Two days ago - the Kathmandu Post reported that the standing committee members are preparing to demand Oli's resignation as prime minister on account of "a poor handling of the covid-19 pandemic."

On Friday, the standing committee discussed Nepal's deteriorating ties with India, and discussed Nepal's decision to redraw the country's maps.

The new maps showed Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura - three disputed territories as part of Nepal. The standing committee was of the view that Oli's government should have held a dialogue with India.

The report says, “Oli has avoided major discussions during the previous standing committee meetings, whenever he feels that he is going to be criticised by his own party members”.

Beyond the obvious repression of Tibetans, China's actions have serious security implications for India.&nbsp; China has been openly conducting military drills in Tibet.

In the middle of the Ladakh standoff, the Chinese state media beamed visuals of Chinese troop activity in Tibet.

On June 2, Global Times reported that the People’s Liberation Army had conducted night time high-altitude drills in Tibet.

It said: “China and India share borders at the high altitude area, and incidents have recently occurred between the two countries' troops."

Tibet takes up the issue

China has recruited a squad of mixed martial arts fighters into its army. One report claims that China had reinforced its troops near the Indian border, and this squad was part of this deployment.

US Lawmaker Scott Perry recently moved a bill in the Congress. If passed, it will authorise the US President to recognise Tibet as a separate, independent country.

Tibet was indeed an independent country, until it was invaded and annexed by China.

Mao Zedong, the founding father of China oversaw two such takeovers.

The first one was Xinjiang. In 1949, the PLA entered Xinjiang. By the spring of 1950 - most of the territory was under the army’s control. Ultimately, Mao Zedong secured Xinjiang through political means.

China invaded Tibet region in 1950. Nine years later - the Dalai Lama was forced to escape to India’s Himachal Pradesh, which is still the home to the Tibetan government in-exile.

China's continuous attacks on Tibet may be India's trump card

The protestors also accused China of spreading the novel coronavirus in the world, which has affected almost 10 million people in the world, and counting.

"They are causing so much damage. Millions of people around the world are suffering because of the virus. I think the Chinese need to stop threatening and treating their own people as slaves," he said.

Few days ago, the Indian community in Vancouver, Canada, too, staged a protest against China's actions on the India-China border, which led to a violent face-off, and 20 soldiers lost their lives.

Ka-226 T helicopter project announced in 2014 is expected to replace Indian army's light utility helicopters Cheetah and Chetek. The main aim of the project is on "Make in India" production of KA 22T helicopters with Indian companies expected to take large scale part in the project. Many of local Indian vendors are expected to become the suppliers as the Russian-Indian joint venture has signed MoUs with a number of companies.

Sources said, “India will be able to receive some crucial helicopter technologies" with "integration of various helicopter systems being possible"&nbsp;

While the intergovernmental agreements were signed are a long time ago, a formal contract is still not signed and the actual project's launch is still pending.

The rifle has customizability due to use of the Picatinny rail, which enables instalment on the basic rifle of additional equipment and therefore can be quickly adapted for the various components of the Indian Forces. The gun has been already tested under the conditions of extreme heat and cold.

India is considering imposing an import tax of 20-25% on solar modules and 15% on solar cells for a year beginning in August, its power minister said on Thursday.

India does not currently levy a customs duty on imports of solar cells and modules, but has a safeguard duty to protect its local industry which expires in July.

“In the second year, we are looking to impose a 40% tax on solar modules,” R.K. Singh, India’s Power Minister said in a virtual news conference on Thursday, adding that cells will be taxed at 25% in the second year.

Yet, the state officials added that the hackers have in their possession a database of over 20 lakh Indian email IDs.

Given the severity of the border conflict, a warning was issued by the central government. A report from June 18 revealed that China is hosting multiple DDOS (distributed denial of service) attacks against Indian information websites, and payment gateways, which could jeopardise a lot of data.
