Chelsea manager Frank Lampard on Thursday said he is relishing a reunion with the London club`s former boss Carlo Ancelotti, now in charge of Everton, ahead of their Premier League meeting on Saturday. 
 
Ancelotti guided Chelsea to the Premier League and FA Cup double in the 2009-10 season with Lampard one of the mainstays of his midfield and the current Blues boss hailed the veteran Italian manager. 
 
"I was heavily influenced by him as a player and a man. He`s right at the top of managers I worked with," Lampard told a news conference. "He`s had huge success at various clubs. He was a great coach, a great man and I look forward to seeing him." 
 
Everton, beaten 4-0 by Lampard`s side in their last meeting, made a solid start to the current season and led the table before a dip in form saw them slide to ninth place with 17 points from 11 games, six places and five points behind Chelsea. 
 
"The Premier League is unforgiving. They`ve had injuries. It doesn`t change my thoughts on how to approach playing them," Lampard, whose side are also through to the Champions League last-16, added. 
 
"We`re happy where we are but there`s a long way to go. Words aren`t important at this point. 
 
"It was important for us to win our Champions league group and put that away until the new year. Our next four games show how challenging it is. It`s important to focus and understand. We can`t drop our standards." 
 
Lampard added that Chelsea will be without injured wingers Hakim Ziyech (hamstring) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (thigh) for at least two weeks.

Everton is set to host Leeds on Saturday. However, the coach admitted that the formation is still a work in progress and there remain issues to iron out.

"Of course we have to be concerned, we have to be worried, because we conceded too many goals. It is too much," he added.

"Everton Football Club can confirm Andre Gomes will undergo surgery after sustaining an ankle injury in today's game with Tottenham Hotspur," the Merseysiders said in a statement.

"After undergoing hospital tests, it was confirmed he had suffered a fracture-dislocation to his right ankle. The club will provide further updates in due course."

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said&nbsp;his club had the utmost sympathy for Gomes.

"We feel very sorry," he said. "Was a really bad situation, very bad luck how he landed in the action.

"We can only send our best wishes and (we are) devastated for the situation."

However,&nbsp;Pochettino believed the red card shown to Son was harsh, particularly as referee Martin Atkinson had first produced a yellow card prior to seeing Gomes's injury.

"I cannot agree with the red card of Sonny," added&nbsp;Pochettino.

"VAR must help the referee, I don't know what is going on and what happens with this tool. Rather than help the referee it is creating more confusion."

Both managers were left frustrated at the use of VAR as both sides saw a strong penalty claim turned down in the second half despite a lengthy delay to review the incidents.

Five-star City make statement, Kane seals late Spurs win

Everton have signed Andre Gomes from Barcelona, both clubs said on Tuesday, after the Portugal midfielder completed a successful loan spell at the Premier League side last season.
