The IMD said intense cold wave conditions are likely to persist in North India for the next three days, while dense fog&nbsp;is expected in the region for the next five days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The IMD said that “Jet Stream Winds” of the order of 130-140 knots at 12.6 km above mean sea level are prevailing over the plains of North India.</p>

<p>“It is leading to subsidence of cold air and enhancing cold wave/cold day conditions over North India. Similar intensity of Jet Stream is likely to continue during next 3-4 days,” said the weather forecast agency.</p>

<p>Night temperature&nbsp;is expected to stay between&nbsp;2-5 degrees Celsius in isolated pockets of north Rajasthan, and south Haryana, while in Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, remaining parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh it&nbsp;will remain in the range of 6-10 degrees.</p>

<p>“These are below normal by 2- 4 degree Celsius in isolated pockets of south Haryana, south Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan. Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 2.4 degree Celsius was reported at Bikaner (West Rajasthan) and Kanpur (East Uttar Pradesh),” said the IMD.</p>

<p>“Dense to very dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail for a few hours in the night/morning in some parts of Uttar Pradesh during Friday and Sunday morning and in isolated pockets for subsequent three days while dense to very dense fog conditions are also very likely to prevail in morning hours in isolated pockets over Uttarakhand till January 23,” IMD added.</p>

<p>The IMD made it clear that no part of the country will experience cold waves after January 25.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, dense fog led to cancellations and delay of several flights at the Delhi international airport.</p>

The incident happened on flight SG-268, which took off from Mumbai airport at 2 am on Tuesday (Jan 16), after an hours-long delay. It was supposed to have taken off at 10.55 pm on Monday (Jan 15).</p>

<p>"It was known that the passenger on 14D seat had gone to the toilet soon after the takeoff and the seatbelt signs went off. Sadly, he got trapped inside as the toilet door malfunctioned," media reports quoted a ground staffer in Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport as saying.</p>

<p>The cabin crew tried to open the toilet door but could not.</p>

<p>An air hostess reportedly wrote a note and slipped it under the crack of the toilet door.</p>

<p>It read, "Sir, we tried our best to open the door, however, we could not. Do not panic. We are landing in a few minutes, so please close the commode lid and sit on it and secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come."</p>

<p>An airport official in Bengaluru reportedly said, "The poor man flew from Mumbai to Bengaluru inside the toilet and, shockingly, landed trapped inside the tiny lavatory."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The plane landed at KIA at 3:42 am on Tuesday (Jan 16).</p>

After that, the man was given first aid, a media outlet said quoting an officer. "The passenger was totally traumatised due to claustrophobia."&nbsp;</p>

<p>SpiceJet later issued a statement, "On January 16, a passenger unfortunately got stuck inside the lavatory for about an hour on SpiceJet flight operating from Mumbai to Bengaluru, while the aircraft was airborne due to a malfunction in the door lock. Throughout the journey, our crew provided assistance and guidance to the passenger."&nbsp;</p>

<p>SpiceJet also reportedly gave a full refund to the hapless passenger.</p>

<p>The commentators on air said&nbsp;that the players would not come back on the field till the conditions improved. <p>The primary weather station of Delhi, Safdarjung Observatory, recorded 30mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, ending at 8:30 am on Thursday.</p>
