The Canadian police are on a hunt for the two suspects believed to be involved in the knife attack.

According to police, the stabbings—in which some of the victims were targeted—took place in multiple locations on the James Smith Cree Nation and in the village of Weldon, northeast of Saskatoon on Sunday.

AP news agency has reported that the suspects have&nbsp;been identified as Damien Sanderson (31), five feet seven inches tall and weighing 155 pounds,&nbsp;and Myles Sanderson (30), six-foot-one and 200 pounds.

Both have black hair and brown eyes and may be driving a black Nissan Rogue.

The incidents were first reported at 8:20 am (local time), following which the police issued a province-wide dangerous person alert.

“It is horrific what has occurred in our province today,” Rhonda Blackmore, the Assistant Commissioner of the RCMP Saskatchewan was quoted as saying. She added that they are yet to determine the motive.

Blackmore further said that they are trying to determine the relationship between the two suspects and whether they were known to the police.

Based on the tip-off from the public, police said that the suspects were last seen in Saskatchewan’s capital of Regina, but they have gone incognito since then.

“If in the Regina area, take precautions &amp; consider sheltering in place. Do not leave a secure location. DO NOT APPROACH suspicious persons. Do not pick up hitch hikers. Report suspicious persons, emergencies or info to 9-1-1. Do not disclose police locations,” the RCMP said in a message on Twitter.

In a news release, the Regina Police Service said it was working to locate and arrest the suspects and had “deployed additional resources for public safety throughout the city, including the football game at Mosaic Stadium".

Scorching hot summer temperatures caused by climate change is wreaking havoc across the planet. Reportedly, Canada's easternmost province of&nbsp;Newfoundland and Labrador is facing its worst-ever forest wildfire, which has been raging for the better part of the last two weeks.

Such has been the state of affairs that&nbsp;Premier Andrew Furey has issued a state of emergency in the province and stated that things had changed significantly in the last 36 hours.&nbsp;

“Over the last 36 hours, things have changed. We were predicting that we could manage this. However, with the wind change, we are afraid that there will be a significant smoke impact. This is a dynamic, evolving situation as all fires are, but we can’t wait for the last minute, we have to act now,” said&nbsp;Andrew Furey.&nbsp;

According to local media reports, the area has been ravaged by two separate wildfires. One is blazing in&nbsp;Newfoundland near the Bay d'Espoir Highway&nbsp;having torched more than&nbsp;12,355 acres already, while the second in&nbsp;Paradise Lake has destroyed more than 16,062 acres.&nbsp;

One of the firefighters battling the wildfire was quoted as saying,&nbsp;"We're doing our very best to try and get that Bay d'Espoir Highway open again, but the reality is the fire's on both sides of the road, the wind's not helping down there, and the size of the fire is increased."

Reportedly,&nbsp;an outdoor fire ban has been issued as well which prohibits the setting of fires on forestland or within 300 metres&nbsp;of forestland.&nbsp;

The staff at Château Laurier hotel in Ottawa – the place where the portrait was kept – felt that there was something wrong as it did not match the other portraits taken by Karsh. The hotel also houses the portraits of Martin Luther King Jr, Albert Einstein, Ernest Hemingway and Queen Elizabeth II.&nbsp;

Jerry Fielder, who oversees Karsh’s estate, was contacted and he discovered that the original portrait was missing. “I’ve seen that signature for 43 years. So, it took me just one second to know that someone had tried to copy it,” Fielder told Guardian. “It was a fake.”&nbsp;

The 78-year-old, who was once considered a strong candidate to be pope, was named in court documents this week relating to a class action suit targeting more than 80 members of the clergy in the archdiocese of Quebec.

He rejected the accusations in a statement, a day after the Vatican said it ruled out a formal church investigation.

"Having learnt of the false accusations made against me by the complainant, I strongly deny having made inappropriate gestures towards her," he said.

"I consider the interpretation and circulation of these allegations of sexual assaults to be defamatory.&nbsp;If a civil inquiry is opened, I will actively participate so the truth is established and my innocence is recognised," said the statement in French and Italian published on the Vatican website.

The claims against him in the civil suit, which the Quebec supreme court ruled could go ahead in May, are among the testimonies of 101 people who say they were sexually assaulted by members of the clergy and church staff from 1940 to today.

They surfaced just weeks after Pope Francis visited Canada, where he apologised for the decades-long abuse of Indigenous children in Catholic-run residential schools.

So far, the cardinal is not facing any criminal charges.

No grounds for formal probe

Ouellet's denial comes a day after Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said a "preliminary investigation" already ordered by Pope Francis had found there were "no elements to initiate a trial".

The pontiff went back to the author of that probe, Father Jacques Servais, and was told again there were no grounds for opening a formal investigation.

Ouellet is a prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, one of the most important functions within the Curia, the government of the Vatican.

His accuser claims the cardinal assaulted her multiple times — kissing her, "forcefully" massaging her shoulders, and once sliding his hand along her back to her buttocks.

According to Thursday's Vatican statement, Servais said he had interviewed the woman via Zoom in the presence of a member of the committee.

He was quoted as saying that neither in her report to the pope, nor in the testimony he heard, "did this person make an accusation that would provide material for such an investigation".

Since becoming pope in 2013, Francis has sought to tackle decades-long sexual abuse scandals, although critics insist much more needs to be done.
