Horowitz criticised the ruling and said that it “turned back the clock for women’s rights”.

The new rules will improve the access to abortion pills for women in Israel as they will be able to get them from local clinics. On the other hand, the removal of the compulsory attendance in front of the approval committee will also help in reducing the time needed to receive the necessary permissions.

The state television said in their report that evacuation planes were sent to Aqaba to help with the arrangements and the Civil Defence service has already deployed special teams in the area.

The dolls all sported numbers and information on their bodies which mimicked the tattoos on Jewish inmates at the Nazi concentration camps. According to the auction website, the dolls were made by Polish prisoners of war in the German camp who were rescued and treated by the Red Cross.

According to the auction house, the dolls were bought for a German toy museum who were interested in the style of the dolls and also the history attached to them.

The Birmingham collected inherited the dolls from her grandmother who received them in 1953 while running Birmingham's Dolls' Hospital. According to the auction house, the dolls were quite rare and there were two recorded instances in the past when they were displayed in public.

The first time was during the tour of England by the Women's Institute in the 1950 and later in the 1970s, they were taken out of the family’s estate in order to show them to Anne Frank's father.

There were two more items which were sold at the auction along with the dolls – a Victorian doll's house for around £15,000 and a teddy bear collection for £27,000, the BBC reported.

Sri Lanka runs out of fuel, to operate only essential services till July 10

Three people were killed and at least two injured as an Amtrak train collided with a vehicle at an unprotected crossing in the United States. The incident happened near Brentwood, California as the passenger train collided with a truck which was crossing the tracks, according to a report by East Bay Times. The Contra Costa county coroner’s office said that Mercedes Regaldo, 51, Maria Nieves, 72, and Julia Mondragon, 41, were pronounced dead at the scene while two people, were airlifted to the nearby hospital. However, none of the passengers on the train were injured in the accident.

“It’s in a rural area where there are no guards or signals,” Steve Aubert, a fire marshal with the East Contra Costa fire protection district, said according to a report by CNN.

Aubert also said that the crossing is considered to be “highly potentially dangerous” by the authorities and collisions are common near the crossing.

"It's in the rural part of our district, so it's a lot more farmland out there. There are no crossing arms, there are no signals at that crossover, and it's not the first accident that we've been to at that same spot. Trains are allowed to go up to 80 miles-per-hour along that stretch, so it doesn't take long for a train to catch up right at that crossing there," Aubert said in the report.

The railroad company BNSF is currently conducting an investigation into the incident, but they said that the line is open for traffic as train services resumed on the route.

The Taliban administration in Afghanistan said on Saturday that they will not be interfering with any international aid that will be directed towards the citizens suffering due to earthquakes. Afghanistan experienced a 5.9-magnitude earthquake on Wednesday and that resulted in the death of more than 1000 people. It also rendered many people homeless in the country and since then, the United Nations and some countries have sent humanitarian aid to the people. While there have been complaints that Taliban authorities are trying to get aid to places where they enjoy the most support, AFP reported that the Taliban has denied all rumours about any interference till now.

Pfizer and BioNTech tested the updated vaccines on a group of 1234 people who were aged 56 years or older. The 30-microgram doses showed a 13.5-fold increase when it comes to fighting the Omicron variant. On the other hand, the 60-microgram dose showed a 19.6-fold increase.

They also tried out a variation of the vaccine where it contained both the updated and the original doses which showed a 9.1 and 10.9-fold increase when it comes to the two different doses.
