Most asteroids found in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter can be observed with the help of advanced ground and space-based telescopes. A team used the Dark Energy Camera (DECam) mounted on Victor M. Blanco's 4-metre telescope in Chile to find and observe these asteroids. It is challenging to locate celestial objects in the region around the Sun, as astronomers have to deal with the Sun's glaze. Besides Asteroid 2023 RQ6, Asteroid 2023 SJ made its closest approach to Earth on September 21. It has a width between 52 feet and 118 feet. According to a recent report by the OSIRIS-REx science team, Bennu, a near-Earth asteroid, could drift into the planet's orbit and hit the planet by September 2182. NASA has been tracking Bennu, first discovered in 1999, for 25 years. Bennu passes near Earth every six years and has had three close encounters with Earth in 1999, 2005, and 2011. Here's everything you need to know about pseudo-dementia. What are the symptoms of pseudo-dementia? The symptoms of dementia and pseudo-dementia are almost similar. According to Healthline, people with pseudo-dementia have problems with memory, judgement, decision-making, and cognitive function. There are no laboratory tests to identify pseudo-dementia. Experts primarily diagnose it through observation of demeanour or memory changes and neurocognitive testing. Here's a list of people at a higher risk of pseudo-dementia: People with a history of depression or other psychiatric disorders People over the age of 65 People assigned female at birth People who have alcohol or substance use disorders What causes pseudo-dementia? Pseudo-dementia typically conceals a mental disorder that has not been identified or treated. The mental disorders most frequently linked to pseudodementia include depression and major depressive disorder. Other less common mental health disorders associated with pseudo-dementia include psychosis, mania and conversion disorder. How is pseudo-dementia different from dementia? Although dementia and pseudo-dementia look similar, they are different conditions. While changes in brain structure cause dementia, pseudo-dementia develops when an underlying mental health condition remains untreated. People with dementia (Alzheimer's disease) have a significant loss in brain volume, usually a 10 to 50 per cent loss in the hippocampus. Studies suggest that people with Alzheimer's have reductions in both the left and right hippocampus. Meanwhile, people diagnosed with pseudo-dementia only showed a slight decrease in the left hippocampus size. Moreover, dementia begins with short-term memory loss, while pseudo-dementia might impact short-term and long-term memory. Dementia and pseudo-dementia affect the behaviour of a person differently. While people with forms of dementia often try to suppress their setbacks in memory and cognitive function, people with pseudo-dementia highlight their symptoms. Furthermore, pseudo-dementia is a reversible psychiatric condition which can be treated effectively. However, dementia treatment primarily focuses on managing the symptoms. Who is General CQ Brown? According to General CQ Brown's official biography, his first commission came in 1984 from the ROTC Program at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He has commanded a fighter squadron, two fighter wings, US Air Forces Central Command and the US Air Force Weapons School. Moreover, he was an F-16 pilot and served as a wing commander at both Kunsan Air Base, South Korea, and Aviano Air Base, Italy. Brown has also served as the commander of Pacific Air Forces, the US Indo-Pacific Command's air component. He is a command pilot with more than 3,000 ﬂying hours, including 130 combat hours. Later, he became the Air Force Chief of Staff. The US government has honoured Brown with several medals for his service to the country.
