According to Reuters, the robot was able to successfully complete the task after around 13 hours of training but the success rate of the dual-armed robot still remains at 57 per cent for the time being.<o:p></o:p>

The completion of such a task requires a thorough understanding of complicated commands on the part of the machine and the researchers believe that this technology can be explored to extend the application of robots in carrying out tasks like moving metal parts from one place to another.

According to Reuters, an unsealed redacted affidavit stated that the operation was a pre-emptive move on the part of the authorities to stop the hackers from using the devices into forming a ‘botnet’ which is described as a network of hacked systems that can attack other servers.<o:p></o:p>

"Fortunately, we were able to disrupt this botnet before it could be used,” US Attorney General Merrick Garland was quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency.

The affidavit further stated that the botnet was supposed to be controlled through a malware known as Cyclops Blink, which the US and UK agencies attribute to one of the Russian military service’s hacking teams called ‘Sandworm’ who are known for these kinds of attacks.<o:p></o:p>

Research conducted by private cybersecurity firms believe that Cyclops Blink was designed to hijack a number of devices manufactured by ASUSTek computers and Watchguard technologies.<o:p></o:p>

According to the Reuters report, Watchguard confirmed that they were working with the US Justice Department in the operation and in their statement, the company stated that the percentage of devices affected by the malware was just one percent.

The FBI took court’s approval before taking over thousands of routers and other appliances in order to delete the necessary malwares, according to organisation director Chris Wray.<o:p></o:p>

However, India turned the tables on them in the medal match. USA beat Spain, also via a shoot-off to clinch gold.

Veteran Shagun Chowdhary in the women's trap also had a good outing as she narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth.

Shagun shot 111 in the qualifiers to make it to the second semi-final in sixth place. She then made it to the gold medal match, topping the second semi-final with a stunning 24 hits out of 25.

In the medal match where the top two of the two semi-finals fought it out, Shagun hit only nine 'birds' out of the first 15 hits to be eliminated first in fourth place.

Italy won gold and bronze in the event while the USA won silver. In the trap mixed team event, Kynan Chenai and Rajeshwari Kumari also made it past the qualification stage of 10 teams, finishing fifth with a score of 132 out of 150.

They made it to the bronze medal match, eventually going down to Spain by a margin of 2-6, to miss out on a podium finish.

The tournament concludes on Wednesday, when the skeet mixed team medals are going to be decided.
