<p>MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locked horns with the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2021 edition on Sunday (October 11), at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Before this, CSK had met the Pant-led franchise twice in the season; losing the clash on both occasions.</p>

<p>Thus, CSK had their back against the wall heading into the Qualifier 1. In addition, they had lost three back-to-back games ahead of the playoffs. Nonetheless, the Yellow Army rose to the occasion and displayed their experience to beat DC by 4 wickets in the final over and progress to their ninth IPL final.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Opting to bowl first, Dhoni &amp; Co. restricted Delhi for 172-5, riding on Prithvi Shaw's 60, Rishabh Pant's 51 not out and Shimron Hetmyer's 37. In reply, Ruturaj Gaikwad's 70 and Robin Uthappa's 42-ball 63 kept them in the hunt, being well-placed at 113-1. While they did struggle from thereon, being reduced to 119-4, and needed 19 off 9 balls, Dhoni's cameo (18* off 6 balls) propelled CSK to a memorable four-wicket win, with two balls to spare.</p>

It means that Hasaranga and Chameera will not be available for selection in Mond`y`s Eliminator match against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah. "Wanindu Hasaranga &amp; Dushmantha Chameera have been released from the RCB bio bubble as they join up with the SL team for their #WT20 qualifiers. <p>Hasaranga and Chameera were roped in as replacement players ahead of the second half of IPL 2021 in place of Australian duo Adam Zampa and Daniel Sams. Hasaranga ended up with no wickets against his name in two matches in the UAE and made only one run with the bat. Chameera, on the other hand, didn`t feature in any of Bangalore`s matches in the league stage.<br />

On Sunday, Hasaranga had thanked the franchise for the experience of the IPL. "Here`s saying a heartfelt thank you and wishing my family/team mates at @royalchallengersbangalore all the best for the playoffs. This is probably the year we win it all.
