James Cameron reveals 'game plan' for 'Avatar' sequels

<p>Along with 'Avengers' star Mark Ruffalo, over 600 artists from across the world have signed a petition urging the Islamic Republic of Iran to release prominent actress Taraneh Alidoosti. She was detained in Tehran on the 17th of December on charges of "spreading falsehoods" about the ongoing protests in her country, which were triggered by the tragic death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of so-called "morality police".</p>

<p>Asking for support from his fans and followers, Ruffalo took to his Instagram account&nbsp;and shared information about the petition. He wrote, "Over 600 artists worldwide have signed an open letter calling for the release of award-winning actor and writer Taraneh Alidoosti. We demand her freedom. Join us. Petition link below."</p>

<p>Some famous names who have come out to support the cause include&nbsp;Jason Momoa, Amma Thompson, Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet, John Oliver and Kristen Stewart among others.</p>

<p>In a reflective post for the year 2022, Canadian rapper Drake gave a glimpse of his summertime fiasco to his fans and confirmed that he landed in some hot water with Swedish authorities during the warmer months.</p>

<p>The rapper shared the first footage of his Swedish detainment from July on his official Instagram account along with other photos and captioned the post with cryptic lines.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The funds are useful/ The lyrics are truthful/ The suspects are usual/ The opps are delusional/ The finish line is beautiful /And the disrespect is mutual/ See you in 23," he wrote.</p>

<p>The Canadian superstar's post confirms his run-in with Swedish authorities last summer. The never-before-seen clip shows Drake being escorted by two officers to a police cruiser.</p>

<p>The 36-year-old's face wasn't visible in the footage as it captured him from behind, but his braided hair&nbsp;confirms that it's him.</p>

<p>Dressed in a red outfit and white sneakers, the rapper is seen walking beside his entourage in the now-viral clip.</p>

<p>Back in July, when Drizzy was detained by authorities regarding marijuana-related charges after partying in Stockholm, his team vehemently denied any claims of him being in police custody. For those unaware,&nbsp;Weed is still illegal in Sweden.</p>

<p>Anita was the second oldest of four sisters who started performing as the duo of June and Bonnie in 1969 and soon became a trio when Anita quit her job as a secretary to join the group, according to an official biography.</p>

<p>The Pointer Sisters later became a quartet for a while with Ruth, the only one of the original singing sisters still alive, though Bonnie left the group in the late 1970s and they became a trio once again. The Pointer sisters also have two surviving brothers, Fritz and Aaron.</p>

<p>Anita was preceded in death by her daughter Jada, who died in 2003, when Anita took over raising her granddaughter, Roxie McKain Pointer.</p>

<p>"While we are deeply saddened by the loss of Anita, we are comforted in knowing she is now with her daughter Jada and her sisters June &amp; Bonnie and at peace. She was the one that kept all of us close and together for so long. Her love of our family will live on in each of us," the family said in a statement.</p>

<p>The sisters grew up singing in the church of their father, a preacher in Oakland, California.</p>

<p>Their debut album in 1973 produced their first hit single 'Yes We Can Can'.</p>

On Sunday,&nbsp;the makers of the tentatively titled 'NTR30' announced that the Telugu film will see the actor reuniting&nbsp;with his 'Janatha Garage' director Koratala Siva. The project is expected to release worldwide on April 5, 2024.</p>

<p>NTR Arts, one of the banners behind the film, posted the announcement on its official Twitter page. "A man’s fury is the cure for a disease called courage. #NTR30 in cinemas on April 5th, 2024. Shoot begins next month. Happy New Year," the production house said in the tweet.</p>
