After her sleepover, she logged in alone and that's when she was matched with the Canadian paedophile Ryan Fordyce.&nbsp;

Struggling with early teenage anxieties, Alice began talking with Fordyce as he made her feel better. During their first video chat, he persuaded her to share her personal message details.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Alice said that she was only 11, but he wanted her to look as young as she could.

She said he was very particular about the way she looked in the video and forced her to send him images, and used to tell her to wear a ponytail to the left side of her head.&nbsp;

"He was able to manipulate me immediately. Very quickly, I was being forced to do things that a child should not have to do."

The man&nbsp;was able to coerce her to send intimate images and convinced&nbsp;Alice that she was complicit in making and sharing child abuse sexual material.

The fear of arrest kept Alice quiet.

"I spent a huge chunk of my childhood at his beck and call. Every day is at the will of someone else who had the worst of intentions for children."

This continued for three years until Fordyce lost&nbsp;his interest and the communication petered out.

Alice planned to carry this to her grave until one-day Canadian police noticed that someone is sharing child sexual abuse material online. They soon tracked the IP address to Fordyce with a search warrant.&nbsp;

When the police went, Ryan was out, but constable Pam Klassen logged in to his computer and found a horrific collection of child sexual abuse images and videos sent by several children under his orders.&nbsp;

His wife said that there must be a mistake. She was shocked.

The folders were categorised into seven different sections with names and age groups, among which there was Alice, 11-14.

Fordyce was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2021.

With Ryan behind the bars, Alice is going after Omegle to fight a case, and this would be the first tech case where a platform is put on trial for the way it is built.&nbsp;

The legal team for the platform argued in court that the website is not to be blamed for what happened to Alice and other girls, and denied that it is a haven for predators.&nbsp;

The case is still on, Alice's legal team said that she wants Omegle to close down.

India's Supreme Court has agreed to hear a petition from the opposition leader asking for an investigation into Hindenburg's allegations of financial fraud by the Adani group.

The petition is now listed for hearing on February 17 by the top court.

That comes on the heels of the Indian government and the market regulator, the SEBI, agreeing to the top court's suggestion for a committee led by a retired judge to look into the market rout in the Adani group and suggest improvements to the current regulations.

However, the SEBI has informed the supreme court that it is already investigating the Adani group over Hindenburg's allegations.

Can the Adani Group refinance without any trouble?

In a credit report aimed at countering Hindenburg's critical allegations and calming investors, the Adani group said it has enough cash reserves and is fine with refinancing its debt or raising new capital.

In the credit report, the group said the gross debt of Billionaire Gautam Adani-led firms stood at $27.3 billion at the end of September and expected it to remain around that amount by the end of March.

Since the US research firm's probe became public, Adani group stocks have lost more than $120 billion.

Given that the borrowing costs have risen for the Indian empire following that scathing Hindenburg report, scrutiny of the cash condition of group firms has increased.

Picture this, the cost of borrowing for one of the Gautam Adani-led firms jumped as high as 36 per cent&nbsp;and settled around 25 per cent.

That clearly shows how expensive it is for Adani group companies to finance their debt.

Before the Adani group's credit report on Tuesday aimed at reassuring investors, rating agency Moody's Investors Service had expressed doubts regarding Adani's capacity to raise money or refinance its outstanding debt coming due in the years to come.

The Adani group, for its part, has repaid some debt to boost investor confidence.

The founders of Adani and their companies have paid off debts totaling $1.11 billion to free pledged shares and committed to reducing leverage in the upcoming months.

The business empire also intends to prepay a $500 million bridge loan due next month, and the ports unit has revealed intentions to pay back some debt in April.

Indeed, a Reuters report showed India's troubled Adani Group is in talks with lenders to repay a $500 million bridge loan facility it had acquired to purchase a controlling stake from Holcim in cement businesses ACC Ltd and Ambuja Cements Ltd last year.

A mother and her newborn baby were rescued from the rubble of her quake-hit home twice a week. A paediatrician told BBC that Dima was treated for&nbsp;a lower limb injury, while her baby was in critical condition, suffering from severe dehydration and jaundice.

She was&nbsp;discharged from the hospital once again and is living in a tent along with her husband, Abdul Majid, and their nine nieces and nephews. She has been travelling to Afrin to visit her son Adnan&nbsp;in the hospital every day.&nbsp;

Dima was seven months pregnant last Monday when the earthquake hit her house in Jindayris to fall down.&nbsp;

She suffered minor injuries and later gave birth to a boy.&nbsp;

Similarly, a young girl named Miray in southern Turkey was saved from the rubble&nbsp;after 178 hours or seven and half days in Adiyaman.&nbsp;

Miray was attached to a stretcher and carried away by the rescue workers.&nbsp;

Local media is currently working to find her older sister.&nbsp;

A video was circulated which showed rescue workers cheering and chanting "God is great" as she was lifted out.

Several others were saved on Monday including a boy, named Aras, nine, who was trapped for 105 hours in quake rubble in Kahramanmaras. People call this rescue one of Turkey's miracles.&nbsp;

He was brought into the intensive care unit as his body temperature dropped to 28 degrees Celsius ( 82 Fahrenheit).

Health officials claimed that he had swollen feet and is making a good recovery.

As per reports, his mother has also survived but hasn't seen her since the quake hit their home. She is being treated at another hospital in the city.&nbsp;

The men's lawyer Samir Makeen said, "unfortunately, despite the political change in the country, nothing has changed in terms of the rights of the people, it was a change on the surface."

The study showed that the overall prevalence of depression is 16.3 per cent, compared to the global rate of 4.4 per cent.&nbsp;

Anxiety rates were also higher in the country compared to the rest of the world, 6 per cent to 3.6 per cent respectively.&nbsp;

Wahid added that previous global research has found a link between climate-related phenomena and adverse mental health outcomes in terms of depression or anxiety.&nbsp;

“As climate change worsens, temperatures and humidity will continue to increase, as will natural disasters, such as extreme flooding, which portends worsening impact on our collective mental health, globally.”

However, scientists claimed that this research is not long enough to see major climate change impacts, and such studies can take years to show events linked to climate change can impact mental health outcomes.&nbsp;

Going forward, researchers claimed that by 2050, the temperature in Bangladesh is expected to increase by 1.4 degrees Celsius.

Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Monday resumed their talks virtually, with Islamabad hoping that the discussion will help it ease pressure on the country's ailing economy. Islamabad's Finance Secretary Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh told Reuters that the duration of the talks cannot be confirmed but intend to finish the talks at the soonest.&nbsp;

Airbus kicks off 2023 on a poor note; deliveries drop 33% in January

The Income Tax Department conducted a survey at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) offices in Delhi and Mumbai as part of a tax evasion probe, officials said, PTI reported.&nbsp;

Around 11:20 am the department team reached the office in Delhi.&nbsp;A source told WION that the survey is being conducted at several locations. The offices are sealed for the duration of the survey.

The officials have claimed that the department is only looking at documents related to its business operations and those related to the Indian Amy, as it only covers the business premises of the company and will not raid the residences or any other locations of its directors or promoters.&nbsp;

The sources asserted, "we needed some clarifications and for that our team is visiting BBC office and we are carrying out a survey. Our officers have gone to check account books, these are not searches."

The search comes days after the media outlet aired a two-part documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots.

Soon after, the centre blocked multiple YouTube videos and Twitter posts that shared links to the controversial documentary, NDTV reported.

Opposition leaders and students have accused the ruling government of blatant censorship and organised public screenings of the documentary, even students clashed with college authorities over the screening.&nbsp;

The Income Tax Department conducted a survey at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) offices in Delhi and Mumbai as part of a tax evasion probe, officials said, PTI reported.

Around 11:20 am the department team reached the office in Delhi. A source told WION that the survey is being conducted at several locations. The offices are sealed for the duration of the survey. The officials have claimed that the department is only looking at documents related to its business operations and those related to the Indian Amy, as it only covers the business premises of the company and will not raid the residences or any other locations of its directors or promoters. The sources asserted, "we needed some clarifications and for that our team is visiting BBC office and we are carrying out a survey. Our officers have gone to check account books, these are not searches." The search comes days after the media outlet aired a two-part documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots. Soon after, the centre blocked multiple YouTube videos and Twitter posts that shared links to the controversial documentary, NDTV reported. Opposition leaders and students have accused the ruling government of blatant censorship and organised public screenings of the documentary, even students clashed with college authorities over the screening.
