Bharatiya Janata Party leader Anant Kumar Hedge on Monday claimed on Monday that former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis was state's CM for 80 hours to divert Rs 40,000 crore central funds, news agency ANI report stated. ''You all know our man in Maharashtra became CM for 80 hours. Then, Fadnavis resigned. Why did he do this drama? Didn't we know that we don't have the majority and yet he became CM? This is the question everyone is asking,'' Hedge said. Hegde continued ''A CM has access to around Rs 40,000 Cr from Centre. He knew if Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena govt comes to power it would misuse funds meant for development. So it was decided that there should be a drama. Fadnavis became CM and in 15hrs he moved Rs40,000 Cr back to Centre.'' In an early morning drama, Fadnavis was sworn-in as Maharashtra CM on November 23 claiming to have the support of NCP's Ajit Pawar. The government lasted for 80 hours after Ajit Pawar resigned as deputy chief minister after failing to get the support of NCP MLAs he claimed to have had. Subsequently, Fadnavis quit the office the same day. After Fadnavis’ resignation, the three-party alliance of Sena, NCP and Congress, known as Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA), staked claim to form a government in the state. Sena president Uddhav Thackeray took oath as chief minister at Mumbai’s iconic Shivaji Park on Thursday. Thackeray-led MVA passed the floor test in the assembly on Saturday with the support of 169 MLAs. The halfway mark in the assembly is 299-member Maharashtra assembly is 145.

Holtzberg, who was crying seeing the dead bodies of his parents, was daringly rescued by his nanny Sandra Samuels, who was hiding in a room downstairs when the attack happened. "Your story continues to inspire everyone. It is one of miracle and hope overcoming tragedy and immeasurable loss", PM Modi wrote in the letter that was read by Sanjeev Singla, India's Ambassador to Israel.

“As you make this important transition and cross a significant landmark in the journey of your life, the courage of [nanny] Sandra [Samuel] and prayers of the people of India will continue to bless you for a long, healthy and successful life,” Modi said as he congratulated Holtzberg for his Bar Mitzvah yesterday.

Bar Mitzvah is a significant ceremony performed for Jewish boys when they turn 13 and some Israeli scholars relate it with upnayana or the thread ceremony. Holtzberg turned 13 according to the Gregorian calendar on November 28.

PM Modi also said that the terrorists failed to subdue their "vibrant diversity" and their "spirit" to move forward. "Today, India and Israel stand together even more determined against terrorism and hatred", PM Modi wrote.

The prime minister also remembered his visit to Israel in 2017 when he met Holtzberg and hoped that his wish of returning to Mumbai as the director of Chabad House comes true.

"I hope I will be able to visit Mumbai, and when I get older, live there. I will be the director of our Chabad House...I love you and your people in India," Holtzberg told PM Modi in 2017 during the later's visit.

Modi responded to Holtzberg by saying that he and his family members can come to India anytime they wish to and they will be issued long-time visas too.

Recently, India marked the 11th anniversary of the Mumbai attacks that were carried out on November 26, which killed at least 166 people and injured over 300.

Shah also showered praised on the Modi government in Centre and Raghubar Das's government in the state, adding that because of their efforts in the last five years, Naxalism ended in Jharkhand clearing the path for development in the state.

The BJP president also assured the people of the state that National Register of Citizens (NRC) will be implemented in the entire country before the 2024 general election.

The elections in Jharkhand are underway and the state voted for the first phase on November 30. The voting for the next phase will be held on December 20 covering 20 assembly constituencies. The fifth and final phase will go to polls on December 20 and the results will declared on December 23.

India will unveil a series of infrastructure projects this month as part of a plan to invest 100 trillion rupees ($1.39 trillion) in the sector over the next five years, the finance minister said on Saturday, in a push to improve the country's economy.

Nirmala Sitharaman's comments, as cited in local newspapers, followed data released on Friday that showed India's economic growth slowed to 4.5% in the July-September quarter - its weakest pace since 2013 - upping the pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government to speed reforms.

"A set of officers are looking into the pipeline of projects that can be readied so that once the fund is ready, it could be front-loaded on these projects," Sitharaman said at a business summit in Mumbai, the newspapers reported.

"That task is nearly completed. Before December 15, we will be able to announce frontloading of at least ten projects," she said.

Modi came to power in 2014 on the promise to improve India's economy and boost foreign investments, but he has struggled to meet those aims due to a lack of structural reforms. Modi won a second term in May and has taken various measures since 2014 to spur growth, including cutting the corporate tax and speeding up privatisation of state-run firms.

But several economic indicators show domestic consumption is weak, and many economists expect the current slowdown could persist for another two years.
