<p>The owner of social media platform X, Elon Musk, on Tuesday (April 23) said that they will challenge an Australian injunction which has asked the platform to remove the videos of the church stabbing incident that took place in Sydney.</p>

<p>An injunction was secured by Australia's internet watchdog late Monday as per which X is supposed to hide videos which allegedly showed someone&nbsp;allegedly&nbsp;slashing a Sydney bishop in the head during a live-streamed sermon.</p>

<p>The pleas of the Australian government to pull down the images were earlier ignored by X and Musk had stated that the company would appeal against the injunction on free speech grounds.</p>

Musk to challenge order on removal of Australian church stabbing videos from X

<p>Former United States president Donald Trump, on Tuesday (Mar 19) said that he would consider kicking out the ex-Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who is currently serving as the Australian ambassador to the US, if he is re-elected. The Australian foreign minister, after Trump’s remarks, said that Rudd is doing a “good job” and they would retain him as ambassador even if the former president takes office again.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>‘Won’t be there long’</strong></h2>

<p>In an interview with former British conservative politician, Nigel Farage, on GB News, Trump took a swipe at Rudd saying that he “won’t be there long” as Australian ambassador to the US.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The former Australian PM has been a vocal critic of Trump and even called him “The most destructive president in history,” in a post on X.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“He drags America and democracy through the mud. He thrives on fomenting, not healing, division. He abuses Christianity, church and bible to justify violence,” the post from 2020 along with a picture of Trump holding a Bible, added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In another post on X, on February 27, 2022, Rudd also called Trump “a traitor to the West”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Sunday (Feb 4) said his government was probing the claims that staff of the UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) was involved in the October 7 terror attacks carried out by Hamas on Israeli territory.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Australia is one of several countries to have halted funding of UNRWA, a critical source of support for millions in Gaza.</p>

<p>"Well, we're examining it, along with other like-minded countries such as Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. And we want that to be resolved," said Albanese.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The issue here is one that’s of deep concern, that this occurred, that there were some involvement. And those allegations need to be fully examined to ensure that every single dollar of aid is going to just that," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Australian PM added that he did not want people "literally dying" in Gaza but his government needed to make sure the money was being spent for the purpose it was sent.</p>

<p>"Well, what we're doing is going through those processes, along with our like-minded allies. But all of us want to see the support for kids in Gaza can't be in a situation where people are literally starving and the only organisation that can provide that support there is UNRWA,"&nbsp;said Albanese.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking further he said, "It has been funded by Australia for a long period of time and funded by our like-minded allies as well. But we want to make sure that the organisation has every single dollar going to the purpose for which it is given."</p>

<p>Over a dozen countries, including the United States, Britain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Canada, Japan, the Netherlands and Australia have paused funding to the aid agency after allegations surfaced that several of its employees had ties with Hamas.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The allegations led to the UNRWA terminating several employees based on the information provided by Israeli authorities. However, many countries are now hesitant to continue the UN agency funding and calling for a thorough investigation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Australia and the United States will announce plans to cooperate on critical minerals and bolster Pacific Islands infrastructure during Prime Minister Anthony&nbsp;Albanese's visit to Washington DC, a senior Biden administration official said.</p>

<p>Albanese's White House schedule began Tuesday, Washington time, and is focused on broadening Australia's security alliance with the United States into an economic and technology partnership,&nbsp;Albanese&nbsp;told reporters in Washington on Monday (Oct 23).</p>

<p>The two leaders will flesh out details of further cyber security cooperation, in addition to a $5 billion Microsoft investment in Australia, the Biden administration official said.</p>

<p>Several announcements, including the infrastructure project, will showcase US-Australia cooperation in the Pacific.</p>

<p>Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s effort to corner India diplomatically over the alleged role of 'agents of government' in the death of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar seems to have failed miserably after its so-called “closest allies” refused to condemn New Delhi over the incident.</p>

<p>Earlier in the day, CBC News, quoting sources from the government, reported that Trudeau briefed the leaders of some of Canada's closest allies, including UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron, and US President Joe Biden.</p>

<p>While Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese didn’t express his opinion on the incident, his British counterpart’s spokesperson said that the Rishi Sunak government’s priority is to secure a trade deal with India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the US officials said that they have been in close contact with&nbsp;their Canadian counterparts about the issue and said they were "quite concerned" about the allegations.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During a press conference on Tuesday (Sep 19) in Canberra, a reporter asked the Albanese whether he personally raised concerns with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at this month's G20 meeting in India over the death of the Khalistan terrorist.</p>

<h2><strong>'Chill out': Albanese deflects question</strong></h2>

<p>"Your foreign ministry says it's raised concerns with the Indian government about its alleged role in the death of a Sikh activist in Canada, have you raised those concerns personally with Mr Modi at the G20, and do you regret calling him a boss when he visited in Australia?" the reporter asked.&nbsp;</p>

But with regards to the current negotiations with India, these are negotiations about a trade deal, and we're not looking to conflate them with other issues.”</p>

<h2><strong>US is 'quite concerned' about&nbsp;allegations</strong></h2>

<p>A&nbsp;senior State Department official told reporters that they have been in&nbsp;close contact with their Canadian counterparts about allegations&nbsp;against the Indian government and urged New Delhi&nbsp;to cooperate with the investigation.</p>

<p>"We have been in close contact with our Canadian colleagues about this. We're quite concerned about the allegations. <p>The Australian government will cancel a lease held by the Russian Federation for its second embassy in the country right next to the Parliament House. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Thursday morning that the lease would be cancelled due to national security concerns, and a bill has been introduced in&nbsp;the parliament regarding the same. The bill reportedly has bipartisan support, and the prime minister expects it to pass both chambers of the parliament in a day itself.</p>

<p>“Today, the government will introduce legislation to terminate the Russian Federation's lease for a proposed diplomatic presence just next to Parliament House. We anticipate this legislation will pass both the House of Representatives and the Senate this morning," Albanese was quoted as saying by the Australian media.</p>

<p>"We're acting quickly to ensure the leased site does not become a formal diplomatic presence," the prime minister added.</p>

<h2><strong>Why the bill has been introduced?</strong></h2>

<p>The bill has been introduced in an effort to circumvent a recent Federal Court ruling that declared an eviction order by the National Capital Authority unlawful, thus paving the way for Russia to erect a sovereign structure in the close vicinity of the Parliament House.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The decision to introduce the bill was made during a meeting of the government's national security committee at the end of last month, and Home Affairs Minister Clare O'Neil is set to present it today to enforce the cancellation of the lease.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Prue Car:</strong> I have the joy of not only being an Indian, my father came here with his family, I have the joy of representing my own community full of people that are migrating from India making Sydney their home. It is growing faster than any other community in this country focused on education and providing for children.</p>

<p><strong>WION:</strong> <strong>Why should they come to New South Wales for education? And what opportunities do they have in this part of Australia?</strong></p>

<p><strong>Prue Car:</strong> Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world. We welcome people coming from India, and emerging industries in Sydney. Right opportunities for university studies. Emerging technologies, a lot of jobs, the sky's the limit for migrants coming. Because of all the students who come over to Australia to study, many of them stay and they have their own families, that's part of why the Indian diaspora is so strong here.</p>

<p><strong>WION: How do you see the mobility pact pay-way for the legal migration of Indians to Australia? How do you see that?</strong></p>

<p><strong>Prue Car</strong>: We will see the results of a productive relationship; we have seen one of the great friendships between PM Albanese and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We have seen some deliverable concrete things have come from that. I would love to be a part of a future seeing them flourish and seeing more developments, especially in education and what we can do together in education.</p>

<p><strong>WION: Are we expecting more name change that brings together the Indian Australian diaspora and also in terms of the names of the location being changed?</strong></p>

<p><strong>Prue Car:</strong> I'd be very open to that. There are some parts of my own community/ in my own district that I represent in western Sydney where there are very large migrants.</p>

<p>The two leaders discussed wide-ranging issues with a focus on boosting ties in areas of trade and investment, defence and renewable energy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ahead of the talks, the Indian prime minister signed the visitors’ book at the Admiralty House, where he was accorded a Ceremonial Guard of Honour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the presser after the talks, Albanese thanked PM Modi for visiting his country. He said, "This is my sixth meeting with Modi within one year. We both are targeting renewable cooperation with our task forces."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"My visit to India in March defines, trade, business &amp; people to people links," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>India-Australia ties in ‘T20’ mode: PM Modi&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>During the presser, PM Modi said that he is "very pleased and thankful" for the welcome he received during the Australia visit. He also hailed the respect given to him and the delegation during the tour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Using a cricket analogy while referring to the sixth meeting with PM Albanese within a year, PM Modi said, "Our sixth meet, defines in cricket language, our relationship is in T20 mode."&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added, "Our ties are based on mutual trust and respect. In our talks, we discussed comprehensive strategy for the next decade and also discussed India and Australia’s unity. This will further strengthen our partnership and look for fresh avenues together."&nbsp;<br />

<p>“We discussed taking India-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights. We decided to focus on comprehensive economic cooperation agreement that will further boost economic ties and held detailed discussions on scope of cooperation in new areas,” PM Modi said in the joint presser after the talks.</p>

<p>Australian prime minister said he is "pleased" to launch Australian consulate in Bengaluru, and PM Modi also said that India will open a Consulate in Brisbane just like Australian Consulate in Bengaluru.</p>

<p>PM Modi also said that they discussed attacks and vandalism on Hindu temples in Australia. He said, "PM Anthony Albanese and I have in the past discussed the issue of attacks on temples in Australia and activities of separatist elements. We discussed the matter today also."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We will not accept any elements that harm the friendly and warm ties between India and Australia by their actions or thoughts. PM Albanese assured me once again today that he will take strict actions against such elements in the future also."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian prime minister said, "PM Albanese and I have discussed in Quad Summit, about the peace in the region. We have discussed issues in the Indo-Pacific region."</p>

<p>India and Australia finalised the Economic Cooperation Trade Agreement (ECTA) last year and it came into force in December last.&nbsp;The two sides are now working on the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Albanese said on Monday: "Australia and India share a commitment to a stable, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific. Together, we have an important role to play in supporting this vision."&nbsp;</p>

<p>In June 2020, India and Australia elevated their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership and signed a landmark deal for reciprocal access to military bases for logistics support.&nbsp;</p>
