There's a growing sentiment of hostility toward Indian immigrants in Canada."&nbsp;The Peterborough Police, in a press statement, confirmed that they have arrested an 18-year-old from the City of Kawartha Lakes in connection with the incident.&nbsp;The man has been charged with threatening the couple to cause death or bodily harm. However, the identity of the man has not been revealed.&nbsp;"The accused has been released on an undertaking and will appear in court September 16, 2025," cops said."Anybody who has seen the video in this case will understand that that type of behaviour is not acceptable in our community, nor any community. I would like to thank everyone who came forward with information in connection with this incident," said Chief Stuart Betts, Peterborough Police Service.&nbsp;"Clearly, this is not the standard of acceptable behaviour in our city. We encourage residents to continue to report hate bias incidents/crimes that take place in our community. Reporting these incidents to the police is crucial to ensuring we have the information needed to investigate and pursue charges when appropriate. In the video, they can also be purportedly seen telling a Jewish man to “return to his country."

The clip further shows Shailja allegedly calling the man an “uneducated prick” after he said that he does not know of Palestine. She also reportedly stated that Jewish people were “r*pists.”

Jagjeet Singh and his wife, Jaswinder Kaur, were named as the defendants. The couple allegedly admitted to smuggling 25 firearms from Turkey for Rs. 1.25 million, according to the authorities. They were travelling with their young daughter, who was given to their grandmother by the government.

Zubair Kamili, a customs commissioner, reported that the family landed from Vietnam on July 11. He revealed that the accused Jagjeet was in possession of two trolley bags that his older brother Manjit Singh, who had come from Paris at about the same time that day and left the airport, had reportedly given to him.

Srikanth, 58, and Anuradha, 55, were brutally killed hours after returning from the United States to their home in India's southern city on Saturday, May 7.&nbsp;

Their city home was also broken into.&nbsp;Their bodies were discovered&nbsp;by police in their farmhouse outside Chennai.

Following an investigation, it was discovered that the perpetrator was a guy named Krishna, who had worked as a driver for the couple for over ten years.

The couple moved to the United States in November of last year, and except for a brief visit by Srikanth, they were gone until Saturday, May 7.&nbsp;

Krishna had been working for them as a live-in driver, according to the police.&nbsp;

On the day of their homecoming, Krishna had picked up Anuradha and Srikanth from the airport on the day of their return and driven them to their residence in Chennai's Mylapore.

When the couple's daughter, who lived in the United States, tried to phone her parents repeatedly after they arrived, she noticed something was wrong.&nbsp;

"On Thursday evening, their son phoned me saying his parents weren't answering calls for the past four days. I visited their building. The caretaker said he hadn't seen them for a few days. On Thursday night, police found them dead inside their flat," a friend was quoted as saying by the Khaleej Times.

A social worker is following the case for repatriation of bodies.

An Indian businessman and his wife were brutally murdered by a Pakistani man inside their villa in Dubai during a break-in and robbery bid, according to a media report.

Hiren Adhiya and Vidhi Adhiya, both in their 40s, were killed inside their villa at the Arabian Ranches.

Dubai Police arrested the Pakistani man in less than 24 hours, Gulf News reported on Tuesday.

Brigadier Jamal Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department at Dubai Police, said the daughter of the couple called the Dubai Police command room to report the incident.

"Patrols and forensic experts went to the two-floor villa. The father who worked as an executive manager at a company and his wife were killed. They are survived by their two daughters aged 18 and 13," the newspaper quoted Brig Al Jallaf said.

Indian Consul General in Dubai has identified the couple.

The police said the suspect broke into the villa on June 18 while the family was sleeping. He took a wallet containing Dh 2,000 (Rs 41,229) and went into the bedroom searching for more valuables.

"When the man woke up, the attacker stabbed him. The wife also woke up and the suspect stabbed her. He kept stabbing them until they died. When their 18-year-old daughter woke up and saw her parents in a pool of blood, the attacker stabbed her in the neck and escaped," Brig Al Jalaf added.

The daughter sustained minor injuries and she managed to call Dubai Police.

Officers found the knife one kilometre away from the villa and identified the suspect who was staying in another emirate.

Colonel Adil Al Joker, the assistant of the director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Dubai Police, said that the suspect admitted to the crime and that he planned to break into the villa.

"He claimed that he used to do maintenance work in the villa over a year ago and had seen a large amount of money on the table, which was what lured him to break into the villa. He bought the knife on the day of the crime," Col Al Joker said.

Consul General Vipul told Gulf News, "The incident is very unfortunate and the consulate is in touch with friends of the couple."

He said some jewellery had also been stolen from the villa but it has been recovered.

Vipul said the couple ran their own business with an office in Sharjah.
