<p>American actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who made her acting debut in the 1977 comedy movie <em>A Piece of the Action</em>, recently alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a "famous TV judge" at a business event years ago. She made the shocking revelations on <em>The Way Up With Angela Lee</em>&nbsp;podcast.</p>

<p>The 66-year-old also claimed that the network executives witnessed the assault, but asked her to keep her mouth shut to avoid "bad press".</p>

<p>Recalling the incident, Ralph said, "I'm at a very public place. I was suited. I had my suit on. I was handling my business for the television show I was on at that time. He and I were on the same network."</p>

<p>She further added, "This man walked in, grabbed me by the back of my neck, turned me around and rammed his nasty ass tongue down my throat. And everybody at the network saw it."</p>

<p>Without revealing the name of the person who allegedly assaulted her and the network or show she was working with at the time, Ralph shared the harrowing incident in the podcast to encourage other women and actors to stand up for themselves.</p>

<p>Ralph also made sure to note it was not Judge Greg Mathis. "I love him. He's a great man," she said,&nbsp;before adding, "Not him at all. He's a great man. This was another one."</p>

<p>"Speak up, tell your truth, do not carry the burden of the pain… especially if you feel like it's something you can't work through," Ralph said.</p>

Ralph said that the mayor immediately came to her defence, asking, "You want me to send the police there right now? Cause we will fix this, you know what!"</p>

<p>However, she remained silent because of the network. Ralph starred on the UPN sitcom&nbsp;<em>Moesha&nbsp;</em>when Marc Morial was in office.</p>

<p>"Somebody on the network tapped me on the shoulder saying, 'Please don't,'"&nbsp;Ralph shared, adding, "They did not want any bad press around their show, and did not care what had just happened to me."</p>

<p>While concluding she added that women refrain from speaking about such assaults in fear of being judged or silenced.</p>

<p>The fantasy world of <em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons</em>&nbsp;came to a rainy London’s Leicester Square on Thursday as actors Chris Pine, Rege-Jean Page and Michelle Rodriguez premiered their new film imagining of the popular role-playing game.</p>

<p><em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons: Honor Among Thieves</em>&nbsp;hits cinemas next week hoping to entice a new generation of fans with the game which first came out in 1974.</p>

<p>In the film, Pine’s character Edgin brings together a band of adventurers for a mission to retrieve a powerful relic.</p>

<p>“I didn’t really know anything about it but my nephew is… a D&amp;D player…I watched him and his pals play and was really blown over by how much joy there was in it and how much improvisation, it was just like an imagination gym basically,” Pine told Reuters on the red carpet.</p>

<p>“Hopefully what people get out of our film is that it’s a fun world with interesting characters that requires creativity and imagination and it’s just a wonderful way to spend time.”</p>

<p>Packed with striking visual effects and stunning backdrops, the film is not just for fans of the game, its directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley said.</p>

<p>“There’s so much in this game, there’s so much potential that the movie just really skims the surface of all the potential,” Goldstein said.</p>

<p>“You don’t have to be a fan of the game to enjoy this movie. It really just taps into that spirit (of creativity and imagination) that’s so great about it,” Daley added.</p>

<p>Rodriguez, who plays Holga, used to play the game herself.</p>

<p>“When (directors) John and Jonathan introduced me to the script, it all came back to me,” she said.</p>

<p>“It made me understand why (<em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons</em>) has been around for 50 years.”</p>

<p>Page, who plays Xenk, said he played his first <em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons</em> game just before starting filming.</p>

<p>“I wasn’t a player but I had actually watched people play <em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons</em>, which is quite possibly even more involved,” he said.</p>

<p>“And so I had a little bit of familiarity with the world but my first game was with this cast.”</p>

<p>The Paramount Pictures film also stars Hugh Grant, Justice Smith, Daisy Head and Sophia Lillis.</p>

<p>Reyhaneh Jabbari was 26 when she was hanged for murder in 2014, having become an international symbol of injustice in Iran.</p>

<p>She had spent seven years in prison for stabbing to death an ex-intelligence ministry official, Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Despite being offered a reprieve if she retracted her rape allegation, she refused to lie -- even at the cost of her life.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Her courageous story and poetic diaries from prison are the subjects of a new documentary, <em>Seven Winters in Tehran</em>, which played at the Berlin Film Festival last month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Somehow, Jabbari found the strength to forgive those who destroyed and ultimately took her life -- something her mother has never been able to do.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Reyhaneh asked me to forgive the people who tortured her, and I tried for many years, but to this day, I cannot," her mother, Shole Pakravan, told AFP ahead of the film's release in France.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>- 'Piece of hope'-</strong></p>

<p>But unlike previous generations in Iran, too fearful to speak out, she has managed to use the tragedy to raise awareness.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"When I was young, I didn't know about the violence and executions in my country. It was hidden," said Pakravan, who now lives in exile in Germany.&nbsp;"Now with this movie, we are able to speak about these things and show it to the world."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film's director, Steffi Niederzoll, said she was deeply inspired by the family's strength.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"They have fought to break the circle of violence in Iran," she said.&nbsp;"Reyhaneh forgave even the people who did this to her. She stayed with her truth, her dignity and asked her family to do the same. This creates a piece of hope in this very sad story."</p>

<p>The film was almost finished when protests broke out around the country in September over the death in custody of a young woman, Mahsa Amini, who had been arrested for allegedly breaching its strict dress code.</p>

<p><strong>- 'Won't be silent' -</strong></p>

<p>"I have hope in the people in these demos because the new generation are really fighting -- not like my generation," said Pakravan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Before people went to jail and came out and stayed silent. Now young girls are going to jail and being raped, and they still won't be silent." But she also fears for what comes next.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I fight against execution and torture so when I see protesters calling for mullahs (religious leaders) to be hanged, it makes me worry," she said.&nbsp;"I don't know what system will come after this one, but I don't want it to use execution or torture."</p>

<p>Completing the film, and an accompanying book, has given her some relief after so many years of pain.&nbsp;"I did my responsibility to Reyhaneh, and it has made me free. I can see the world around me again."</p>

<p>Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow is headed for a court showdown over her 2016 Utah ski crash!&nbsp;She is scheduled to stand trial on Tuesday in a 2016 lawsuit filed by a retired optometrist, who claims that Paltrow&nbsp;violently crashed into him while skiing in Utah.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The retired optometrist, identified as Terry Sanderson, alleged that Paltrow was cruising down the slopes so recklessly that they collided, leaving him on the ground as she and her entourage continued their descent down Deer Valley Resort, a skiers-only mountain known for its groomed runs, après-ski champagne yurts and posh clientele.</p>

<p>In the lawsuit, he also claimed that the Goop owner struck him with such force that he had "permanent traumatic brain damage" along with four broken ribs, agony, suffering, diminished quality of life, mental anguish, and deformity.&nbsp;The trial is set to begin on March 21.</p>

<p>"Gwyneth Paltrow skied out of control," Sanderson’s attorneys claim in the lawsuit, "knocking him down hard, knocking him out, and causing a brain injury, four broken ribs and other serious injuries. Paltrow got up, turned and skied away, leaving Sanderson stunned, lying in the snow, seriously injured."</p>

<p>Sanderson has sued&nbsp;Paltrow for $300,000 and according to him, the accident in Park City was a result of negligence which caused him physical injuries and emotional distress.</p>

<p>Sanderson has also accused Deer Valley and its employees of engaging in a "cover up" by not providing complete information on incident reports and not following resort safety policies.</p>

<p>The two parties are currently proceeding to trial and the court will soon determine who is accountable for covering damages.</p>

<p>In the counterclaim, Paltrow stated&nbsp;that Sanderson was the real culprit in the collision. She also stated that he is overstating his injuries&nbsp;and trying to exploit her celebrity status and wealth.</p>

<p>In many parts of Iraq, scarred by decades of conflict, peaceful rhythms are gradually returning to daily life and second-hand clothing offers aspiring fashionistas an affordable chance to express themselves.</p>

<p>As Baghdad's streets see more "fast-fashion" and imported brands, the outfits at the Al-Hussainiya event predominantly feature green elements, a nod to the show's environmental message.</p>

<p>"The goal is not to focus only on clothes, but also abandoned orchards, palm trees that disappear every day," Qassem said.</p>

<p>The United Nations says oil-rich Iraq is one of the five countries most exposed to the impacts of climate change, already witnessing extreme summer heat, frequent droughts, desertification and regular dust storms, which will exacerbate as the planet heats.</p>

<p>The designs at the fashion show will not be put on sale. Organisers mainly hope the symbolic parade will raise awareness.</p>

<p>Ahmed Taher, a 22-year-old stylist who put together the sets for the show, said "second-hand pieces are clothes of excellent quality".</p>

<p>"When you wear them, you have the impression of wearing luxury clothes. It's different from what you find in stores."</p>

<p>A business student, Taher offers Baghdad's hipsters vintage clothes on Instagram -- where he has around 47,000 followers -- selling pieces for around $20.</p>

<p>"We want to wear unique clothes and not all look like each other," he said.</p>

<p>A student-turned-model for the day, Safaa Haidar, said she was attracted to vintage clothes as she could shop "according to my personality".</p>

<p>Mohamed Ali, a 20-year-old engineering student, came to buy shoes.</p>

<p>"It's not that we can't afford to buy new, but here we find better quality and unique pieces," he said.</p>

<p>Ali recounted his parents' stories from life in the 1990s, when Western sanctions against Iraq meant they would wear clothes, even "inside out, until they were worn out because they could not afford" new ones.</p>

<p>Now, Ali and most of his friends shop for vintage clothes for their durability and style, he said.</p>
