In a significant turn of events, Khawar Farid Maneka, the ex-husband of Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan's wife, Bushra Bibi, filed a case on Saturday (Nov 25), accusing the former first couple of fornication and fraudulent marriage.

The complaint was submitted in the court of Islamabad East Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah, citing sections 34, 496, and 496-B of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The court issued notices to three witnesses mentioned in the case, including Istekham-i-Pakistan Party member Awn Chaudhry, Mufti Muhammad Saeed who officiated the nikah, and Maneka's house employee Latif. They are directed to appear before the court on November 28, as reported by PTI.

In the complaint, Khawar Maneka alleged that Imran Khan frequently visited his house for extended hours under the guise of spiritual healing, a situation he deemed "undesirable and unethical."

He also claimed that Khan would call Bushra Bibi at late hours, with separate contact numbers and mobile phones provided for communication.

Maneka stated that he divorced Bushra Bibi on November 14, 2017. According to him, the alleged offense of fornication occurred between Imran and Bushra, followed by a staged marriage on January 1, 2018.

Khawar Maneka urged the court to summon and punish Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi strictly in accordance with the law. The legal development occurred after strong criticism from Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party leaders, questioning the moral necessity of Maneka's interview. Meanwhile, PML-N adversaries seized the opportunity to criticise the former premier.

The recent filing comes a day after a petitioner withdrew a similar case, citing technical reasons, adding to the unfolding drama surrounding the personal life of Imran Khan and the accusations leveled against him.

The countrywide crackdown against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party continued in full swing on Thursday, as the party’s chief Imran Khan and his wife were put on the ‘No-Fly List’, and 18 members of his party were handed over to the military court to face trial over the May 9 riots.

At least 80 prominent leaders, apart from Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, were added to the 'No-fly List', effectively barring them from leaving the country.

The PTI leaders who have been included are, former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Murad Saeed, Maleeka Bukhari, former information and broadcasting minister Fawad Chaudhry, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed, Asad Qaiser, Atif Khan, Yasmin Rashid, Qasim Suri, Hammad Azhar and others.

The names were added upon the request of the police, the National Accountability Bureau, and the anti-corruption department to the Ministry of Interior.

These leaders are being barred from leaving the country for their alleged role in the May 9 riots.

Responding to the clampdown, Khan accused the ruling establishment of ‘dismantling' PTI on the pretext of May 9 arson.

“Those in PDM (Pakistan Democratic Movement, a coalition of political parties ruling Pakistan) and the journalist community who are cheerleaders for this yazeediyat (cruelty) should know that this is not dismantling PTI but our democracy i.e., our freedom.”

“However, this attempt to enslave us will fail as we have a politically aware young population who despite media being muzzled gets its information from social media,” he added.

The protests that erupted on May 9 happened in response to the arrest of Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

The unruly supporters and workers of PTI reportedly stormed and torched state installations across the country. The violent protests continued for nearly three days and claimed the lives of at least eight people, leaving at least a dozen injured.

For the first time in Pakistan’s history, protesters stormed the army headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and also torched a corps commander’s house in Lahore.

The unruly scenes unfolding across Pakistan forced the Shehbaz Sharif-led coalition government to suspend internet services and sent the army to maintain the law and order situation.

Holding Khan squarely responsible for the unrest, the police filed three terrorism cases against him. He is out on bail till June 2.

16 handed to the military for trial

Meanwhile, a court in eastern Lahore city has handed over 16 civilians to the military for trial for their alleged involvement in the violent protests.

One of the 16 suspects is a member of Khan’s PTI party, a senior member of Khan's legal team, Azhar Siddique, told Reuters news agency. The suspect was supposed to run in the next provincial elections.

“The 16 will be investigated by the military and tried in military courts,” he was quoted as saying.

Military courts operate under a separate system from the civilian legal system. Trials are closed to outsiders, and no media is allowed. Rights groups have criticised the secretive nature of the process.

Rights groups have criticised the secretive nature of the process. (With inputs from agencies)

Pakistan has sought an Interpol red corner notice against Farhat Shahzadi, a close friend of Bushra Bibi — the wife of former prime minister Imran Khan — over money laundering charges.

Red corner notice, as per Interpol, is not an international arrest warrant, rather it is a request to law enforcement globally to "locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action."

As per the PTI news agency, Farhat Shahzadi, alias Farah Khan and Farah Gogi, left the country weeks before Imran Khan was ousted from power in April last year. Her departure from Pakistan came amidst allegations by the then-opposition that claimed she was involved in corruption.

Pakistan-based publication Dawn reports that in a letter to the Interpol director in Islamabad, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has sought the red corner notice against "fugitive Farhat Shahzadi in FIR 04/23 of FIA anti-money laundering circle in Lahore."

In its letter, the FIA said that it was investigating Farhat Shahzadi on charges of laundering millions of rupees.

"On fearing that her heinous crime is likely to be exposed, Farhat Shahzadi alias Farah Gogi escaped to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on April 3, 2022," alleges the agency.

"She has been declared as proclaimed offender by the court of Mr Ghulam Murtaza Virk on March 14, 2023, by the issuance of a proclamation order (warrant)," it further said.

The investigation agency has reportedly requested Interpol to escalate the process to get the approval of this request. They've urged Interpol to send the process to its headquarters in the French city of Lyon for the early issuance of the red notice.

According to Dawn, the FIA is also investigating Ahsan Jamil Gujjar, husband of Shahzadi, concerning the money laundering case. According to the report, it is believed that Shahzadi left UAE and is assumed to be living either with her husband in the US or in some other nation.

Pakistan seeks Interpol red notice against Bushra Bibi's close friend Farhat Shahzadi alias Farah Gogi

Bushra Bibi, the wife of ex-prime minister Imran Khan, has warned the Punjab caretaker government's authorities against any operations on her Zaman Park residence during the Eid al-Fitr holidays. The former Pakistan first lady warned caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that their offices will be responsible if an operation is carried out.

As per an Express Tribune report, in a nine-page letter sent to the authorities via her counsel Azhar Siddique, Bushra under articles 9, 14, 15, 16 and 17 of the Constitution, Bushra asked the PM and CM to "refrain the authorities from conducting any operation without adopting the due process of law."

The letter referred to a police raid conducted on March 18 without the presence of a female police officer — against court instructions. Bushra said she is currently working on the "rehabilitation" of Zaman Park, and expressed her apprehension that the police are planning another operation during Eid al-Fitr holidays.

She warned the CM and PM that if any such operation is carried out, it would be a violation of articles 10-A, 4, and 5 of the Constitution. The letter also warned that appropriate actions or remedies would be taken in due course of law, and the PM, CM, and other officers would be held responsible for any violation of fundamental rights.

This letter comes after the Lahore High Court dismissed a petition filed by her to "halt police action" at the residence. In it, the PTI party chief's wife had Bushra's petition had nominated the Ministry of Interior, the Punjab inspector general of Police and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as respondents.

Imran Khan, too, has expressed his apprehension about such an attack. Owing to his fears, during the hearing of a separate case at the Lahore High Court earlier this week, the court directed the police not to "harass" the former Pakistan PM.

Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi's marriage not as per Shariah law: Cleric

A purported audio clip of the wife of Pakistan’s ex-prime minister Imran Khan hit social media where she can be heard giving instructions to her party PTI’s social media wing to spread the ‘narrative of treason' against those who oppose Khan.

In over a two-minute-long audio clip, the former first lady, Bushra Bibi, purportedly expressed her disappointment with Arsalan Khalid, the head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) social media wing, for remaining inactive.

Before he could explain, Bibi asked Khalid to build a narrative against party dissidents by linking them to 'foreign conspiracies' against Imran Khan.

"Aleem Khan and other such people would say things about me, Imran Khan and my friend Farah Khan," she said, asking Dr Arsalan to link all such people to "treason", according to Express Tribune newspaper.

In the purported audio, Bibi then says the party's social media will have to take up the issue of the government not buying oil from Russia. "Now you have to ensure that this issue does not die down," she said.

Bushra Bibi is the third wife of Imran Khan. Both got married in 2018, six months before he became the prime minister. She had been Khan's spiritual guide for long. Also known as Pinky Peerni, Bibi has been projected to be a private person, far from Pakistan's politics. But Bibi has often been accused of running the affairs of the party from the back.

Witchcraft, theft, corruption: It's mud-slinging time in Pakistan ahead of a no-confidence vote on PM Imran Khan

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and his third wife, Bushra Bibi, also known as Bushra Riaz, are no strangers to controversies surrounding their personal lives.

But there's a new twist this time: charges of corruption and witchcraft.

The Pakistan National Assembly convenes today for a crucial session, during which a no-confidence resolution against Prime Minister Imran Khan will be introduced.

And there's a new accusation that Bushra Bibi is attempting to save Imran's government through her witchcraft.

Shahbaz Sharif, Pakistan's Leader of the Opposition and frontrunner for Prime Minister, has stated that tonnes of meat are being burned for witchcraft in Imran Khan's Banigala home.

Shahbaz's remark was directed at Bushra Bibi, who calls herself a 'peer' and has been accused of performing witchcraft on numerous occasions.

Pakistan has been on edge since opposition parties filed a no-confidence resolution with the National Assembly Secretariat on March 8, stating that Prime Minister Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf government is to blame for the country's economic problems and spiralling inflation.

Imran Khan, Pakistan's prime minister, has stated he will not quit, despite calls from the opposition to do so ahead of a vote of no confidence in him, which will be his hardest test since taking power in 2018.

What is the order of the numbers?

Imran Khan's PTI has 155 members in the 342-member National Assembly, and it needs at least 172 to continue in power.

On March 27, Khan invited the entire country to the ruling party's power show at Islamabad's Parade Ground, inviting people to join him in "standing against evil."

Who is Bushra Bibi?

In 2018, Khan married Bushra Bibi in a low-key ceremony in Lahore.

Khan took office as Prime Minister six months after they married.

Bushra Bibi is a Pakistani faith healer who is said to possess unusual supernatural abilities.

In Pakistan, she is known as Pinky 'pirni' (holy woman) or Pinki Bibi.

Khan is said to have begun seeking "spiritual counsel" from the holy woman.

Unlike Khan's previous two ex-wives, Jemima Goldsmith and Reham Khan, Bushra Bibi has been a recluse who rarely makes public appearances.
