<p>Kohli had taken over as RCB's full-time captain ahead of IPL 2013, after leading the franchise on an ad hoc basis especially in 2012. Under him, the Bengaluru franchise reached the playoffs on four occasions -- in 2015, 2016, 2020 and 2021 -- and ended as the runners-up in 2016. In addition, they finished at the bottom in 2017 and 2019.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After RCB's exit from IPL 2021, the 32-year-old Kohli reflected back on his journey as RCB captain over the years, in a video shared by the franchise's official Instagram handle. "It's a bit of an emotional moment for me because I have led this franchise for so long. And I have tried my absolute best to make the team win and get us a title. Unfortunately, it could not happen and such is life. I don't have any complaints. I only have gratitude for the opportunity that RCB has given me. I am happy that I could give everything I had," Kohli said in a video shared by RCB on social media.</p>

<p>The T20 World Cup will commence from October 17, two days after the conclusion of IPL 2021 in the UAE. <p>Many believe Rahul Dravid, India's former captain, is the ideal candidate to replace Ravi Shastri as Team India's head coach, as the latter's tenure is coming to an end post the T20 World Cup 2021. For the unversed, Shastri has already hinted at not being willing to extend&nbsp;his contract despite having a very successful tenure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per reports, in CricTracker, Dravid has now politely turned down BCCI's offer to succeed Shastri as India's head coach. Dravid was India's stand-in coach during their limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka early this year, when Shastri-Virat Kohli &amp; Co. were in England and Wales for the five Tests versus Joe Root &amp; Co. Under Dravid, Shikhar Dhawan-led second-stringed Indian team won the three ODIs (2-1) versus Sri Lanka before losing the three T20Is, by the same margin, after missing plenty of players due to the Covid-crisis in the Indian camp.</p>

<p>For the unversed, Kohli had already announced his decision to step aside as RCB captain when the second and final leg of IPL 14 commenced, on September 19, in the UAE. Following RCB's exit, the 32-year-old told the broadcasters at the post-match presentation, "I have tried my best to create a culture here where youngsters could come in and play with freedom and belief. It is something I have done with India as well. I have given my best. For the unversed, Kohli had already announced his decision to step aside as RCB captain when the second and final leg of IPL 14 commenced, on September 19, in the UAE. Following RCB's exit, the 32-year-old told the broadcasters at the post-match presentation, "I have tried my best to create a culture here where youngsters could come in and play with freedom and belief. It is something I have done with India as well. I have given my best. I don't know how the response has been, but I have given 120% to this franchise every time, which is something I will now do as a player. It is a great time to regroup and restructure for the next three years with people who will take this ahead. [On him staying with RCB] Yes definitely, I don't see myself playing anywhere else. Loyalty matters more to me than worldly pleasures. I would be in the RCB till the last day I play in the IPL."
