Ten-man Wolverhampton Wanderers came from behind to draw 1-1 at Brentford and force a replay, despite having Joao Gomes sent off in the ninth minute.

Eight-time FA Cup winners Spurs and Burnley looked destined for a replay before Porro broke the deadlock in the 78th minute of a drab game when he intercepted goalkeeper Arijanet Muric's throw, firing a rocket from long range into the top far corner.

Burnley's best chance came in the first half when Zeki Amdouni received a clever flick just outside the six-yard box but took a poor first touch and launched the ball over the bar. They rarely threatened as Spurs found a way to grind out the win.

Manchester United beat Brighton on penalties at Wembley on Sunday to set up an FA Cup final against treble-chasing Manchester City after the match finished goalless.

Victor Lindelof scored the decisive spot-kick as Erik ten Hag's team won 7-6, following a miss by Solly March, staying on course for a domestic cup double.

The semi-final in front of a crowd of more than 81,000 finished 0-0 after extra-time, with neither side showing the cutting edge required to break the deadlock.

The result means United will have the chance to derail City's bid to match their unique achievement of winning the treble of Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup in the first-ever meeting between the rivals in an FA Cup final.

But the Red Devils, who won the League Cup earlier this season to end a six-year trophy drought, will have to find better form if they are to compete with Pep Guardiola's red-hot team.

"On Thursday I saw a team I didn't recognise but today we went back to usual," Ten Hag told the BBC, referring to their Europa League horror show against Sevilla.

"I could see determination and resilience. We fought for every yard and competed in every battle. We had good chances."

Luke Shaw came in at centre-back for the suspended Harry Maguire, with Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes replacing Jadon Sancho and Marcel Sabitzer following Thursday's 3-0 defeat in Spain, which meant a 5-2 defeat on aggregate in the Europa League quarter-finals.

United substitute Sabitzer stepped up to take his spot-kick with United 5-4 down and his heart would have missed a beat as Sanchez got his hand to it but he could not keep it out.

Brighton's Adam Webster and United's Wout Weghorst both scored before March's painful miss with the 13th kick gave defender Lindelof a chance he did not squander.

Ten Hag praised "cool" Lindelof and Shaw -- first-choice central defenders Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are out injured -- and said he was impressed by the performance of De Gea.

"He made some brilliant saves," he said. "It hurt when he made mistakes on Thursday.

"Often when you make mistakes as a keeper you get punished. We let him down, we didn't fight back for him. We bounced back today though."

UK police chiefs on Tuesday apologised to the victims of the 1989 Hillsborough football disaster as they unveiled plans for "essential reform", including measures to prevent evidence being lost or destroyed.

97 Liverpool fans lost their lives in a crush at the stadium in Sheffield, northern England, with police chiefs admitting on Tuesday that "policing got it badly wrong".

"Policing has profoundly failed those bereaved by the Hillsborough disaster over many years and we are sorry that the service got it so wrong," said Andy Marsh, CEO of the College of Policing.&nbsp;

"Police failures were the main cause of the tragedy and have continued to blight the lives of family members ever since."&nbsp; 
Marsh accepted that "the bereaved were often treated insensitively".

The comments came as the National Police Chiefs Council and the College of Policing published a joint response to a 2017 government-commissioned report published by former Liverpool Bishop James Jones.

Reforms following the report include all police forces in England and Wales signing up to a charter that states they "must acknowledge when mistakes have been made and must not seek to defend the indefensible".&nbsp;

Police chiefs have also agreed on a new code of practice on retaining information, with many records surrounding the Hillsborough disaster either lost or destroyed.

"I am deeply sorry for the tragic loss of life, and for the pain and suffering that the families of the 97 victims experienced on that day and in the many years that have followed," said National Police Chiefs Council Chair Martin Hewitt.

"Police chiefs today are committed to responding to major incidents with openness and with compassion for the families involved," he added.

The Hillsborough disaster remains Britain's worst sporting tragedy and was caused during a crowd surge at one end of Sheffield Wednesday's ground hosting Liverpool supporters.
