powerful hat-trick ensured Mumbai City FC remained winless after two matches as NorthEast United FC played out an intense 3-3 draw against the defending champions in a high-octane Hero Indian Super League clash here on Monday.

Brown scored in the 29th, 56th and 80th minute as Igor Angulo (33rd, 52nd) and Bipin Singh (40th) scored either side of his treble in a match that ebbed and flowed from start to finish.

The result means Mumbai sit at the top of the pile with 16 points from eight games but have drawn after their 0-3 loss to Kerala Blasters. NorthEast United remain ninth having eight points from nine games.

Mumbai bossed the initial exchanges with Cassio Gabriel and Jahouh pulling the strings in the middle of the park. Mohammad Nawaz did not have to warm his gloves before the first quarter of the half when the keeper tipped over a tricky Mathias Coureur header.

Against the run of play, NorthEast United drew first blood. Brown marked his return to the side with a goal as the Jamaican forward made the most of a brilliant diagonal ball from the impressive Imran Khan to chest it down and slot home past the charging Nawaz.

Stung by the setback just before the half-hour mark, Mumbai upped the ante and were rewarded soon. Bipin burst through the left flank and squared it for Angulo who tapped home from close.

Seven minutes later and five minutes to halftime, Angulo turned provider as the experienced Spaniard put an overlapping Bipin through with the latter effecting a low finish first time from a tight angle.

Mirshad was left high and dry as he let one through his near post, failing to get down in time.

At the break, Mumbai were 2-1 up with NorthEast United snapping at their heels all the way. It was action from the word go in the second period as Hernan Santana forced Nawaz into a great save three minutes into the half.

Pereira, in his first game as FC Goa head coach decided to go for an unchanged XI with Edu Bedia again leading the side. The former Indian international was without the services of Glan Martins, Brandon Fernandes and Jorge Ortiz owing to injuries and suspensions.

After a skirmish in the crowded penalty box, Alberto Noguera was able to eke out space before delivering a low short which Kamaljit Singh did well to save, going down low to his left.

A few minutes later it was Aibanbha Dohling creating issues for the Odisha defence as the centre-back rose highest from a corner, but failed to keep his header on target.

Noguera was back at it again a few minutes later as the Spaniard was played in beyond the Odisha defence by a delightful ball from Saviour Gama.

The midfielder looked on track to score his third goal of the season before Kamaljit pulled off another brilliant reaction save to keep Derrick Pereira's men at bay.

The breakthrough finally came in the 42nd minute through a corner kick. Ivan Gonzalez came up with his first of the season, getting on the end of a freekick from the left after Dohling did well to flick it on at the near post.

FC Goa came out the stronger of the two sides following the break. However, against the run of play, Odish equalised.

Jonathas made the most of his physical prowess as he bundled the ball over the line in the 53rd minute after a deflected cross from the left by Nandhakumar caught out the Gaurs' defence.

Odisha continued to build on the momentum from the goal and nearly took the lead in the 72nd minute.

Another cross from the left, this time off the boots of substitute Aridai Cabrera saw Dylan Fox hit the crossbar of his own goal as the Aussie looked to clear his lines. Liridon Krasniqi was first to the rebound. However, his shot was headed off the line by Ivan Gonzalez to keep the game on level terms.

The final phase of the game was characterised by both sides going for the kill as it became an end to end affair.

And it was Odisha who had the best opportunity of the game as Jonathas drew a tired Goa defence before playing in Krasniqi on the left. The Malaysian looked to curl the ball into the goal but was interrupted by a magnificent diving save by Dheeraj Singh.

The Gaurs will be back in action on December 29 when they take on their former head coach Juan Ferrando and ATK Mohun Bagan. That game is set for a 7:30 pm kick off.&nbsp;

SC East Bengal held Hyderabad FC to a 1-1 draw but could not stop the Nizams from jumping into second place on the points table, in their 2021-22 Indian Super League fixture at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Thursday.

Hyderabad extended their unbeaten run to six matches but the Red &amp; Gold Brigade remain winless in eight matches.

Amir Dervisevic (20') gave SC East Bengal an early lead against the run of play with a brilliant free-kick but Bartholomew Ogbeche (35') scored with a header to bring the match level.

Both teams looked to suss each other out in the opening exchanges and it was a cagey affair before Chennaiyin nosed ahead riding an unlikely source.

Germanpreet scored a goal after six years when he smashed home a rebound after Odisha keeper Kamaljit Singh blocked a cross from the right flank which fell to Germanpreet.

It was the first goal for the 25-year old since 2015 when he had netted for Dempo against Royal Wahingdoh.

Despite being 1-0 down, Odisha continued to give Chennaiyin a tough time but failed to find the back of the net, also adding teeth upfront.

It was end to end stuff from the start of the second period. Lallianzuala Chhangte got a golden opportunity to double Chennaiyin's lead when he was one-on-one with Kamaljit was narrowed the angle and smothered Chhangte's effort.

Five minutes later, Aridai Suarez fired a ferocious long-ranger which cannoned off the post and went out for a goalkick. Aridai came close again but his attempt flew over the bar.

A fit-again Edu Garcia`s inclusion in the starting XI for the first time since the first game week proved to be an inspired move. A freekick in the 10th minute sailed over the bar but another set-piece moments later did the trick.

Bengaluru FC were left hapless as Hyderabad FC rode on Bartholomew Ogbeche`s first-half strike to down the Blues 1-0 in the 2021-22 Indian Super League (ISL) at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Wednesday.

Ogbeche found the back of the net in the 7th minute as his side dominated proceedings from the off to leave Bengaluru at ninth position with four points from five matches.

Jamshedpur FC continued their unbeaten run in the season as they handed ATK Mohun Bagan their second consecutive defeat with a 2-1 win in the Indian Super League (ISL) here on Monday.

The win took Jamshedpur to second spot in the points table while ATK Mohun Bagan slumped to fifth spot.

Seiminlen Doungel (37th) scored the opener for the Men of Steel with a sublime finish from the right flank. Alex Lima (84th) scored the second after coming on as a substitute late in the second half.
