<p>You might have heard of Akshay Kumar’s professionalism and punctuality but he gave a live example to his director recently while shooting for upcoming film ‘Good Newwz’.</p>

<p>The actor who is currently undergoing physiotherapy sessions for his back injury filmed for a song even while he was in pain as it was pre-scheduled and Akshay Kumar didn’t want his director or the fellow cast to face inconvenience.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This happened a few weeks ago when Akshay Kumar was to shoot for a song for his film but he woke up with severe back pain owing a back injury that he suffered a couple of months back. It didn’t stop him though and he went on to the set.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Film director Raj Mehta cited in a published report said, "Akshay&nbsp;was also running a fever on the night before the shoot. We weren't expecting him to show up, but surprisingly, he did, and even managed to pull off the choreography set by Bosco [Martis]. It was a relief for him as getting the entire cast together for the song on other dates would have been very difficult considering the film has big names like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) requested the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/diljit-dosanjh-accepts-invite-to-pak-organisers-event-artist-body-wants-mea-to-cancel-visa-248997">cancel the visa of singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh</a>, the artist postponed his performance in the US, which was scheduled to take place on September 21.&nbsp;<br />

The `Udta Punjab` actor took to his Twitter handle and issued a statement regarding the scheduled concert, saying that he is postponing the performance at this time.<br />
<br />
"Regarding Houston concert on Sep 21, I have just become aware of a letter issued by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to me by an article published in the Mumbai Mirror today, I was not aware of any such intimation by the Federation before today," he wrote.<br />
<br />
He went on to state that his contract is only with Shri Balaji Entertainment and nobody else as mentioned in the film body`s letter."I would like to state that my contract is only with 'Shri Balaji Entertainment' my dealings and agreement is with them only and nobody else that is mentioned in the article or Federation Letter," Diljit said.<br />
<br />
"However in lieu of the letter by the FWICE I have decided to postpone my Houston show at this time. I love my country and will always stand for the greater interest of the Nation INDIA Always," he concluded.</p>

The film body added that Diljit is a "thorough gentleman" and "superb singer-actor" but has been "allured" by Siddiqi and his performance will set a "wrong precedent" in the wake of the current situation between the two countries.<br />

"Mr. Dosanjh is a thorough gentleman and a superb singer/actor but he has been allured by the Pak National, Mr. Rehan Siddiqi," FWICE stated.<br />

"His performance for the Pak National and people will set a wrong precedent in view of the current alarming situation between the two countries," the film body added in the letter.<br />

FWICE requested for the visa cancellation of the actor and his group to restrain their performance as it will be labelled as "anti-national."<br />

"It is, therefore, our humble request to you to cancel the visa of Mr. Diljit Dosanjh and his troupe or the application for visa be not granted to restrain their performance in America as it will be labelled anti-national," the film body said.<br />

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has requested the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to cancel the visa of singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, who accepted the invitation for an event which is being promoted by Rehan Siddiqi, who is of Pakistani origin. The performance is scheduled to take place in the US on September 21. In a letter written to the MEA, the film body stated that, "We, at FWICE want to draw your kind attention towards the unbridled race of Artists/ Singers/ Dancers/ Anchors/ Performers at the behest of a Pak National Rehan Siddiqi promoter of shows in America despite strict warnings given to them." "We have come to know that the performing singer and actor from Punjab Diljit Dosanjh has accepted the invitation of Rehan Siddiqi for staging his performance at the United States on September 21, 2019," the statement read. The film body further stated that Diljit is a "thorough gentleman" and "superb singer-actor" but has been "allured" by Siddiqi and his performance will set a "wrong precedent" in the wake of the current situation between the two countries. "Mr. Dosanjh is a thorough gentleman and a superb singer/actor but he has been allured by the Pak National, Mr. Rehan Siddiqi," FWICE stated. "His performance for the Pak National and people will set a wrong precedent in view of the current alarming situation between the two countries," the film body added in the letter. FWICE requested for the visa cancellation of the actor and his group to restrain their performance as it will be labelled as "anti-national." "It is, therefore, our humble request to you to cancel the visa of Mr Diljit Dosanjh and his troupe or the application for visa be not granted to restrain their performance in America as it will be labelled anti-national," the film body said. "We are doing our duty and wish the government takes appropriate action. We hope you will do the needful to crackdown the menace to avoid the devastating effects," FWICE concluded the letter. Last month, Mika had performed in Karachi, Pakistan with his group at an event which was organised by former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf`s close relative. This did not go well with netizens and fans who revolted over the idea and called the singer a `traitor` on social media. After the social media uproar, FWICE and AICWA (All India Cine Workers Association) banned the singer. FWICE even stated that any artist who works with Mika will be banned henceforth. However, after a press conference, Mika publicly apologised for performing in Pakistan after which the ban was revoked by both the film bodies.

<p>"I am not saying that that is how the industry works. I am saying that I was one of the unfortunate actresses who had encountered a terrifying experience. Since then, I did not try my luck in Bollywood, and I never will. I am comfortable in my space in Punjabi cinema," added the actress, who has bagged several awards for films like 'Mel Karade Rabba', 'Jihne Mera Dil Luteya' and 'Jatt &amp; Juliet 2'.</p>

<p>Her new film &nbsp;'Shadaa' is released on Friday nationwide.</p>

<p>While she knows the reach of Punjabi films is wide internationally, especially in Canada, talking about its pan-India release, Neeru said: "I think it also depends on the actors in the film. As for `Shadaa`, we are releasing the film for the Mumbai audience especially, because of Diljit. Now that he has strong followers among the Hindi audience, we know that this film will have a greater reach."</p>

<p>'Shadaa' is directed by Jagdeep Sidhu and co-stars Diljit Dosanjh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The story of the film revolves around a girl from Punjab who does not want to get married. But the society and her family criticises her for making such a choice.</p>

<p>Personally, Neeru said she does not believe in following a timeline that the society sets for marriage.</p>

<p>"Getting married within a certain point of time is one of them. Girls and boys also face the societal pressure to get married which I find wrong," added the actress, who herself got married at the age of 34.</p>

<p>A mother to a four-year-old girl, Neeru wants to encourage her daughter to be more independent.</p>

<p>"I think we condition our girls with the thought of getting married to feel complete and successful. Therefore, once girls finish education, their goal becomes not to build a career and earn money, but getting married.</p>

<p>"I will not even tell my daughter to get married if she does not find her life partner. I would rather push her for education and financial independence.... That is why I work even now. I know that confidence comes from there. I do not have to depend on a man to give me bread," she said.</p>

<p>In the film industry, she is happy to observe a vital change for women. She is glad that now a woman can continue her acting career even after marriage and having children.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Earlier it was so different. Now a woman is still offered a lead role in films at the age of 38. Look at me," she said with a smile.</p>

<p>The statue was initially scheduled to be revealed on 28 February but was postponed in the wake of mourning over the Pulwama terror attack.&nbsp;<br />

<p>Joining the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan who have donated money to the families of 40 CRPF troopers that were slain in a deadly attack in Pulwama, Jammu &amp; Kashmir; Diljit Dosanjh has now given Rs 3 lacs to the same cause.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He donated the money to the wives of the CRPF troopers who died in the terror attack. Diljit shared a snapshot of his donation receipt to the CRPF Wives Welfare Association on Sunday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He captioned the post, "Our soldiers protect the country and the citizens of the country. They have to live away from their loved ones, not knowing what the next day will bring. The families don't know when will they see them next. But there was always a hope which is now gone for these families."</p>

<p>Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh who has now made a mark for himself in Bollywood with films like Udta Punjab, Phillauri is back with yet another powerful story or so it seems.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Titled Soorma, Diljit will be seen essaying the role of hockey player Sandeep Singh. The film is essentially a biopic on the Indian sportsman who was seriously injured after hit by an accidental gunshot in a train in 2006. His is a story of never giving up as Sandeep Singh never gave up and continued playing.</p>

<p>Diljit for the role not only had to get trained by the former captain but also underwent a physical transformation to look like him. Speaking about how hard it was to train for it, Diljit in an<a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/-soorma-is-physically-a-demanding-film-says-diljit-dosanjh-127002"> interview</a> said, "The role was extremely draining with so much intense training. Physically, it was very tough. I had a lot of problems post shooting the film. When I was shooting, I had stopped consuming sugar, I used to eat salt very less".</p>

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh who has now made a mark for himself in Bollywood with films like Udta Punjab, Phillauri is back with yet another powerful story or so it seems. Titled Soorma, Diljit will be seen essaying the role of hockey player Sandeep Singh. The film is essentially a biopic on the Indian sportsman who was seriously injured after hit by an accidental gunshot in a train in 2006. "Because we wanted the physique of an athlete in a very short time, I pushed my body a lot to achieve that result. When the film got over and I started eating normally, I got swelling on my hands, face and all over the body.<br />
"There was a reaction. When you reduce the intake of salt, the water in your body doesn't stay and you get cramps," he said.<br />

Diljit, 34, has no qualms about it and says a film like that required him to push limits.<br />
