The Australian prime minister claimed the meeting to be "positive and constructive." Both leaders spoke at a gala dinner on Saturday night at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) conference in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, AFP reported.&nbsp;

Under the previous Australian conservative government, relations with China had deteriorated to an all-time low, and Albanese's administration is all set to mend ties.

Albanese said it was for the best that this meeting occurred. "I've said repeatedly about the relationship with China -- that we should cooperate where we can and that dialogue was always a good thing."

The Labor leader is also expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali.&nbsp;

Personal data of millions of customers of Australia’s largest health insurer Medibank was leaked online on Wednesday, a month after it was stolen by hackers.

The data of around 9.7 million Medibank customers was posted online after the insurer refused to pay a ransom.

Among the customers of Medibank is Prime Minister Anthony Albanese who expressed concern that his personal information, among those leaked, might also be available to the public.

"This is really tough for people," he said on Wednesday, according to BBC.

Data relating to medical procedure history, along with names, addresses, birthdates and government ID numbers, were said to have been leaked online.

Around midnight, a ransomware group, whose identity is unknown, posted on its darknet blog that “data will be published in 24 hours”.

“P.S. I recommend to sell medibank stocks.” More data will be posted soon, the blogpost says.

Medibank chief executive David Koczar in a statement termed the data leak as a “distressing development”, but has remained silent on whether the same group was involved in the breach with which the company was communicating for ransom.

The Bali bombings occurred on 12 October 2002 in the tourist district of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali. It is one of the world's deadliest militant attacks.&nbsp;

The attack had left 202 people dead, including 88 Australians and 38 Indonesian citizens. More than 200 people were injured.&nbsp;

The attack on October 12, 2002, involved the detonation of three bombs, including a car bomb that exploded outside the Sari Club in Bali's Kuta Beach area. An almost simultaneous blast took place at the Paddy's Bar across the road.&nbsp;

To pay respect&nbsp;and remember the victims, commemorations were held in Australia’s Parliament House in Canberra on Wednesday.&nbsp;

Reports have mentioned that the attacks aimed to scare away foreigners so that Indonesia could eventually become part of a larger Islamic caliphate.&nbsp;

India's external affairs minister Dr S Jaishankar will be travelling to Australia later this month. The visit will be the first such visit from Delhi since the new Albanese government took charge. Since the new government came in Australia, both PM Narendra Modi and PM Anthony Albanese have met on the sidelines of the Quad in-person meeting in Tokyo which was followed by the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles.

Interestingly, during the India visit, Richard flew aboard the Indian Navy's P8i becoming the first minister from a foreign country to do so. P8i is a maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft.

The visit comes in the backdrop of India's thwarting China's attempt to pass an anti-Aukus resolution at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) meet in Vienna. The Aukus pact was signed between Australia, United Kingdom and United States last year under which Canberra gets nuclear-powered submarines.

Optus cyber attack: Australia plans privacy change, says prime minister

After completing 100 days in office, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in his speech stated that his government is working on jobs and workplace reform as the country earlier faced economic challenges during the coronavirus pandemic’s recovery phase.

The prime minister in conversation with National Press Club said that this week, a government-sponsored job summit will bring together important company and union groups to talk about the workplace and wage growth.

Albanese said, “Australia is already in the 'recovery' phase - and that's presenting its own economic challenges. Including significant and unpredictable supply and demand imbalances which are driving up costs, for businesses and families,” Reuters reported.

He criticised the nine years of conservative rule, citing “chaos” in sectors of energy policy and stagnant salaries. He emphasised the step his administration had previously done to address climate change, its determination to hold a referendum to ask voters whether or not to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the country’s constitution.

The country’s central bank issued a warning stating inflation rate in the country is on track to reach three- decades high requiring an increase in interest rates and economic growth.

"This government made a commitment before the election that, if elected, we would allow the family to return to Biloela and resolve the family's immigration status," said Giles.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Priya Nadaraja, elated at the decision remarked, "Now I know my daughters will get to grow up safely in Australia. Now my husband and I can live without fear."

Priya Nadaraja, Nades Murugappan and their daughters&nbsp;Kopika and Tharnicaa had been living in an&nbsp;immigration detention centre after Priya's visa expired, back in 2018. The couple's request for being included in the mainstream with the 'refugee' status was turned down by the government, repeatedly.&nbsp;

It is pertinent to note that Priya and her husband arrived in the down under country after fleeing Sri Lanka on refugee boats. This was nearly a decade ago. The couple soon met each other, got married and had two kids.

But soon trouble came their way as the Australian government detained them, citing they did not have any legal rights to stay in Australia. First transferred to an immigration detention centre in Melbourne, the family was later shifted to a detention centre on Christmas Island, where they spent the majority of the last two years, fighting courtroom immigration battles.&nbsp;

However, after the government&nbsp;changed and labour Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his administration came to power, good news came for the&nbsp;Nadesalingam family.

In June, the family was granted a bridging visa and allowed in Biloela, a town in Queensland, from where they were detained four years back by the border force agents in a 5 AM raid.&nbsp;

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has inducted a record 13 women cabinet ministers, including the first female Muslim, in Australia's new government on Wednesday—compared to 7 women ministers in Scott Morrison’s liberal government.

Apart from that, Industry Minister Ed Husick and Youth Minister Anne Ali became the first Muslim ministers in the Australian federal government.

The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Governor-General David Hurley in the capital Canberra city where 23 ministers were inducted on Wednesday.

“Proud to lead an inclusive government that is as diverse as Australia itself. Welcome to all these new Labor members,” the new PM tweeted.

Of the 30 ministers appointed to the new government, nearly half are women. Women also hold a record 10 spots out of 23 in core Cabinet roles.

“This is the largest number of women ever in an Australian cabinet with 10 women in the cabinet. In addition to that … there are 13 women in the ministry and 19 frontbenchers [which includes assistant ministers]. A record number, in all three categories for women’s representation – in the cabinet, in the ministry and frontbench positions,” Guardian quoted Albanese as saying on Tuesday night.

Barry O'Farrell: The Australian PM has already been clear what he likes to do is, to further accelerate the economic partnership between both countries. Also, partnership in relation to renewable energy. India is doing enormous things across the country in terms of switching towards renewables. Australia believes we can not only assist that but can learn from India that we are doing the same thing back home.

From cyber security to maritime security or climate change, vaccines or health issues, those issues do not have a finish line, but at the heart of the quad is a commitment to a free, open, and secure Indo Pacific. That is the vision we share with other countries in the region who want to sign up to a world in which sovereign nations are respected, where there is freedom and openness within the countries.

As per the US, the deal will provide a way to sort through key issues from climate change to supply chain resilience and digital trade to the countries that join. Although, the deal doesn't offer tariff relief or market access to the countries.&nbsp;

The framework will help countries together to negotiate the various aspects of trade and also to discuss how to consider potential future members, including China, which is not taking part, officials told reporters. Taiwan was also left out of the initial talks.&nbsp;
