Now, it turns out that the two women were not the only ones who were sexually molested and raped on the same day in the state.</p>

<p>Recent media reports suggest that two more women from Manipur’s Kangpokpi district were sexually assaulted, and then murdered on May 4, at a site nearly 40 km away from where the other viral video incident took place. Both ladies, aged 21 and 24, were targeted by a mob of men and women.</p>

<p>Astonishingly, some women in the mob reportedly encouraged the men to sexually assault the girls, whom they had abducted from a nearby car wash centre.</p>

<h2><strong>FIR registered on May 16th</strong></h2>

<p>NDTV reported that the identities of the victims were initially kept hidden due to fear of stigma; however, a Zero FIR report was eventually registered with police on May 16.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Their dead bodies are not yet recovered, and their whereabouts are also not known till date," the FIR read. It also mentioned that the mob consisted of nearly 200 persons, including men and women.</p>

<p>However, police have so far failed to make any arrests in this&nbsp;case, which has also been brought to the notice of the National Commission for Women (NCW) by two women rights activists and the North American Manipur Tribal Association.</p>

<p>The Narendra Modi government has trashed Chinese automaker BYD’s proposal to set up a $1 billion manufacturing plant in India, reported Economic Times on Saturday.</p>

<p>The Chinese EV giant had earlier submitted a proposal to build EVs as well as electric batteries in India in partnership with an Indian EV company Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd.</p>

<h2><strong>Security reasons cited for rejection</strong></h2>

<p>The Chinese plan to manufacture EVs and batteries in India encountered “security concerns”, the report said. The company had initially planned to manufacture 15,000 electric cars in India annually.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Security concerns with respect to Chinese investments in India were flagged during the deliberations,” an Indian official was quoted as saying by Economic Times. Another official cited ‘existing guidelines’ to claim that such Chinese investments were not possible.</p>

<h2><strong>BYD’s presence in India</strong></h2>

<p>Times Now reports BYD already has a significant presence in the Indian automobile market. In 2023, it aims to sell at least 15,000 units of EVs. Furthermore, it also revealed its plans to expand its distribution network in India and upgrade manufacturing capacity.</p>

<p>However, those plans seemingly stand dashed now as New Delhi seems adamant about keeping Chinese players away from India’s major sectors, including telecom, automobile and cyberspace.</p>

<p>The formation and breakup of supercontinents are linked to the behaviour of the "solid but pliable" mantle. Mantle is the layer between the Earth's crust and core that stores ever-existing heat.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the book, the movement of&nbsp;continents occurs as heat rises in the mantle. The continents move towards that spot in the mantle which is comparatively cooler than other parts. That's how continents collide with each other, heralding the birth of a new supercontinent.</p>

<p>Drawing from this knowledge of the past and understanding mantle mechanics, Mitchell predicts "Amasia" as the next supercontinent.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Contrary to some theories suggesting it could form from the closing of the Pacific or Atlantic oceans, Mitchell argues that Amasia will emerge through the disappearance of the Arctic Ocean.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per his prediction, Amasia will form out of the merger of North America and Asia.</p>

<p>However, whether Mitchell's predictions about Amasia are accurate remains a question that none of us will live long enough to answer. It will be a matter for our coming generations to discover.</p>

<p>Pakistan’s Geo TV reported that authorities were seen struggling to rescue the monkey on Friday, who was “too small and, therefore, too fast to be easily grabbed.” Dawn reported the monkey was recaptured almost after 20 hours of intense rescue operation by the officials.</p>

<h2><strong>Smugglers fined $350 each</strong></h2>

<p>Both smugglers were later fined 100,000 Pakistani rupees (US$ 350) by the Karachi court. Also, the court directed the wildlife department to hand over the monkeys to Karachi Zoo.</p>

<p>However, the decision was immediately criticised by wildlife department officials because Pakistani zoos are generally notorious for their poor facilities and activists accuse the zoo officials of totally disregarding animal welfare.</p>
