China's automobile exports increased by about 60 per cent&nbsp;in the first quarter, surpassing Japan as the world's top automotive exporter.

As per&nbsp;the most recent statistics from the General Administration of Customs, China's automotive exports increased by 58 per cent year on year to over 1.1 million units from January to March. Meanwhile, according to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Japan exported 954,000 automobiles.

The surplus is expected to persist as China's auto exports may increase by about 30 per cent&nbsp;to four million cars this year, exceeding Japan's yearly forecast, according to the China Passenger Auto Association, reported Yicai Global.

<h2>What's the trend?</h2>

The trend has been evident for some time, as China shipped 3.1 million automobiles last year, surpassing Germany to become the world's second-largest auto exporter, trailing only Japan.

Chinese automakers are looking for fresh opportunities abroad, since exports accounted for about 12 per cent&nbsp;of total Chinese vehicle sales last year, rising to nearly 18 per cent&nbsp;in the first quarter.

As per&nbsp;Shi Jianhua, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, if the percentage grows to 20 per cent, China would be on its way to becoming a major auto exports country.

China's auto exports have risen in recent years because suppliers have been less affected by chip and battery shortages in Europe, the United States, and Japan, and they have been able to fill the output gap of new energy vehicles and gas-powered cars, according to an auto exporter in Wuhu, Anhui province.

Experts believe that&nbsp;as competition in the Chinese market heats up, local automakers might enhance their sales and profit margins by exporting their goods.

As per CAAM figures, China's car exports increased by nearly thrice last month to 425,000 units. SAIC Motor shipped 82,000 vehicles, nearly double its previous figure. BYD's shipments increased roughly 17-fold to 15,000 units.

In 2022, China became the world's second largest car exporter by surpassing Germany. GAC data showed that China exported 3.22 million vehicles in 2022, increasing 56.8 per cent year-on-year while Germany exported 2.61 million vehicles.

The suspected man was booked into Springfield's Baca County Jail for his warrants and charged with “Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, driving while ability impaired, driving under suspension, speeding 20 to 24 over the speed limit and resisting arrest”.

"As there was only one vehicle in stock, in accordance with the sales process, Porsche Centre Yinchuan has communicated with the first customer who made an online refunded reservation fee and has negotiated an agreeable outcome", the car manufacturer added.

Also, the dealership contacted "every bidder individually and explained the situation with an apology".

The dealership posted the incorrect information on January 30 and the &nbsp;¥911 reservation fee paid by the customers was refunded, stated &nbsp;Porsche.&nbsp;

The Chinese social media was abuzz with the incidents, as one commentator posted, "This is why I don't buy Porsche lol". Other social media users called it a promotional strategy that was "well conducted".&nbsp;

Ten people were killed and 16 injured in the attack -- but the death toll rose to 11 at the end of October 2021 when an injured woman who had spent more than three years in hospital also succumbed to her injuries.&nbsp;

It was the worst attack in Toronto's history.&nbsp;

The sentence came within three weeks of Canada's Supreme Court striking down cumulative sentences for murderers. The provision of the criminal code dated back to 2011. It allowed judges to impose extremely long prison sentences on killers who caused numerous deaths.

The Court concluded that a prison sentence which "greatly exceeds the life expectancy of any human person is degrading by its absurdity and, therefore, contrary to human dignity".&nbsp;

"I'm definitely not satisfied," Elwood Delaney, whose grandmother died in the attack, told reporters. 
Minassian "sat there, showed no emotion, barely looked up at anybody reading an impact statement," adding, "I hold a lot of anger towards that man."

This is coupled with a proprietary sampling system that collects particles at a fixed point immediately behind each tire, which is, via a sample line, drawn into a real-time detector measuring the size of distribution of particles by mass and number.&nbsp;

Typically, this measures particles from 10 microns down to 6 nanometres. &nbsp;This combination allows the real-time signal to be calibrated to the mass loss, and, by using the size distribution, the proportion of the particles likely to be suspended in the air can be estimated.&nbsp;

“We do not believe nor is there any evidence this was an intentional act,” Lincoln police said in a statement.

According to reports, Lincoln Police Chief Teresa Ewins said in a news conference on Monday afternoon that neither of the vehicles involved in the crash was participating in the “Americruise” event, which has been taking place in the city since the early 1990s. It was a collision that could have happened at any time, she said.

“At the time of the collision there wasn't a lot of people out," Ewins said. "The cars were not flowing down the street as normal during this event.”

Police said the crash happened when an 18-year-old Omaha man driving a black Ford Taurus travelling westbound on O Street struck a white Toyota Corolla that was “facing” eastbound. The women, both in the Corolla, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Taurus was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Two women, ages 20 and 22, had been inside one of the cars and died in the Sunday night crash on O Street in Lincoln. Of the injured bystanders, one person was listed in critical condition and the others were treated at hospitals for injuries not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

In order to cash in on the growing frenzy among grooms who seek to hire helicopters to make a grand entry to their wedding venues, Guddu Sharma turned his Tata Nano, a four-seater hatchback, into a chopper.

He used sensors to give desired features to the vehicle.

According to an Indian newspaper, the mechanic spent nearly 200,000 rupees (more than US $2,600) to shape his car into a helicopter.

Guddu said that he saw a huge demand for helicopters during weddings as the prospective grooms wish to bring their bride home, but due to money problems, they can't afford it.

Hence, he converted the vehicle into a helicopter which can be affordable for everyone.

“In the era of Digital India, this invention is a living example of self-reliant India. More than 150,000 rupees is required in making such a ‘helicopter’, whereas it will cost more than 200,000 rupees to give it a hi-tech appearance,” Guddu said.

It seems that his creative invention is already being well received as he said that 19 people have already booked it.

The helicopter can be hired at a price of Rs 15,000 (US $200).

However, he is not the first person to turn his car into a helicopter.

Mithilesh Prasad, from Chhapra in Bihar state, modified his Tata Nano car into a helicopter to achieve his childhood dream of designing a helicopter. It took him seven months to complete the project.

A school teacher from Texas state in US has been arrested for allegedly locking her Covid positive son in a car trunk to protect herself from contracting the disease while driving to a testing centre.

Sarah Beam, 41, has been reportedly charged with endangering her 13-year-old child, according to local media reports.

The incident is said to have taken place earlier this week on Monday when Beem was taking her son to a drive-thru Covid testing centre.

According to reports, an official at the testing centre heard voices coming from the trunk. When inquired, the teacher reportedly opened the boot, revealing the boy lying inside.

According to click2houston.com, Beam told authorities that she locked her 13-year-old son inside to protect herself from the exposure. She was taking her son for another test to confirm the result.

A health worker at the site reportedly told Beam that no test would be done until the boy was allowed to sit in the back seat of the car, according to ABC affiliate KTRK-TV.

Beam has been working as a teacher at Cypress Falls High School since 2011, but is now on administrative leave, according to local media.

In a statement, Cy-Fair ISD Police Department said, “CFPD was alerted that a child was in the trunk of a car at a drive-thru Covid-19 testing site earlier this week.

"Law enforcement conducted a full investigation, resulting in a warrant for arrest. Thankfully, the child was not harmed."

In a bid to spread awareness and cut down CO2 emissions, car advertisements in France will include messages encouraging people to consider less-polluting travel alternatives. After COP26, many countries are trying to cut down their CO2 emissions. This was recently confirmed in the government's official journal. The messages say that the drivers should adopt more environmentally responsible options whenever possible. There will be three options that will be given: "Consider carpooling," "For day-to-day use, take public transportation," or "For short trips, opt for walking or cycling." It will also include the hashtag "#SeDeplacerMoinsPolluer", which means move and pollute less. Lionel French Keogh, the head of Hyundai France, while speaking to AFP said, "It means that overall, we have to find alternatives to the automobile. It's the first time we've had such a direct message from the government. We are going to adapt -- moving toward zero-emission vehicles is the course of history. But there is an irony: they make no distinction between the type of motorisation. It's a bit counterproductive to the government's aim of promoting electric vehicles." The ads will also include a vehicle's CO2 emission class. This is a new ranking system that informs the consumers about the environmental impact. Volkswagen, the third-biggest car seller in France said, "We will comply with the legislation and analyse how best to comply with our advertising agency." (With inputs from agencies)

"When I bought Tesla, the first 1,500 km were nice. It was an excellent car. Then, the error codes hit. So, I ordered the tow truck to take my car to the service station. For almost a month, the car was at the dealer's workshop and I finally got a call that they cannot do anything for my car. The only option is to change the whole battery cell," the owner said with his white Tesla car in the background. &nbsp;

"It would cost me at least 20,000 Euros. So, I told them I am coming to pick up my car. And now, I am going to explode the whole car away because apparently there was no guarantee or anything," he added. &nbsp;

The incident led to a prompt recovery by the US Coast Guard officials. The body of the woman, who was in her late 60s, was pulled from the car. The vehicle was only 50 yards from the brink of the fall. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Although the New York State Park Police is still investigating, a spokesperson for the New York State Parks seemed to think the vehicle was intentionally driven by the woman into the Niagara river. &nbsp;
