<p>In Sheffield, UK, in 2007, the change of carpet's color helped the Bollywood ceremony to stand out from the rest. And till today, they have continued with the concept of the green carpet.</p>

<p>The organizer of the IIFAs was quoted by The National News as saying, "IIFA has always helped create clever messaging on the environment that the stars and celebrities involved would convey to the audiences and fans globally. And today, with the power of celebrity following, it’s worked."</p>

<p>Veteran actor Anupam Kher will be given the prestigious Lifetime Achievement honour at the upcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony in Bangkok.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 63-year-old actor will be honoured for his contribution in the field of cinema. He has worked in over 500 films that range from projects in India and abroad. Kher has been working in the space of entertainment for over three decades now.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As he was informed of the award, Kher said he is grateful for the award and for being recognised for his work. He said that it will act as an encouragement to keep working in the industry for another 34 years of his life. Kher said, “Thank you IIFA for acknowledging my achievements in Cinema. I am privileged to be a part of our film industry, which has been so generous in the showing of love and warmth upon me.”</p>

<p>His statement continued: “My 34 years of work has helped me achieve great milestones and at a time when actors my age are offered the Lifetime Achievement Award, I prefer to ride on another 34 years exploring new and exciting opportunities in Indian and international Cinema. I am humbled and happy to be the recipient of this award instituted by IIFA.”</p>

<p>He added, “With every such award comes a sense of responsibility which I promise to be committed to, in our industry and also, as a representative of our country in the international arena.”</p>

<p>India&#39;s biggest Bollywood stars lit up an American stadium Saturday with a dazzling celebration of dance, music and fashion at the International Indian Film Academy awards just outside New York.</p>

<p>Held each year in a different city overseas, IIFA is India&#39;s biggest media event and one of the world&#39;s most-watched annual entertainment shows, with an audience of nearly 800 million people.</p>

<p>Thousands of delighted fans, dressed to the nines in evening gowns, cocktail dresses, saris and jewel-encrusted shalwar kameez, shrieked with delight as the awards got underway at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, a short drive from New York.</p>

<p>A Donald Trump impersonator, introduced as Ronald Grump, tried to lead the crowd in a few strains of song, before actress Alia Bhatt whipped the audience into a frenzy, cheering an upbeat song and signature Bollywood moves with backup dancers in neon costumes.</p>

<p>Fellow A-listers Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Shahid Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon are also expected to perform.</p>

<p>Hosted by Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and producer-director Karan Johar, it is the culmination of a three-day festival, which kicked off with a fashion show and music in Times Square.</p>

<p>On Friday, the heavens opened during a concert honoring A.R. Rahman, the movie composer who won two Oscars in 2009 for &quot;Slumdog Millionaire&quot; and a green carpet parade of stars in their finery was canceled at the last minute owing to the poor weather.</p>
