The citizens&nbsp;want France to intervene in Lebanon’s crisis. They want France to back a revolution that would lead to the downfall of Lebanon’s political elite. France once ruled Lebanon. French President Emmanuel Macron was mobbed by a crowd during his visit to Beirut. They called their own president a "terrorist" and demanded a fall of the regime.

Macron promised that he won’t let aid fall into the hands of the corrupt. Lebanon was under French rule a hundred years ago. After the end of the World War-I, Lebanon was occupied by the allied forces. It was placed under French military administration. In 1923, the League of Nations gave the mandate for Lebanon and Syria to France which was&nbsp;to be administered by France.

Lebanon became fully independent only in 1946 after World War-II ended. Now, there are thousands who want a return to the past. A petition has been floated to put Lebanon under a French mandate once again for 10 years. The petition got more than 50,000 signatures in 24 hours.

It couldn’t get worse for the Lebanon government. The French president did what no senior Lebanese politician has done so far, he visited the worst affected areas to see the suffering first hand and struck a chord. The anger swelled and the protests became violent. For Lebanon's elected leaders it's a major crisis of credibility and the days ahead don't look easy.

The big verdict is yet to come. The verdict in the Hariri trial. In 2005, a car bomb attack had killed former prime minister Rafik al Hariri. The killing had ruptured the country. "I think we’re going to have outbreaks after this outbreak," Fauci said.

Fauci had earlier claimed that there is likely to be "tens of millions of doses in the early part of next year" and "likely billion doses by the end of 2021."

While making the announcement, RBI governor Shaktikanta Das said that global financial markets remain buoyant, although he added that exports have contracted for the fourth straight month in June.

India's central bank said that the country's forex reserves are up by $56.8 billion, however it added that GDP growth will remain negative in the first half of the current year.

"For the year 2020-21 as a whole, real GDP growth is also estimated to be negative," it said.

The RBI governor added that although economic activity had picked up however due to fresh surge of coronavirus and lockdowns, several high-frequency indicators had levelled off.

"With coronavirus infections rising under fragile micro-economic and financial conditions, we propose to take regulatory and developmental measures including enhancing liquidity support for financial markets, ease financial stress caused by the virus while strengthening credit discipline," Shaktikanta Das stated.

Trump in a press briefing said Kardashian has a "good heart" as reports linked the Republican party of helping Kanye West's presidential bid in "swing states" in the US where Trump is locked in a battle with Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden.

On Kanye West, the US president said "I like him" while denying reports that he had anything to do with West getting on the ballot.

Trump was, however, all praise for Kardashian asserting that "I like his wife", adding that "his wife recommended certain people to get out of prison. They were in prison for a long time, a long, long time. It should have never happened."

"She’s got a good heart, very good heart. And I like Kanye very much," the US president said. "I don’t have anything to do with him getting on the ballot. We’ll have to see what happens. We’ll see if he gets on the ballot but I’m not involved."

"The situation in eastern Ladakh arising from unilateral aggression by China continues to be sensitive and requires close monitoring and prompt action based on evolving situation," the ministry asserted.

The ministry also informed that an order has been placed for 156 infantry combat vehicles(ICV) with upgraded features for the use of mechanised forces of the Indian Army as part of Make in India initiative.

Also 30 advanced torpedo decoy system(ATDS) Maareech was placed in June costing Rs 761 crores from Bharat Electronics Limited(BEL).&nbsp;

The report also noted the induction of ICGS Kanaklata Barua, a Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) for the Indian Coast Guard on June 15 based in Kakinada.
