Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali&nbsp;Khamenei, in a live speech on state TV on Friday, ruled out negotiations with the United States over Tehran's ballistic missile and nuclear programmes, calling on Iranians to resist US&nbsp;bullying.

"America's brutal sanctions on Iran are aimed at collapsing our economy ... Their aim is to limit our influence in the region and to halt our missile and nuclear capabilities,"&nbsp;Khamenei&nbsp;said.

"But the smart Iranian has made the best use of this attack, this animosity and benefited... by using sanctions as a means to increase national self-reliance."

Such radical Democrats, he alleged, do not love the country in any way, shape or form.

Observing that he withdrew from the one-sided, energy-destroying Paris climate accord, he said this was a disaster and cost the US billions of dollars.

Trump said that under the last administration, America's energy industry was under relentless and unceasing attack.

"But the day I took the oath of office, we ended the war on American energy and we stopped the far-left assault on American energy workers," he said.

The US in November last year formally notified the UN of its withdrawal from the Paris climate accord, a global agreement in which President Trump's predecessor Barack Obama had played a key role.

Although Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the historic pact on June 1, 2017, the process began last year with the formal notification and the US will be out of the pact on November 4, 2020.

"It (Paris climate accord) would have made us a non-competitive nation. We cancelled the Obama administration's job-crushing clean power plan," he said as he listed some of the steps being taken by his administration.

"For the first time in nearly 70 years, we have become a net energy exporter. And the United States is now the number one producer of oil and natural gas on the face of the Earth. To ensure we maintain this dominant position long into the future, my administration is announcing today that export authorisations for American liquefied natural gas can now be extended through the year 2050," Trump added.

India is the fourth highest emitter of carbon dioxide in the world, accounting for 7 per cent of global emissions in 2017, according to the projection by the Global Carbon Project published in December, 2018.

The top four emitters in 2017, which covered 58 per cent of global emissions, were China (27 per cent), the US (15 per cent), the European Union (10 per cent) and India (7 per cent).

The US is moving forward with President Donald Trump's plan to withdraw nearly 12,000 troops from Germany, a plan that will cost billions to execute and will take years.

Trump announced the decision on Wednesday, citing Berlin was not spending the NATO target of 2% of its GDP on defence and because Germany was taking "advantage" of the US.

"We spend a lot of money on Germany, they take advantage of us on trade and they take advantage on the military, so we're reducing the force," he told reporters at the White House.

The plan to pull US troops from the long-time NATO ally has been met with broad bipartisan opposition amid concerns that it will weaken the US military's position vis a vis Russia, however the Trump Administration has decided to proceed with the move.

To this end, &nbsp;approximately 11,900 US troops, a mix of Army and Air Force units, will be removed from Germany to meet Trump's mandated cap of 25,000 US forces in Germany, according to a senior US defense official, a number higher than the figure of 9,500 that was used when the reduction was first announced.

Of the troops leaving Germany some 5,400 will be "staying in Europe," the official said. The remaining 6,400 forces and their families will be returned to the US and will in time redeploy to Europe.

Secretary of Defence Mark Esper said this would cost billions of dollars as new military construction will likely be required both in Europe and the US to house the additional troops.

The timeline suggests that the plan could be reversed should Trump lose the election in November.

Trump, almost a week back, addressed national criticism of a leadership void in a crisis that has already killed nearly 150,000 Americans and wreaked havoc on the world's biggest economy. He admitted things were going to "get worse before they get better." He indicated he was embracing the science. He finally urged the wearing of masks.

But looks like all this was a short-lived affair. At a press conference in the White House on Tuesday, it was the old Trump in full display.

The president said it was unfair that the leading US infectious diseases specialist Anthony Fauci was more popular than him.

"Nobody likes me," he said.

He pushed his theory that the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine can be used to treat COVID-19 patients.

And he praised Stella Immanuel, a doctor and preacher who believes in witchcraft and a plot being carried out to vaccinate people against being religious, calling her "spectacular."

To this end, Twitter took the rare step of removing clips tweeted by Trump from a video earlier deleted by Facebook in which Immanuel and a group of doctors told Americans that masks are unnecessary and that hydroxychloroquine can defeat the novel coronavirus.

Twitter said the video was "in violation of our COVID-19 misinformation policy."

Twitter also blocked Trump's son Don Jr -- a major player in the president's reelection campaign -- from tweeting for 12 hours after he uploaded a version of the video.

Trump has for months pushed the notion of hydroxychloroquine and says he took the drug for two weeks as a precaution, without suffering ill consequences. There is, however, currently no cure for the coronavirus. Also, a majority of medical authorities now have decided, after some initial debate, that hydroxychloroquine has no proven benefit for coronavirus patients and can be very harmful.

In his Twitter spree late Monday, the president also retweeted a growing right-wing conspiracy theory that Fauci helped push coronavirus to hurt Trump's reelection in November.

The tweet, shared by Trump to his 84 million followers, claimed that Immanuel is highlighting "what should be the biggest scandal in modern American history."

Trump also attacked Fauci by retweeting a comment on a podcast hosted by his former advisor Steve Bannon that Fauci "misled the American public on many issues."

The argument of Trump that such students studying online courses need not stay in the US is logically correct though that does not appeal to the immigrants. As a rich country in the world offering growth opportunities in multiple ways and business and trade prospects, people from across the world, particularly from developing countries like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and others, aspire to go to the US and if possible become the citizens. As a matter of fact, in the case of many immigrants to the US, becoming the US citizens appear to be lifelong ambition. Some succeed and some do not. Many people outside the US seem to think that the immigrants getting US citizenship are a privileged lot. The immigrants in the US and those aspiring to become immigrants argue that the US is essentially a country of migrants and the immigrants from across the world have contributed to the prosperity and growth of the country. Therefore, they argue that the US government restricting the flow of immigrants is ethically incorrect. The fact is that, by and large, the government and citizens of the US have a liberal attitude and have been welcoming the immigrants and treating them on par. The recent incident of the murder of black man George Floyd by a white policeman has revived the debate as to whom the US belong, in a scenario, where every citizen in the US is a migrant and some of them could have migrated a few years back, some a few decades back and some a few centuries back. There are African Americans, Indian Americans, Chinese Americans and so on and a number of US citizens of all these races hold pivotal positions in the US, both in the government and business enterprises. In view of such a diversified background, all religions have places of worship in the US. The recent “Black Lives Matter “ movement appears to be based on the controversial question as to whether the US belongs to blacks or whites and whether the whites are denying the legitimate rights to the blacks, all of whom are citizens of US. This is a historical issue and appears to be an unending debate. The ground reality in the USA today is that the country does not belong to any single race but multiple races that have descended on the USA as immigrants over a few centuries. The controversy being created as to whether the US belongs to blacks or whites and white black conflict exists in US is mischievous. The fact that could effectively disprove this mischievous campaign is that a black could become a US President and remain in the post for two terms and is popular with most sections of the country's men and women. It is particularly interesting to note that the “Black Lives Matter” movement has participation by both the blacks and whites and at the same time, large number of blacks and whites in the US who think that this protest movement is unreal and a wasteful exercise kept themselves away from the protest. If the white policeman has murdered a black man ,the fact is that there have been a number of occasions when the blacks have also murdered the whites. Then, why no movement was started under the title “White Lives Matter". While the black President Barack Obama having been the US President for eight long years has not solved the so called discrimination of blacks, why no one is accusing Obama for this “wasted opportunity”? President Trump is being accused and protests are organised to defend the rights of blacks, which appears to be virtually aimed at unseating President Trump in the forthcoming election. The US is not a troubled country as it is made to look before the Presidential election by some people with anti-Trump feelings. Cross section of people in the US are living together for several decades with understanding and amity. They will continue to do so. In every country in the world , one section or other amongst the people complain about discrimination based on the caste, colour or race. Such grievances also exist in the US which is not an abnormal condition and Trump cannot be held responsible in any way for such prevailing conditions. It appears that the “Black Lives Matter” movement will end for the present after the conclusion of the forthcoming Presidential poll in the US and whether President Trump would get reelected or not, it would be a non-issue after the Presidential election, as it is an unreal or exaggerated issue. In portland, federal troops deployed tear gas and flash bags to disperse the demonstrators. At least a dozen protesters were arrested in Seattle.

Police claim that the demonstrators had attacked them with rocks, fireworks and bottles. Protests also spread to Luivil in Kentucky. At least 80 people were arrested for assault and disorderly conduct. Similar scenes played out at Austin, Aurora and Oakland.

Meanwhile, Trump said the city mayors had failed to rein in the protest and sent federal troops to fight the protesters. Trump deployed officers from the customs and border protection agency.

They are supposed to safeguard America's border, and fight terrorists but here they were fighting Americans at home. The Federal troops clashed with the protesters. Unidentified officers began arresting people and bundling them into unmarked cars. While all of this is may be okay in authoritarian regimes, democratic America would have none of it.

According to Washington Post's column, Reagan Foundation "has demanded that Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee (RNC) quit raising campaign money by using Ronald Reagan's name and likeness." This column was published on Saturday.&nbsp;

The complaint was about an email sent on July 19. It was from "Donal J Trump" and was titled "Ronald Regan and yours truly". The mail asked for a donation of $45 or more a "limited edition" set of two "iconic" gold-coloured coins, one showing Reagan and the other showed Trump.

"The coins were mounted with a 1987 photograph of Reagan and Trump shaking hands in a White House receiving line – the type of fleeting contact that presidents have with thousands of people a year," as per Washington Post's report. The email was sent to a certain list of people that included reporters it also said: &nbsp;“This offer is NOT available to the general public, so please, do NOT share this email with anyone.”

According to the Post, the RNC has agreed to stop, however, the coins remain available. The Post declined to comment on its connection with Ryan Jr.&nbsp;
