Hollywood star Chris Pratt has filed for divorce from actor Anna Faris. 
 
The Guardians of the Galaxy&nbsp;star filed legal documents to end their eight-year marriage over the weekend citing irreconcilable differences, reported E! online.

Faris&#39; response, which was filed simultaneously, reportedly mirrors her ex-husband&#39;s filing. She has also asked for joint custody and the right to receive child support.

The separation date is listed as July 13, a month prior to when they publicly announced they were separating. 
 
&quot;Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we&#39;re really disappointed,&quot; the couple said in a joint statement issued by Pratt on August 6.

The two met on the set of Take Me Home Tonight&nbsp;in 2007 and got engaged a year later before marrying in summer 2009.

Faris is currently dating cinematographer Michael Barrett. The two have been spending time together since September after working on the new film Overboard.&nbsp;

Hollywood heavyweight Tom Hanks has weighed in on the sexual abuse scandal, currently ripping through the film industry, explaining that the raft of allegations against prominent men in the entertainment business does not surprise him.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 61-year-old actor said that he is not surprised by Hollywood`s sexual harassment scandal as he believes that &quot;predators are absolutely everywhere&quot; within the entertainment industry.

The Bridge of Spies&nbsp;star said, &quot;There are a lot of reasons people do this for a living. Making a movie is a life experience that can create an awful lot of joy. You can meet the person you fall in love with, you can laugh your heads off. That`s the good stuff.&quot;

But despite all the good, Hanks noted that there is also a dark side to the film industry that cannot be ignored.&quot;The bad stuff can happen on a movie as well. There are some people who go into this business because they get off on having power. And the times they feel the most powerful, which is why they went into the business, are when they are hitting on somebody who`s underneath them, [and] I don`t necessarily mean completely sexually. There are predators absolutely everywhere,&quot; noted Hanks.

The Academy Award-winning actor also shared that he is optimistic about changes being made in Hollywood and these changes can make Hollywood a safer place.The Captain Phillips&nbsp;star explained, &quot;Somebody said, `Is it too late to change things?` No, it`s never too late. It`s never too late to learn new behaviours. And that`s a responsibility of anybody who wants to obey a code of professional ethics.&quot;

The Crillon Debutantes Ball is a contemporary version of a British tradition which began in the eighteenth century.&nbsp;

The new form raises money for two charities like Seleni, a centre for women&#39;s mental health, and Children of Asia, which aims to raise the enrolment of young girls from Southeast Asia into education.

It was originally a ceremony for eligible young women from aristocratic families to be presented in front of the Queen when they turned 18. It was a sign that a woman was ready to be betrothed, and an introduction to families of a similar social standing.

A spokesman for the New York Police Department confirmed to AFP it is investigating the 2004 case, but provided no details. New York state has no statute of limitations on most serious felonies, including rape.

The New York Daily News reported that the case involved aspiring actress Lucia Evans.&nbsp;

The New Yorker magazine reported Tuesday that Evans said Weinstein had forced her to perform oral sex on him. The magazine quotes two other women as accusing him of rape.

In 2015, the New York police opened an investigation into a complaint by Italian model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez, who said Weinstein had sexually attacked her in a hotel room. Police had her make a secret recording, in which Weinstein could be heard repeatedly insisting that she come into his room, which she refused to do.

But prosecutor Cyrus Vance said there was insufficient proof to pursue charges.
