Superstar Rajinikanth is recovering well. On Friday (Oct 4), the veteran actor was discharged from a private hospital in Chennai after four days of hospitalisation. The actor was taken to the hospital on September 30 after he complained of discomfort.

Since the day of his hospitalisation, several politicians, actors, and millions of fans, expressed concern about his health and have been praying for the actor's health during his time in the hospital.

Soon after he was discharged from the hospital, the superstar thanked all his well-wishers, fans and friends for their support.

In a note penned in Tamil (translated to English), he wrote, “My heartfelt thanks to my politician friends, colleagues in cinema, my friends, well-wishers, and media friends for hoping a speedy recovery for me after recently being hospitalised. Moreover, a special thanks to the people who made me, my fans who have prayed for my well-being with their limitless love.”

He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for personally checking on him.

In a post shared on X, he wrote: “My dear honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji … my heartfelt thanks to you for your care and concern regarding my health and checking on me personally 🙏🏻.”

In another post, he thanked actor Amitabh Bachchan, who he worked with in his recent movie Vettaiyan. The movie will be released on October10.

In a separate post, he wrote, "Thank you @SrBachchan ji for your love and showing such warm concern towards me …truly touched."

Rajinikanth was discharged from hospital after undergoing elective surgery this past week.

In a statement issued by the hospital, they revealed that Rajinikanth had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method.

On the work front, he will next be seen in Vettaiyan, which will be his 170th movie. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the movie features a stunning star cast comprising Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Rithika Singh, Kishore, and Abhirami, among others.
