"However, the Communications Security Establishment’s Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (Cyber Centre) guidance strongly recommends that Canadians understand the risks and make an informed choice on their own before deciding what tools to use."

The move comes days after the European Commission imposed a similar ban all across the continent. The commission in its statement said, "suspending the use of TikTok is a purely internal decision for cybersecurity reasons to protect the Council General Secretariat's (GSC) data and staff. As the GSC has no contractual relationship with TikTok, there is no obligation to consult or inform them."

The television broadcast what it said was the first footage showing the new Paveh cruise missile.

Hajizadeh said Iran did not intend to kill "poor soldiers" when it launched a ballistic missile attack on US-led forces in Iraq days after Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani was killed in a US&nbsp;drone strike in Baghdad in 2020.

"God willing, we are looking to kill Trump. (Former Secretary of State Mike) Pompeo...and military commanders who issued the order (to kill Soleimani) should be killed," Hajizadeh said in the television interview.

Iranian leaders have often vowed to avenge Soleimani in strong terms.

Iran has expanded its missile programme, particularly its ballistic missiles, in defiance of opposition from the United States and expressions of concern by European countries. Tehran says the programme is purely defensive and of a deterrent nature.

Iran had said that it had supplied Moscow with drones before the war in Ukraine. Russia has used the drones to target power stations and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

In November, the Pentagon said the United States was sceptical of reports quoting Hajizadeh as saying Iran had developed a hypersonic ballistic missile.

China's 12-point document with proposal to end the war does not specifically mention that Russia must withdraw its troops from Ukraine, and also condemns the "unilateral sanctions" on Moscow and its allies in what is seen as a veiled criticism of the West.

The Chinese authorities have so far not publicly responded to Zelensky's call for a meet with Xi.

Ukraine's military chief Kyrylo Budanov warned that Russia has been planning a missile attack on Friday ahead of its year anniversary.&nbsp;

However, in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised a victory as he laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.&nbsp;

He said, "Russia's unbreakable unity is the key to our victory."

The war in Ukraine has devastated swathes, and has turned Russia into a pariah in the West, as per Western sources, and caused over 150,000 deaths.&nbsp;

Back in January, European countries agreed to send battle tanks to Ukraine to help it fight Russian forces.&nbsp;
