<p>The Indian government on Wednesday stated that it will investigate the charges pressed against Whatsapp of allegedly getting access to the microphones of the devices used by the users without their prior consent.</p>

<p>A few days back, a Twitter engineer had accused WhatsApp of accessing his microphone in the background when he was sleeping.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reacting to the incident, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar tweeted that an investigation into the case will be carried out by the government to find out if WhatsApp was actually accessing the smartphone's microphone while the phone was not in use.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This is an unacceptable breach n violation of #Privacy We will be examining this immdtly and will act on any violation of privacy even as new Digital Personal Data protection bill #DPDP is being readied. @GoI_MeitY @_DigitalIndia," Chandrasekhar tweeted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Responding to the allegations, WhatsApp said that its&nbsp;officials got in touch with the Twitter engineer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The company claimed that the problem is likely to have occurred because of a bug in the Android.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We believe this is a bug on Android that misattributes information in their Privacy Dashboard and have asked Google to investigate and remediate," said WhatsApp in a tweet.</p>

<p>While Teju works&nbsp;on the farm, his wife acts as a keeper of the farm. She safeguards the mangoes from monkeys or any other damage.</p>

<p>But&nbsp;Teju is not alone in migrating to India to work on these farms. The Konkan region sees an influx of labourers from Nepal every year. The number of Nepalis who have travelled from Nepal to Maharashtra has grown significantly over the past few years. Official data shows that&nbsp;over 50,000 Nepalis travelled from Nepal to Maharastra in 2018 to&nbsp;work on mango farms.</p>

<p>The number has risen to over 150,000 in 2023.</p>

<p>Nepalis come in during the month of October and start their work by pruning branches and spraying fertiliser before the harvest season.</p>

<p>They stay till the end of May or early June. They also help to pick, sort and pack the mangoes for export or sale.</p>

<p>IMD has issued warnings about the potential for landslides in sensitive places, minor damage to weak or unstable structures, uprooting of small trees and breaking of tree limbs, and damage to tiny trees like banana trees in Mizoram, Tripura, and South Manipur.</p>

<p>It has requested that farmers to rapidly harvest mature fruits and crops, stake and cover vegetable nurseries and orchards, refrain from using chemicals, and confine cattle to sheds.</p>

<p>The really rough to phenomenal sea (9–14 m wave height) is expected to have an impact on the shipping and offshore industries. Up to Saturday, IMD advises regulating shipping, offshore operations, and tourism around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. <p>Mocha is not likely to have any impact on the monsoon which usually reaches Kerala around 1 June. “Mocha is a transient system and there is still a fortnight left for the normal onset date for monsoon. We do not think the very severe cyclone will impact monsoon onset,” said Mohapatra.</p>

<p>On Friday morning, Mocha was around 520 kilometres to the west-northwest of Port Blair. The tropical heat potential, which fuels the cyclone, is at its highest level close to the coast of Myanmar, according to an IMD official.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Bay of Bengal is considerably warm with sea surface temperatures of over 30°C over most parts of the ocean.”</p>

The firm hopes to roll out 3,00,000 ACs and 6,50,000 compressors per year, and these products are meant to cater to local demand and exports.</p>
