<p>In an unfortunate turn of events, veteran actress Mary Mara, who has appeared in several TV shows such as 'NYPD Blue', 'Law &amp; Order', 'ER' and 'Lost', died after drowning in the St. Lawrence River during a swim, says New York State Police.</p>

<p>The actress' body was discovered on Sunday morning in the town of Cape Vincent. Troopers found her body in the river when they arrived at the scene. They had responded to a call for a possible drowning in the river at around 8 AM.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to officials, Mara had been visiting her sister and she jumped in the river for a swim. However, what happened next is still under investigation.</p>

<p>The preliminary investigation showed no signs of foul play. Her body has been taken to the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.</p>

<p>Reacting to the sad news, several fans of the actress took to social to pay their condolences and express grief.</p>

<p>One Twitter user wrote, "A SAD FAREWELL I didn't know Mary Mara for her more famous work on television, I knew her from the&nbsp;@BillyCrystal&nbsp;movie Mr. Saturday Night back in the 90s. Sad to read that she has drowned at the age of 61. RIP."</p>

'Gossip Girl' star Ed Westwick brings in 35th birthday with beau Amy Jackson

<p>Actor Jacqueline Fernandez on Monday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a fresh round of questioning and recording her statement in a money laundering case linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and others, officials said.</p>

<p>The agency had in April provisionally attached Rs 7.27 crore funds of the Bollywood actor under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).</p>

<p>The 36-year-old actor has been questioned two-three times by the agency in the said case earlier.<br />
The actor was issued fresh summons for recording of her statement on Monday as the agency is tracing the remaining proceeds of crime in this case, officials said.</p>

<p>A provisional order was issued against her for attaching fixed deposits worth Rs 7.12 crore apart from Rs 15 lakh cash as the agency called these funds as "proceeds of crime".</p>

<p>"Sukesh Chandrasekhar had given various gifts worth Rs 5.71 crore to Jacqueline Fernandez from the proceeds of crime generated by criminal activities including extortion."</p>

<p>"Chandrasekhar had put Pinky Irani, his long time associate and co-accused in this case to deliver the said gifts to her," the ED had then said in a statement.</p>

<p>In addition to these gifts, it said, Chandrasekhar also gave "funds to the tune of USD 1,72,913 (about Rs 1.3 crore as per current exchange rate) and AUD 26740 (approx. Rs 14 lakh) to the close family members of Fernandez out of the proceeds of crime through co-accused Avtar Singh Kochhar, an established and well known international hawala operator."</p>

<p>The agency said its probe found that Chandrasekhar had "delivered cash to the tune of Rs 15 lakh to a script writer on behalf of Fernandez as advance for writing a script of her webseries project."</p>

<p>Fernandez is a Sri Lankan national and she made her debut in the Hindi film industry in 2009.</p>

<p>The ED has alleged that Chandrashekhar used illegal money to purchase gifts for Fernandez which he had extorted by cheating high-profile people including former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh's wife Aditi Singh. He is alleged to have conned Aditi Singh and her sister by impersonating as the Union home secretary and also as the Law secretary over phone.</p>

The agency had in April provisionally attached Rs 7.27 crore funds of the Bollywood actor under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The 36-year-old actor has been questioned two-three times by the agency in the said case earlier. The actor was issued fresh summons for recording of her statement on Monday as the agency is tracing the remaining proceeds of crime in this case, officials said. A provisional order was issued against her for attaching fixed deposits worth Rs 7.12 crore apart from Rs 15 lakh cash as the agency called these funds as "proceeds of crime". "Sukesh Chandrasekhar had given various gifts worth Rs 5.71 crore to Jacqueline Fernandez from the proceeds of crime generated by criminal activities including extortion." "Chandrasekhar had put Pinky Irani, his long time associate and co-accused in this case to deliver the said gifts to her," the ED had then said in a statement. In addition to these gifts, it said, Chandrasekhar also gave "funds to the tune of USD 1,72,913 (about Rs 1.3 crore as per current exchange rate) and AUD 26740 (approx. Rs 14 lakh) to the close family members of Fernandez out of the proceeds of crime through co-accused Avtar Singh Kochhar, an established and well known international hawala operator." The agency said its probe found that Chandrasekhar had "delivered cash to the tune of Rs 15 lakh to a script writer on behalf of Fernandez as advance for writing a script of her webseries project." Fernandez is a Sri Lankan national and she made her debut in the Hindi film industry in 2009. <p>The Juno award nominee, comedian Nick Nemeroff, passed away on Monday at the age of 32. The Canadian-born stand-up comedian’s debut comedy album, ‘The Pursuit of Comedy Has Ruined My Life', was nominated for the Juno awards last year. As per an obituary posted on the website of a Montreal funeral home, Nemeroff died suddenly on Monday. The agency managing the comedian and his family announced late Monday that he had died. The cause of his death has not been given yet.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 2020, while promoting the release of his comedy album, Nemeroff said to CBC that: "I love stand up and jokes more than anything, unfortunately, and this album is the culmination of doing it every night for the past seven years."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nemeroff’s manager, Morgan Flood of Grand Wave Entertainment, informed media outlet CBC News that he doesn't know the cause of his death but that he "died in his sleep."&nbsp;</p>

<p>At the age of 28, Nick Nemeroff had performed on Conan O'Brien's late-night show.&nbsp;</p>

During his set, he raised his voice against the roll-back of abortion rights in his country and also compared women in his country to Jesus Christ.</p>

<p>At the end of the ‘Mr. Morale And The Big Steppers’&nbsp;track, he repeated a chant for women's rights. With fake blood pouring down his face from a thorn-filled crown, the star repeatedly said, "Godspeed for women's rights. They judge you, they judged Christ." And, also stated that&nbsp;we must&nbsp;"continue to walk in his image".</p>

<p>He repeated the phrase&nbsp;with increased&nbsp;intensity a few times before throwing the microphone to the ground and walking off the stage.</p>

<p>This&nbsp;chant is significant for women in the United States as it opposes Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.</p>

<p>“On behalf of me and my team, I want to thank every individual out here tonight. I consider y’all family, this shit is special, it means a lot to me,” Lamar said during his performance. “I look out into the crowd and I see different creeds, different colours," he added.</p>

<p>The theatrical performance that Lamar gave was unlike anything this music festival has ever witnessed before. And, since the Pulitzer Prize winner always addresses themes of mental illnesses, guilt, greed, loyalty, power, ambition and prejudice in his tracks, it also translated well as a stage performance.</p>
