Every year on the 11th of July, World Population day is celebrated. It&nbsp;is celebrated globally, so as to create awareness regarding the global population issues. Established by the United Nations Development&nbsp;Programme (UNDP)&nbsp;in 1989, people have observed World Population Day for more than 30 years.&nbsp;As overpopulation has become one of the major concerns in today's time with the world population increasing rapidly day by day, it&nbsp;is of much significance now. Family planning should be taught to people all over the world so that the rapidly increasing global population can be somewhat slowed down. Overpopulation puts pressure on the existing resources and hence it may pose problems for future generations. The UNDP aims to make people aware of all these issues that overpopulation can create. According to a report by the United Nations Population Fund, it is expected that&nbsp;the world population will hit the 8 billion mark in 2022.&nbsp;

<h2>World Population Day 2022: History and Significance&nbsp;</h2>

The United Nations Development Programme established&nbsp;World Population Day in 1989. This was done soon after the world population crossed the 5 billion mark on July 11, 1987. The United Nations also, by resolution 45/216, in&nbsp;December 1990 had decided to continue observing World Population Day in order to increase awareness&nbsp;regarding existing population issues and also their relations to the environment and development. The day holds a lot of significance because of the issue of overpopulation and hence&nbsp;it is very important to raise awareness. It&nbsp;poses a risk not only to the environment or resources, but also to the mothers and children, who may face health problems or the family may face financial problems.

<h2>What is the theme of World Population Day 2022?</h2>

The theme for this year's World Population Day is,&nbsp;"A world of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all – Harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all".

The theme focuses on the problems that people are facing due to overpopulation and mentions that all the 8 billion people living in the world don't have equal rights and opportunities,&nbsp;due to overpopulation, discrimination and inequality increase. Some have access to adequate resources while some cannot even get the basic necessities like food and water. Gender-based discrimination, violence, discrimination based on class and other things are still faced by many people around the world.

Eid-ul-Adha special: 5 traditional delicious dishes to plate this Eid

Eid al Adha is one of the biggest and most important festivals in Islam. It celebrates the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim to Allah, who sacrificed his son Ismail. The festival is celebrated across the world and offerings are shared among people. Like other Islamic festivals, it also depends on the lunar conditions, hence dates vary every year.&nbsp;Eid al Adha refers to the "festival of sacrifice", in which an animal is sacrificed to prove the devotion to Allah after which the offerings are distributed among family and friends and also given to people in need. The god replaced Prophet Ibrahim's son with a lamb, which is the reason why an animal is sacrificed in the festival. Prayer is done in mosques before the sacrifice, in which a huge number of people gather. The festival is usually known as Bakra Eid, Greater Eid,&nbsp;Hari Raya Haji, and Eid Al Kabeer. The festival is celebrated almost for four days. Just a day before the festival,&nbsp;Haj is conducted. Haj is&nbsp;the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. UAE has even announced a four-day long holiday for the festival from July 8 to July 11.

Prince Harry has won the first stage of a libel case against Associated Newspaper Limited (ANL) - the publisher of the tabloid Mail On Sunday as a judge on Friday ruled that parts of a story about his fight for police protection in the UK were defamatory.&nbsp;

High Court Justice Matthew Nicklin hasn't yet considered issues such as whether the story was accurate or in the public interest, defences that the newspaper will be able to offer in the next phase of the proceedings.
The suit revolves around the newspaper's coverage of a separate High Court action Harry filed in an effort to force authorities to provide police protection for the prince and his family when they are in the UK.

The British government withdrew the family's round-the-clock protection when Harry and his wife, Meghan quit their roles as senior members of the royal family and moved to California, US.&nbsp;

On Feb. 20, 2022, the Mail on Sunday reported that Harry sought a 'far-reaching confidentiality order' &nbsp;to keep the details of his action against the government secret.

Despite public statements by his spin doctors that the prince had always been willing to pay for police protection, that offer wasn't made in his initial bid to overturn the government's decision, the newspaper said.

Harry claims that the Mail on Sunday libelled him when it suggested that the prince lied in his initial public statements about the suit against the government and that he "cynically" tried to confuse the public by authorising his representatives to put out "false and misleading statements" about his willingness to pay for police protection.
Nicklin ruled that the "natural or ordinary meaning" of the article was defamatory. But he stressed that the decision didn't apply to other issues in the case.

"This is very much the first phase in a libel claim" the judge wrote in his decision.

"The next step will be for the defendant to file a defense to the claim. It will be a matter for determination later in the proceedings whether the claim succeeds or fails, and if so on what basis," he further added.&nbsp;

Introduction

There are numerous ways to define popular culture. Popular culture influences people's beliefs and values. Popular culture plays a vital role in defining the term Culture. It consists of various cultural elements in a society mainly using the media such as TV, radio, and even though modern days social media. According to some scholars, popular culture is just the leftover of high culture in society. Popular culture in this context is defined as a great category which tries to accommodate mass people's culture, texts and practices and the culture which fails to prove as a high culture according to the aristocrats and the leaders within the society. Pierre Bourdieu, a French socialist argues that cultural distinctions, that is the distinction between the high culture and low culture, are often used to define class distinctions. For him, culture is Predisposed, consciously and deliberately or not. Popular culture claims that the destination is mass commercial culture, whereas high culture claims that a destination is an individual act of creation.

Another way to define popular culture is ‘mass culture'. This definition is substantially based on the previous one. Many believe that popular culture is a hopelessly commercial culture.&nbsp;Popular culture is believed to be produced for mass consumption. Those who are a part of&nbsp;popular culture usually keep in mind the golden age that is the previous generation. This usually takes place in 2 different ways

● A lost organic community

● A lost folk culture

For example, It has been found that American culture has turned out to be a more efficient&nbsp;popular culture than other cultures. Foods like Mcdonald's and KFC are found in almost all&nbsp;countries and are easily available.

History of Popular Culture

During the early period, most people were spread in small cities and states, at that time they were not known to any form of popular culture as people at that time were divided into small groups. With the beginning of the Industrial Era, the rural masses began to migrate to cities, leading to the formation of urbanisation.

Urbanisation is the only step in the formation of popular culture. People used to live in small rural villages in small groups but as the urbanisation grew and as they started growing into larger groups and crowds the adaption of popular culture also started increasing. Thus, many scholars have found that the beginning of popular culture led to the rise of the middle class during the industrial revolution. Industrialisation brought up many developments and advancements such as various types of transportation such as steam, locomotive advancement in building infrastructure, improvements in education and health and the evolution of writing in leaves to writing in printed pages all this led to the creation of popular culture. Popular culture is largely influenced by the mass media in this modern ERA. Television all has a certain form of influence on creating popular culture. As a result, urbanisation, industrialisation, the mass media and the advancement of technology led to the total creation of popular culture. This totalled to the shaping of pop culture.

Reflection on the study of Popular Culture

However, During my study about high culture and popular culture. I found out that this division between the two types is not so clear to me. William Shakespeare is now considered high culture, even though his work was once considered popular theatre in the&nbsp;nineteenth century. The same argument can also be done with the famous writing work done by Charles Dickens. Similarly, Film Noir has crossed the borders separating popular and high culture. However, Luciano Pavarotti's performance of Puccini's Nessun Dorma is a recent example of cultural flow travelling in one direction. Even the staunchest defenders of high culture would not want tenor or Puccini to be barred from their chosen domain.

Pavorti, on the other hand, was able to get 'nessun Dorma' to number one in the British Charts in the 1990s. Such a commercial triumph. He added that it was now humiliating for him to play the song because he didn't want people to think his musical taste was influenced solely by the fact that it was "the official BBC Grandstand World Cup Theme." Other students teased and laughed. Pavarotti performed a free concert at London's Hyde Park on July 30, 1991. The concert was expected to draw 250000 people, however, due to heavy weather, the attendance was only&nbsp;approximately 100000. This concert puts an interest in the people regarding the concept of popular culture.

This popularity of the event put a question on the excitation of the differences between popular culture and high culture. In the early days, concerts were mainly attended by the ethnic class people. This concert, really put a question mark on the differences between the extensions of high culture and popular culture.&nbsp;

This example clearly demonstrates that the cultural divide between high and low cultures is no longer as visible as it once was.&nbsp;

It has been seen that the popular culture is generally different for different countries, according to the research most of the country's popular culture is nowadays changing. For example, Western countries have found out that eating unhealthy food has created a bigger issue, diseases like obesity, diabetes etc are rapidly increasing and dealing with mental illness is a huge issue.

It has been found that slowly the western countries are now getting influenced by India and slowly have started to do yoga to deal with these issues. Doing yoga keeps your body, and mind in peace. While yoga was first discovered in India. On the opposite side, Indian scholars and people are now getting influenced by western culture and slowly and steadily the younger generation prefers to go to the gym in India rather than do yoga.&nbsp;

As a result, from both countries' perspectives, I found out that popular culture is really a&nbsp;controversial term. It has a negative as well as a positive side&nbsp;

● Positive in the sense, that due to the growth of social media and technology we are getting&nbsp;to know each country's popular culture.

● And, Negative in the sense that due to the growth and the advancement of technology&nbsp;slowly and steadily each country is reading their traditional culture and adopting other countries' culture. For example, as this yoga was first discovered in India according to Vedas, and Upanishad while it has been seen nowadays yoga is slowly been adopted by western countries. While on the other hands GYM is a part of western countries the first GYM was introduced in 2000 BC was first found by Egyptians and Greek , but now during this modern times due the growing and evolution of GYM it also now been adopted by the Indian people .

How much money do you need to lead an “ideal life”? Watch this report to know more.

The Good Life | How rich do you want to be?

I started this&nbsp;habit of eating healthy&nbsp;during the country-wide shut down due to the pandemic. We were all home, eating home-cooked meals, scrolling through Instagram feeds, sitting in one place the entire day and gaining body weight.&nbsp;As soon as I realised, I had&nbsp;already added some extra pounds to my body.

Just like we all do, I started cutting down my regular diet without burning any calories. Or in simpler terms, I would say, I started dieting because that’s the easier way out. Here’s where I got it wrong. Dieting isn’t about simply cutting down your food intake. It’s an approach taken to gain vitamins, proteins, minerals, carbs, fats, and all sort of dietary fibres required by the body in a balanced manner.

It isn’t about limiting just fats or carbs but eating a variety of foods obtained naturally and cooked properly. This change in my viewpoint has brought remarkable results.

I started adding an ample amount of fresh vegetables and fruits to my diet. I kept&nbsp;myself hydrated with Green Tea, Cucumber water, Lime juice and Iced Tea. Anti-oxidants present in fresh fruits and tea leaves nourished my body from within and protected it from diseases. And most importantly, they satisfied&nbsp;my cravings for appetizers. Also, I’ve completely cut down my regular sugar intake but I do pamper my sweet tooth with a cupcake or a pastry now and then. I have limited oily food to a certain extent but I enjoy the pleasure of ginger tea and fritters on a rainy evening. I generally eat small portions at regular intervals because an empty gut decreases my productivity and an excessively stuffed one makes me bloated. So I made peace with the segments. Once you divide, you rule!

My point is balancing your daily diet in a smarter way would yield better results rather than sulking on starvation. You don’t need to do Keto, Intermittent or any form of diet in order to stay fit. Your body needs nutrients to function, make sure you know how to provide it. Depriving yourself completely from carbs and fats might help you lose weight faster but won’t be beneficial in the long run. It can affect your mood and make you weak physically.

Stuffing your body with excessive proteins might lead to breakouts and excessive consumption of fibres might lead to bloating and constipation. Even drinking too much water might make you lose electrolytes, thus leading to low sodium levels in the body. The body can perform its best when it’s supplied with all the nutrients in an adequate quantity. Too much of anything might disturb the natural cycle.

Adapting these minor changes in my eating habits has brought a huge transformation in my body. It was my take on staying healthy. You might be having other approaches working well for you. Intermittent fasting has proved beneficial to a lot of people. Many are doing great on Keto diet. Nutritionists are coming up with tons of other ways to stay fit and healthy. Any form of diet is good if it works for your body. The secret is not to overdo it.

I started this habit of eating healthy during the country-wide shut down due to the pandemic. We were all home, eating home-cooked meals, scrolling through Instagram feeds, sitting in one place the entire day and gaining body weight.

Our existence on this planet is inextricably linked to the millions of species that also call it their home. Of them, there are many that made their way into our hearts as pets. Our bonding with pets doesn't need an introduction. From celebrities flaunting their pets to people buying pet specific accessories, from visiting pet cafes to having pet crematoriums, from crying when a dog dies in a movie to watching cat videos on loop, we undeniably are in love.

Animal lovers understand that having a pet is not only a responsibility but a privilege. In a world like this, it is a privilege to have a heart that cares for a voiceless creature. If you have one such, you mustn't wait to read these books about humans' glorious bond with their companion animals. While the ones that are made into movies are already celebrated, I tried to mention those which I felt are underrated.

'Felix the Railway Cat' by Kate Moore:
Felix is Huddersfield Station's Senior Pest Controller and Chief Happiness Officer. As the station was yearning for a cat, an employee rescued a pregnant cat which eventually birthed Felix. First mistaken to be a male, Felix won the hearts of all the employees of the station, including those who didn't have an affinity to cats. Workplaces of Tata, Amazon and Google have made headlines for bringing dogs to the office because, why not?
The book describes Felix's growth, her skills, naughtiness, tricks, achievements and most importantly, her relationship with the staff and commuters of the station. When a regular commuter creates a facebook page, Felix rose to fame.
The author writes about Felix with immense empathy and vivid descriptions, as though she is writing about one of us. The second reason I love this book is the way it is narrated, with the right amount of wit, emotion and seriousness. The first reason is apparently the cover.

'Wild and Wilful' by Neha Sinha
This is undoubtedly my favourite Indian book about animals so far. Neha Sinha, a wildlife conservationist talks about select rare Indian species of animals in detail, her work with them and the bias she faced as a woman close to wildlife. Neha and her fellow women are met with judging looks when they work with wild animals, more so in villages.
While giving the scientific information, Neha also adds a humane angle to the whole human-animal conflict. She talks about animals with empathy and kindness. The book covers various aspects ranging from laws and policies on paper to the ground reality that tribal and rural people have to face. It constantly reiterates that wild animals are living things that have feelings. Neha also talks to fellow conservationists and researchers to bring out the facts and curb the myths about so-called cruel animals.
We need more people to read, write and be like her to save animals because it is already too late.

'The Traveling Cat Chronicles' by Hiro Arikawa
It is only a coincidence that I read this book during a long travel.
Found under Satoru's car, Nana didn't take much time to get into his house. Having lost his fond cat Hachi as a kid Satoru dotes over Nana. However, circumstances compel Satoru to give Nana up for adoption. Thus begins their long journey from one city to another, from van to train, requesting quite a few of his friends to adopt Nana. At each stage, we meet Satoru's friends and the various instances that shaped his life. None of the adoptions worked. During the journey, Nana experiences new places, new friends and of course, some troubles. He is smart enough to know what is going on and stubborn enough to not leave Satoru's side ever. What persuades Satoru to give up the apple of his eye and how their journey culminates is for you to read.
As we see shelters overflowing with recklessly abandoned pets, it is heartwarming to read about someone take this commitment. This story depicts how our pets are going to be with us and they should be, no matter what. Reading Nana's point of view felt like communicating with animals, which we normally can't do. That is what makes the story extremely personal. Through Nana, the author presents the thoughts of our pets - about us, about other animals, about life and the world in general. They think much more than they show. They understand what we don't tell.
Nana talks to us, questions us, makes us laugh, cry, wonder and think. If it had such profound impact on me, a dog person who never had a cat, I can only imagine how touching it will leave cat owners.

'A dog's life: The Autobiography&nbsp;of a Stray' by Ann&nbsp;M Martin
For someone who fosters the dogs of her street, this book is a gift. In my opinion, it is the best description of the life of a stray.
The story, as the name suggests, is the autobiography of a puppy born as a nobody. The author takes us through the stormy life that leads her way home. However, there are bleak chances of strays finding loving homes, in real life.
Our protagonist is named Squirrel. Squirrel and Bone are born in an abandoned toolshed. Before they could learn the essential survival skills, they lost their mother. Squirrel is later seperated from Bone too. Thereon, she fights everyday for her survival.
Considering how the author breathes life into Squirrel, it isn't a surprise that she owns a dog and cats. It is vital to remember that the dog may be fictional but the story is not. Every dog we see on the road is as helpless and disadvantaged as Squirrel. In multiple incidents, the author shows how humans let down the man's best friend.
It is a must-read for people working with dog shelters or in an individual capacity.

'Laika's Window' by Kurt Caswell
Once an anonymous mongrel on the streets of Moscow, Laika is now immortalised. To say that she sacrificed her life would be an understatement. It is a joy that sending animals to space is banned now. What happened to Laika is unfair, to say the least.
The author, through poetic and empathetic descriptions, writes what Laika might have gone through during the grueling process. Did she know that she was being sent on a one-way mission? Did she understand why she was being subjected to unbearable torture? When she looked out of the window of her spacecraft, what did she see?
This book depicts how an innocent little girl lost in the space war between two countries and suffered in the name of science. It was a tough read for me, contemplating how we claim to love dogs yet are willing to let them die so that we explore the cosmos. I appreciate that the author concerned enough about Laika to present the whole event from her point of view. Reading this is sure to leave one in thought, for we have known Laika merely as a dog that died in space; never as a living thing that suffered till the very end.

Are you a pet parent? Here are 5 books that you absolutely should not miss

It has been often argued and believed that women are more vulnerable than men. However, the latest suicide figures pertaining to the year 2020 of National Crime Records Bureau tells a different story. The suicide cases of males are more than double than that of females. As per the data, there were 1,53,052 suicide deaths in the year 2020 which means 419 suicide deaths per day. Male suicide deaths consisted of 1,08,532 (70.91%) while female suicide deaths consisted of 44,498 (29.07%), and the balance of 22 suicide deaths consisted of transgenders.

Such huge suicide cases of men may be attributed to gender stereotype. There is a generalized view about attributes that are ought to be possessed by males and females. Men are perceived to be agentic (aggressive, strong, determined, competitive, intelligent etc.). On the other hand, females are perceived to be communal (caring, sensitive, honest, understanding, sympathetic etc.). When a man deviates from his gender stereotype, he faces backlash. This is one of the pivotal reasons why most men do not discuss their problems or sufferings with others to let go of the frustration or find a possible solution to the problem/suffering and ultimately end their lives leading to a higher number of suicide deaths.

National Crime Records Bureau also presents shocking suicide deaths figures pertaining to professional/career problems. Males happen to be more vulnerable than females in the workplace as per the suicide death figures. The total suicide deaths due to professional/career problems for the year 2020 were 1837 which implies 5 suicide deaths per day. Male suicide deaths consisted of 1602 (87.20%) while female suicide deaths consisted of 234 (12.74%) and the balance one suicidal death case pertains to transgender. Although, National Crime Records does not categorically mention the exact nature of professional/career problems; however, the professional/career problems may be attributed to Bullying and harassment at workplace irrespective of gender; Poor career growth; Sexual harassment particularly among women employees; non-performance etc.

While stringent laws are available to deal with sexual harassment against women in the workplace; sadly, there is hardly any law to deal with bullying and harassment at the workplace. There is no legal definition of bully and harassment in the workplace. However, researchers define workplace bullying as “Offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting behaviour, an abuse or misuse of power through means that undermine, humiliate, denigrate or injure the recipient”. Bullying and harassment may be done either by a senior member in an organization to its junior member or by colleagues.

Men are also victims of gender stereotypes - e.g. unemployment. In our society, it is expected that men should work and earn livelihoods to support their families and parents. Thus, when he is unable to find suitable employment, the ultimate path adopted is suicide. As per National Crime Records Bureau, the total unemployment suicide deaths were 3548, out of which 3237 (91.23%) were males; 309 (8.71%) were females and the balance 2 suicidal death cases pertain to transgender.

One may argue whether attempt to suicide is a criminal office in India since such attempts are done when an individual is severely stressed. Section 309 in the Indian Penal Code criminalizes attempt to suicide as crime which reads as “Whoever attempts to commit suicide and does any act towards the commission of such offence, shall he punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year 1[or with fine, or with both]”. However, section 115 of Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 gives relief to a stressed individual who attempts suicide. The section 115 reads “Notwithstanding anything contained in section 309 of the Indian Penal Code any person who attempts to commit suicide shall be presumed, unless proved otherwise, to have severe stress and shall not be tried and punished under the said Code”.

It raises a grave concern at the significantly higher number of suicide deaths in India for both men and women. It equally raises high concern over higher suicide deaths of men with 70.91%, making them more vulnerable in society. A mechanism needs to be put in place by the government for curbing suicide deaths by taking into consideration the various factors which forces an individual for suicide attempt.

Are men more vulnerable than women in India?

TikTok, a short-format video hosting service, was initially launched as a platform for sharing byte-sized content like makeup tutorials, cooking recipes, dances etc. However, after the rollback of Roe v. Wade, there are reports of potentially dangerous abortion-related information running on the platform. Following the Roe v. Wade ruling last Friday, that would make abortion illegal in America, prompting protests by women and reproductive rights advocates across the country, people seem to have taken the matter into their own hands.&nbsp;

A text that flashes on the social media platform reads: "If you’re a female in America worried about your future, just know there is an herb for every'situation'," followed by a list of herbs including pennyroyal, blue cohosh, and mugwort. A new wave of discussion is currently going on on TikTok that focuses on herbs that can cause abortions. After the ruling, people on TikTok are offering grassroots solutions to those who seek abortion facilities.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, medical professionals are concerned about this increasing trend of TikTok creators&nbsp;promoting these herbal abortifacients. These herbs can also have catastrophic effects on a woman’s health. Mary Jane Minkin, MD, a gynaecologist and clinical professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the Yale University School of Medicine, on knowing about the trends said, "I’m horrified. They’re going to kill people. She also stated that performing abortions at home can turn fatal and result in sepsis or death. "It’s terrifying because 49 years ago, that’s how women died," she said.&nbsp;

One of the most commonly mentioned abortifacients on TikTok is a minty, sweet-smelling plant called pennyroyal, which is also used in essential oils and insect repellents, reported the Rolling Stone. However, according to Josh Trebach, a medical toxicologist and emergency medicine physician in Lowa City, the herb contains pulegone, which gets metabolised in the body and produces toxins that might result in liver necrosis, causing indigestion-related side effects like nausea, vomiting, and pain in the abdomen as well as seizures, comas, liver failure, and even death.&nbsp;

Another herb cited on TikTok is called Blue Cohosh, which contains a compound called methylcytosine. If used in large doses, it can cause vomiting, abdominal pain, profuse drooling, heart rhythms, muscle weakness, seizures, coma, and even death.

Trebach said, "People may, at the end of the day, perceive these to be potential solutions because they have no other options. As a toxicologist that really scares me." He further added that due to a lack of research on these herbs, even medical experts don’t know whether these herbs work well to cause abortions. "But we do know it can get people really, really sick," he stated.&nbsp;

On TikTok, there is an abundance of misinformation about these dangerous herbal abortifacients. One of the hashtags, # pennyroyaltea, has received approximately 1.1 million views and advocates the use of an abortifacient. Another hashtag for mugwort has over 157 million views. With that hashtag, the most popular video has more than 350,000 views and says, "This is caution not to drink mugwort tea while pregnant because it may simulate your menstrual cycle resulting in losing [sic] the fetus. Once again, please don’t do this." Despite the fact that the video's caption reads, "Life hack # roevwade # womensrights."

Trabach noted that he came across posts relating to herbal abortifacients such as pennyroyal and mugwort last month, shortly after the news about the impending Roe v. Wade decision was leaked. Searches for "pennyroyal," "blue cohosh", and "mugwort" have shot up in the past month. As per recent Google Trends data, searches for "pennyroyal abortion" have increased by 40 per cent, and searches for "blue cohosh pregnancy" grew by 70 percent over the past week.&nbsp;

Though the rise in herbal abortifacients advocacy has emerged because of the rollback of the abortion rights law, they have remained available in the underground market, through herbalists and midwives, leading to those who seek such options for abortion.&nbsp;

There are several blogs and Reddit threads that include step-by-step information on how to self-perform an abortion, and with the speed with which the misinformation is spreading, it can become threatening to lives. "Fifty years ago we didn’t have TikTok. There was some filtration in information. But now anyone can publish anything anywhere and it gets out to billions of people. It just terrifies me," says a medical expert.&nbsp;

In the United States, the herbal supplement market is unregulated. Therefore, people can buy anything that is sold to them as herbal, and it may not be. A study by integrative medicine and women’s health specialist Fredi Kronenberg mentions that three out of 11 products that were marketed as black cohosh had no black cohosh in them. Black cohosh is used to provide relief from menopausal effects.&nbsp;

Due to the strict content guidelines of TikTok, several videos indirectly try to share messages about how these are effective and safe alternatives to causing abortion under the disguise of keywords. Experts believe that those who are trying to provide alternatives to people in need are helping them, but these home remedies cannot replace medical treatment.&nbsp;

TikTok has not yet responded to the spread of misinformation on its platform, and it is not the first time that the platform has received criticism for letting videos containing wrong and harmful information regarding health. Rolling Stone reported that last year, TikTok came under fire for pushing the use of ivermectin medicine as a cure for the COVID disease. Ivermectin is a horse deworming medication.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, experts said that TikTok should take control over the spread of such hazardous information on its platform.&nbsp;

Currently, in the US, websites such as Plan C and Safe2Choose are operational that can connect with people seeking abortions at home and provide solutions like abortion pills, a much safer and more reliable option. People without any age limit can order mifepristone and misoprostol from Aid Access, which ships drugs anywhere in the US and around the world.&nbsp;

Also Read: Roe v Wade overturned: Meta, Disney to pay for employees’ abortion-related travel costs after SCOTUS ruling Though the rise in herbal abortifacients advocacy has emerged because of the rollback of the abortion rights law, they have remained available in the underground market, through herbalists and midwives, leading to those who seek such options for abortion. There are several blogs and Reddit threads that include step-by-step information on how to self-perform an abortion, and with the speed with which the misinformation is spreading, it can become threatening to lives. "Fifty years ago we didn’t have TikTok. There was some filtration in information. But now anyone can publish anything anywhere and it gets out to billions of people. It just terrifies me," says a medical expert. In the United States, the herbal supplement market is unregulated. Therefore, people can buy anything that is sold to them as herbal, and it may not be. A study by integrative medicine and women’s health specialist Fredi Kronenberg mentions that three out of 11 products that were marketed as black cohosh had no black cohosh in them. Black cohosh is used to provide relief from menopausal effects. Due to the strict content guidelines of TikTok, several videos indirectly try to share messages about how these are effective and safe alternatives to causing abortion under the disguise of keywords. Experts believe that those who are trying to provide alternatives to people in need are helping them, but these home remedies cannot replace medical treatment. Rolling Stone reported that last year, TikTok came under fire for pushing the use of ivermectin medicine as a cure for the COVID disease. Ivermectin is a horse deworming medication. Meanwhile, experts said that TikTok should take control over the spread of such hazardous information on its platform. Currently, in the US, websites such as Plan C and Safe2Choose are operational that can connect with people seeking abortions at home and provide solutions like abortion pills, a much safer and more reliable option. People without any age limit can order mifepristone and misoprostol from Aid Access, which ships drugs anywhere in the US and around the world. While it's extremely important to look after your skin, be on the alert for these substances, as they can affect not only your skin but your entire body. Look for these specific materials withinside the commodities and keep away from them. These harmful substances include:

FRAGRANCE:

Both natural and synthetic perfumes have the potential to irritate your skin. Fragrances are one of the major causes of contact dermatitis, a skin condition in which your skin becomes red and inflamed after coming into contact with an irritant.

Artificial scents are made up of a combination of chemicals that can irritate your skin, such as solvents and preservatives. Because of the volatility of the chemicals used to produce them, they have even been known to induce skin disorders including eczema and psoriasis.

PARABENS:

Preservatives like parabens are used in skin care products to make them stay longer. The use of parabens in cosmetics is completely safe and poses no severe health risks. It can, however, easily pass through your skin and into your body. They can cause problems because they stay in your body's tissues and fluids. By functioning similarly to estrogen, a hormone that is vital for women's reproductive health, parabens may also disrupt hormone production.

&nbsp;

FORMALDEHYDE

In skincare, formaldehyde is frequently used as a preservative. It's a colourless gas that is used to keep bacteria from expanding and growing. Nail polishes, hair straightening treatments, hair gels, nail hardeners, shampoos, deodorants, lotions, and makeup all contain formaldehyde. It's linked to developmental toxins, hair loss, scalp burns, asthma, and neurotoxicity, among other things. Formaldehyde can cause dizziness and unconsciousness when inhaled.

PHTHALATES

Diethyl phthalate is the most frequent form of phthalate found in skincare products (DEP). DEP helps the penetration and absorption of skin-care products like our moisturizers and creams. DEP is used to help the scent linger for long hours in various products.&nbsp;According to the FDA, even at the highest levels, phthalates found in skincare products pose no substantial health hazards. Phthalates, on the other hand, are known endocrine disruptors. This means they may interfere with our hormones' regular functions in our bodies.

PETROLATUM

Petrolatum is a softening agent that is ideal for dry skin. Petrolatum is found in lip balms and moisturizers. It provides a barrier that keeps water from escaping while also preventing moisture from the air from being absorbed. Your skin will ultimately dry out, which is why you'll be inclined to reapply your lip balm.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Look out for these ingredients the next time you go out shopping. A habit of reading ingredients before buying any product is definitely going to save you a doctor’s visit!

Supporters of Meghan Markle have come out in support of The Duchess of Sussex after a report claiming that she was investigated by some members of the Buckingham Palace in lieu of her allegedly bullying a staff of the Palace was leaked.&nbsp;

According to the report, Markle was responsible for bullying two senior staff members of the Buckingham Palace when she was a member of the Royal Family, reported Deadline. Soon after the report got leaked, the 'policies and procedures' of the Palace were changed in regard to the treatment of the staff.&nbsp;

However, Markle supporters have claimed that the bullying report, funded and instituted by Queen Elizabeth was allegedly `buried` since it was not yet released. Soon after the leaked bullying report surfaced, Markle supporters took to Twitter to defend the Duchess.&nbsp;

"So Buckingham Palace leaked the existence of a bullying investigation (4 days before the Oprah interview) but not the results? Excuse me but this is BULLSHIT. Meghan has been bullied by the RF and didn`t say half what she went through on the interview," another user wrote.&nbsp;

"No one has a negative thing to say about Meghan from before she got married. She gets married into a family with a history of abuse, backstabbing, manipulation and jealousy and she`s all of a sudden an agent of chaos that managed to bully the entire monarchy?" wrote a third Twitterati.&nbsp;
