<p>On Saturday, Buckingham Palace revealed that King Charles III's coronation, which is scheduled for 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London, will feature a star-studded concert, nationwide coronation big lunch&nbsp;and volunteering initiative along with the traditional ceremony and royal processions that usually takes place.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The three days of ceremonial, celebratory and community events will be a chance for "people to come together in celebration of the historic occasion", Buckingham Palace said in a statement to give an update on its much-anticipated plans.</p>

<p>The coronation will be "a solemn religious service, as well as an occasion for celebration and pageantry and it will reflect the Monarch's role today and look towards the future," the palace added.</p>

<p>Charles immediately took the throne as King after Queen Elizabeth died, aged 96, on September 8 last year, ending her record-breaking reign that lasted for 70 years.&nbsp;As the King, he also took over as head of state of 14 Commonwealth countries, including Australia, Canada and New Zealand.</p>

<p>Britain's first coronation since 1953 will be watched worldwide and&nbsp;various global dignitaries will be in attendance. It will begin with Charles' formal crowning at London's Westminster Abbey on May 6, in a tradition dating back more than 900 years.</p>

<p>The service will be conducted by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and&nbsp;will reflect the monarchy's historic traditions alongside its modern role.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Charles' wife, Queen Consort Camilla, will also be crowned at the ceremony.</p>

<p>The pair will arrive from the palace without other royals in "The King's Procession", before returning in a larger ceremonial entourage known as "The Coronation Procession" featuring other family members.&nbsp;</p>

The scheme will be overseen and organised by a team from the Eden Project, the eco-friendly visitor attraction in Cornwall, southwest England.</p>

<p>Camilla has been a patron of its annual "big lunch" initiative, which aims to boost community spirit, reduce loneliness and support charities and good causes, since 2013.</p>

Markle had starred in the US series for seven seasons from June 2011 to April 2018 and gained stardom thanks to the success of the show. She played attorney Rachel Zane while Patrick J Adams portrayed her love interest and eventual husband Mike Ross.<br />
Harry also recounted William and Kate's reaction when they first learned that he was dating Markle. Harry and Meghan were first romantically linked in the summer of 2016.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate have reportedly decided to not watch Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's tell-all documentary 'Harry and Meghan'.&nbsp;<br />

A royal source told Page Six - 'William and Kate's aides have briefed them on the show, but don't expect the couple to sit down in their cottage with a bowl of popcorn to tune in themselves."<br />
<br />
Harry and Meghan have talked about their strained relationship with his brother and sister-in-law throughout the course of the six-part documentary series. Harry even went on to reveal that William has shouted at him when he decided to leave UK and move to the US.<br />
<br />
Early on in his whirlwind courtship with Markle, Harry had a falling out with William and their schism has only gotten worse since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior royal members in January 2020.<br />
<br />
Harry opened up about his decision to move out of the UK after which he met his grandmother the late Queen Elizabeth, his father King Charles and his brother Prince William in Sandringham in January 2020. He revealed that they all decided to meet when Meghan left for Canada, prior to that they avoided any meeting.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
He further added that in the meeting his brother William shouted at him while his father King Charles III lied, and his grandmother watched all of it unravel, sitting there, staying mum.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"I went in with the same proposal I had made publicly. But once I got there, I was given five options. One is all in, no change and five is all out. I chose three, half in half out. Have our own jobs but also support the Queen. But it became very clear very quickly that goal was not up for discussion or debate," said Harry.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and have my father say things that were simply not true. And my grandmother quietly sits there and sort of takes it all in. But you have to understand that from the family perspective, especially from hers, there are ways of doing things and her ultimate goal, mission, slash responsibility is the institution," he added in the documentary.<br />

In the same episode of the documentary series, Harry said that as soon as he came out of the meeting, he was told that a joint statement has been issued on behalf of him and his brother William quashing reports of a rift between them. He said in the documentary series, "A story came out saying part of the reason Meghan and I were leaving was that William had bullied us out."<br />

And soon after, when he came out of the meeting with his brother and father, he was told that a joint statement has been issued in his and William`s name quashing the report.<br />

"Once I got in the car after the meeting, I was told about a joint statement that had been put out in my name and my brother`s name, squashing the story about him bullying us out of the family. I couldn`t believe it. No one had asked me. No one had asked me permission to put out a statement like that."<br />

"Within four hours they were happy to lie to protect my brother and yet for three years they were never willing, to tell the truth, to protect us. There was no other option at this point. I said we need to get out of here," added Harry.&nbsp;<br />

In the clip, the 38-year-old Prince Harry is seen speaking to the camera as he reflects on how he and his wife Meghan Markle struggled with the British tabloids targeting them.&nbsp;<br />

Harry also claimed that he and the former American actress were treated differently from his older brother, Prince William.</p>

The British royal family has once again been accused of racism. This is not the first or last time. The royal family has been embroiled in corruption cases, it has paid a part in slave trade, also been accused of blackmailing lawmakers to safeguard their interests. Priyanka Sharma tells you.

Check. &nbsp;Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new docu-series 'Harry &amp; Meghan,'&nbsp;which had unsettled the British press and reportedly even the royal family with just a trailer, premiered the first three episodes on Netflix on Thursday. Considering the hype around the show, I'd hoped that the couple would perhaps go all out in narrating their story on why they decided to step away from the family (they kept calling it the institution throughout the show). But the first three episodes (each an hour long) did not offer anything new. The couple did not mention anything that we already didn't know about the British royal family or even the paparazzi culture in the UK.</p>

<p>At one point in the first episode, Meghan Markle says, “When the stakes were this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?” And what did we get to know from them? That they had a whirlwind romance that spanned over two continents, that they had first checked each other out on Instagram, and that they loved documenting their meets, dates, walks, and family time like most millennial couples do in the age of social media. Wow, such a big revelation!</p>

<p>The couple spoke in vague pronouns while mentioning the royal family and the media blurring the lines on who they were really putting the blame on. That British media and the royal family have had a love-hate relationship over decades is a known fact. Harry only reiterated it once again, recalling how his mother, the late Princess Diana had fallen prey to it and how he felt the need to protect his family from the same toxic behaviour.</p>

<p>Ironically, it is the same media that's helped the royal family to build an image and create a bridge with the public over the years carefully brushing past its horrifying colonising history. In an era where monarchy the world over is in redundancy, the curiosity and craze around the British royal family continue - primarily because it is fuelled by the media.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, Meghan and Harry have had a very public life- both individually and as a couple. Had Meghan not married Harry, she perhaps would have continued a career in showbusiness which again is aided to a great extent by the media. The two feed off each other.</p>

<p>There's no doubt that the press has been vile on many occasions towards Meghan Markle. Especially bringing unnecessary details about her dysfunctional family in the US, to public focus in the UK. When the couple made the hard decision to step out of the royal family to live a life away from the public eye, I, like many felt it was rather a brave move on their part, especially Harry's. A man who was a product of a broken marriage, but who was shielded by wealth, comfort, and royalty - Harry did take a brave step to move to the US, away from the shadows of his prominent family, attempting to create his own identity. But in the past two years, the only time Harry and Meghan have made headlines is when they have dragged or blamed the British royal family. They are feeding off their past glory, isn't it?</p>

<p>The couple has also had a rather public life post-Megxit. A deal with Netflix, a podcast, books and memoirs, and a life that cannot really be called private, Harry and Meghan are still very much part of the public discourse. So much for wanting privacy.</p>

<p>The three episodes also highlighted how Meghan, who is of mixed parentage, was made aware of her colour post-marriage by 'them'. Meghan pointed out how her colour was not a matter of concern for her until she married Harry. The couple had spoken about facing racism in the royal family during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Back then they had not specified who that member was who had raised concerns about their son, Archie's skin colour. A year down the line, when so much has been written about their accusations, they still steered clear of naming anyone. So how was this really an explosive docu-series?</p>

<p>Harry and Meghan also appeared tone deaf in the addressal of racism and discrimination. Harry comes from a family that had for centuries colonized half of the world. They may have redeemed themselves over the years with carefully curated images in the public eye but the fact of the matter is that the family still hasn't ever openly addressed the horrific past or the grievous mistakes the ancestors had made in so many of the countries. While the episodes do touch upon the family's colonising history, Brexit which made Britain even more secluded, and racial injustice, it never really had Harry talk about the stoic silence that the family maintained all throughout.</p>

<p>The hype around the docuseries also speaks a lot about the audience and the media which has for decades hyped up an establishment that needs to be completely redundant in modern times. Monarchy is dead and so should the interest in royal families. Maybe it is time to introspect- why can't we shrug off our own colonial past and ignore the royal family? I am all for cheering Harry and Meghan if they bring social change to society, but why is it needed to get into details of a family and its internal problems?&nbsp;<br />

That they had a whirlwind romance that spanned over two continents, that they had first checked each other out on Instagram, and that they loved documenting their meets, dates, walks, and family time like most millennial couples do in the age of social media. Wow, such a big revelation! The couple spoke in vague pronouns while mentioning the royal family and the media blurring the lines on who they were really putting the blame on. That British media and the royal family have had a love-hate relationship over decades is a known fact. Harry only reiterated it once again, recalling how his mother, the late Princess Diana had fallen prey to it and how he felt the need to protect his family from the same toxic behaviour. Ironically, it is the same media that's helped the royal family to build an image and create a bridge with the public over the years carefully brushing past its horrifying colonising history. In an era where monarchy the world over is in redundancy, the curiosity and craze around the British royal family continue - primarily because it is fuelled by the media. Unfortunately, Meghan and Harry have had a very public life- both individually and as a couple. Had Meghan not married Harry, she perhaps would have continued a career in showbusiness which again is aided to a great extent by the media. The two feed off each other. There's no doubt that the press has been vile on many occasions towards Meghan Markle. Especially bringing unnecessary details about her dysfunctional family in the US, to public focus in the UK. When the couple made the hard decision to step out of the royal family to live a life away from the public eye, I, like many felt it was rather a brave move on their part, especially Harry's. A man who was a product of a broken marriage, but who was shielded by wealth, comfort, and royalty - Harry did take a brave step to move to the US, away from the shadows of his prominent family, attempting to create his own identity. But in the past two years, the only time Harry and Meghan have made headlines is when they have dragged or blamed the British royal family. They are feeding off their past glory, isn't it? The couple has also had a rather public life post-Megxit. A deal with Netflix, a podcast, books and memoirs, and a life that cannot really be called private, Harry and Meghan are still very much part of the public discourse. So much for wanting privacy. Meghan pointed out how her colour was not a matter of concern for her until she married Harry. The couple had spoken about facing racism in the royal family during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Back then they had not specified who that member was who had raised concerns about their son, Archie's skin colour. A year down the line, when so much has been written about their accusations, they still steered clear of naming anyone. So how was this really an explosive docu-series? Harry and Meghan also appeared tone deaf in the addressal of racism and discrimination. Harry comes from a family that had for centuries colonized half of the world. They may have redeemed themselves over the years with carefully curated images in the public eye but the fact of the matter is that the family still hasn't ever openly addressed the horrific past or the grievous mistakes the ancestors had made in so many of the countries. While the episodes do touch upon the family's colonising history, Brexit which made Britain even more secluded, and racial injustice, it never really had Harry talk about the stoic silence that the family maintained all throughout. The hype around the docuseries also speaks a lot about the audience and the media which has for decades hyped up an establishment that needs to be completely redundant in modern times. Monarchy is dead and so should the interest in royal families. Maybe it is time to introspect- why can't we shrug off our own colonial past and ignore the royal family? I am all for cheering Harry and Meghan if they bring social change to society, but why is it needed to get into details of a family and its internal problems? <p>In one, Harry, 38, appears to accuse some within the royal household of leaking and planting stories about the couple in the British press, calling it "a dirty game".</p>

<p>"No one sees what's going on behind closed doors," the prince says. "We know the full truth," he adds in another clip.</p>

<p>"When the stakes are this high, doesn't it make sense to hear our story from us?" Meghan chips in.</p>

Prince Harry's memoir 'Spare' will release in January 2023

<p>This is one slice of cake that is certainly not meant for eating. A cake slice from Princess Diana and King Charles' wedding went up for auction after&nbsp;41 years. The two got married in 1981 in London and had over 3,000 guests in attendance.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Amongst them was a guest named Nigel Ricketts who passed away last year but had preserved a slice which is now set to be auctioned. The cake will be auctioned off by Dore and Rees Auctions in the UK. The piece of cake had a pre-sale estimate of £300 which is equivalent to more than Rs&nbsp;27,000.</p>

<p>But it was eventually sold for&nbsp;£170 ( ₹15,864), much lower than the estimates.</p>

According to reports, although there were 23 official wedding cakes made for the wedding, the slice seems to have come from the centerpiece fruitcake, which had five layers and was a whopping five feet tall.<br />

A slice of the same cake sold for £1,375 in 2014, which is equivalent to more than INR 1,27,000 (as per current day conversion rate.)</p>

<p>According to New York Post, Ricketts and other royal household members pooled together to purchase a writing table for Charles and Diana as a wedding gift, and Charles appeared to be overjoyed by the present.<br />
