<p>According to figures for 2015 from the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food, there used to be 123 fur farms in Greece which rose to 131 in 2018. However, since then, there has been a dramatic drop and only 92 mink farms operated in 2020. The numbers are expected to have dwindled rapidly in the last five months after the war broke out in February.</p>

<p>According to data received, fur garments are among Greece's top 10 exports to the world market. To Russia alone, the export figure amounted to 14 million euros last year. A year before that, it was around the 55 mn euros mark.&nbsp;</p>

<p>To protect the family-run businesses from going bankrupt, the government has allowed them to suspend over 80 per cent of their staff, who will receive state benefits till September. <p>Former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan has opened up regarding the criticism from reviewers who targeted his Hindu identity shown in the movie ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect', based on his life. A video has gone viral on the realms of social media where Nambi Narayanan can be seen explaining his point and asking if it was a sin to be a Hindu.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“It is funny sometimes. You know somebody wrote a review saying that Nambi Narayanan is shown as Hindu. Nambi Narayanan is doing some Utsavam, reciting Suprabhatam, this, that, and all kinds of things. He is a 'Brahmin'. He is a Hindu. Hindutva is being shown. I just wanted to ask you, I am a Hindu. I mean I have no shame in saying that. Is it a sin to be a Hindu?” said Nambi in the video.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nambi further argued that he is a Hindu and thus, the movie showed him as a Hindu only as it could not have shown him as a Muslim or Christian. He further asserted that he was not a Brahmin, and even if he was, why would people want to cut them(Brahmin) off.</p>

<p>"Is it a sin to be a Brahmin? I am not a Brahmin, that is a different question. Is it a sin? If there is a Brahmin fellow, you will just cut him short. There are so many Brahmins, who have given their lives for this country. Not just one. I can give you a list. So the point I am making is we are unnecessarily coloring the issue.”</p>

<p>The ISRO scientist, who was wrongfully terminated from his service reiterated that he had no political inclinations toward any party. Thus, anyone drumming his name for the sake of politics should not try to go that avenue. Nambi also noted that he received praises from both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who are at the opposite ends of the political spectrum.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I will tell you. Forget about Narendra Modi. Do you know that the present chief minister of Kerala has given me excellent support? In what way his support is less? He has cut down on the fighting of my case. So you will call me a communist fellow?”</p>

These foreigners came to American soil, made it their own and contributed to the growth story, which allowed America's GDP to dwarf that of nearly every nation on the planet, for close to a century.</p>

<p>However, the recent trend of not being welcome enough towards immigrants had had a negative effect. Not only the economy is shrinking in real time with high inflation, but the lack of labour strength also means that there will be no future scientists, doctors or engineers coming to the fore.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Cohen is worried that the pipeline is not being created. The fabled 'American Dream' is fading as successive generations are finding it extremely hard to do better than their predecessors. The wages have not risen, and the median income has not kept up with inflation.</p>

<p>Ultimately, the middle class is finding it difficult to maintain stability. And if the health of the middle class deteriorates, a country can fall apart on seams, says Cohen.</p>

<p>"What has happened is that this rise in inflation has pulled apart the curtains. Now we see much more clearly where these problems are and where the issues are."</p>

<p><strong>Deglobalisation of the world order</strong></p>

<p>Lastly, Ken Moelis, Founder and CEO, Moelis &amp; Co. is of the view that deglobalisation of the planet, which has already started, may affect the countries that do not have ample resources to sustain on their own.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier, a country like Germany had outsourced everything, right from its military to the USA to&nbsp;financial management to the EU and energy supply as well as end market to Russia and China respectively. However, in the immediate aftermath of the Russia-Ukraine crisis and a sluggish Chinese economy, Berlin has been seen huffing and puffing.</p>

<p>While Germany still may have the resources to get back on its feet, owing to its developed nation status, other small nations, particularly the African nations, may not have the same luxury. <p>Fiji President Frank Bainimarama, in an interaction with reporters put forth the demand for financing to vulnerable societies for the 'loss and damage' caused due to the changing landscape.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“What matters most to us is we secure bold commitments from all countries at COP27 to phase out coal and other fossil fuels and step up finance to the most vulnerable nations and advance causes like ‘loss and damage’ that matter dearly to the most at-risk island communities,” said Frank.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 30 million square kilometres of exclusive economic zones of the Pacific have seen the most severe effects of global warming with low-lying areas getting inundated routinely. If the trend continues, the world may have to do without Tuna, the world's most eaten fish, whose more than half of the production comes from this region.&nbsp;</p>

As many as three aircraft of International carriers made emergency landings on the tarmac at different airports across the country in the last 48 hours. Meanwhile, another Indian aircraft was forced to land in Karachi, for the second time this month. Technical snags were cited as the reason for all emergency landings.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier on Sunday, IndiGo's Sharjah-Hyderbad flight 6E-1406 developed a technical defect and was diverted to Karachi as a precautionary move. It is being reported that another flight will be dispatched to Karachi to fly the passengers back safely.&nbsp;</p>

<p>These incidents come in the backdrop of a Dubai-bound Delhi Spicejet flight landing in Karachi, Pakistan, earlier this month after developing a fuel issue. After the emergency landing, it was revealed that the issue was caused due to a malfunctioning fuel indicator light in the cockpit.&nbsp;All the 150 passengers were said to be safe.</p>

<p>However, the scariest incident of the lot was when Spicejet's Kandla-Mumbai flight made an emergency landing in Mumbai after the outer pane of the windshield cracked at the height of 23,000 feet. The DGCA has ordered investigations into the cases but the string of accidents has left the air-travellers apprehensive.&nbsp;</p>

<p>South African pacer Lungi Ngidi has shared his family's struggle with racism. The speedster, who has already won South Africa's cricketer of the year award and earned two IPL champions medals in his relatively short career, stated that it was his parents' experience with racism that opened his eye.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Talking about how his father, a petrol attendant, was treated differently for the colour of his skin, Ngidi said, “My dad was a petrol attendant and a white customer wouldn’t even put the money in his hand. He just threw it on the floor,"</p>

<p>“I don’t think I’ll ever lose that story. It was just so degrading. For my dad to go on in life as if everything’s fine took a lot of courage but this is how they raised me. The stories they shared were eye-opening and painful to hear, because those scars never really close up.” he further added in the interview with The Guardian.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Despite his parents facing acute racism, Ngidi believes that he still does not assume anything about a person, unless they show their racist side to him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“My parents grew up in an era where racism was rife but apartheid was over when I was born. They wanted me to make the most of that new start and they raised me never to judge a book by its cover, and I live by that today. Until someone shows me that side of themselves, I will never assume that is who they are.”</p>

<p>Ngidi was one of the first voices to speak amongst the South African camp in the aftermath of the George Floyd murder in Minneapolis, USA, two years ago. At the time, several former South African cricketers had called out Ngidi and tried to silence his voice.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The CJI also egged the state assemblies to meet more often and utilise their potential to full. “Yes, the Constitution does not specify the minimum number of days for which the state Assembly must meet every year. However, there is no doubt that the citizens will definitely get benefited by longer engagements,”</p>

<p>Lastly, the CJI talked about the overburdened justice system of the country where process has become the punishment. He remarked that nearly 80 per cent of the prisoners in the country are undertrial prisoners.<br />

"The challenges are huge. In our criminal justice system, the process is the punishment. From hasty, indiscriminate arrests, to difficulty in obtaining bail, the process leading to the prolonged incarceration of under trials needs urgent attention," added the CJI.&nbsp;</p>

Initially, only Oxford-AstraZeneca developed Covishield was used for the immunisation process before the government and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) approved indigenously developed Bharat Biotech's Covaxin vaccine.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It was in mid-September last year that the centre reached the milestone of 100 crore doses; 277 days after the immunisation drive began. Up until now, 87 per cent of the country's population has been completely inoculated.</p>

<p>To encourage the public to take the third shot, referred to as the Booster shot, the centre on Friday announced that all adults in the age group 18-75 will be able to receive free precaution dose at government Covid centres.&nbsp;The aforementioned campaign is being run as part of ‘COVID Vaccination Amrit Mahotsava’ as India gears to celebrate its 75th Independence Day.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Such has been the effect of India's vaccination program that medical journal The Lancet released a report last month which revealed that 'Covid-19 vaccines prevented over 42 lakh potential deaths in India in 2021'.</p>

<p>"For India, we estimate that 42,10,000 deaths were prevented by vaccination in this period. This is our central estimate, with the uncertainty in this estimate ranging between 36,65,000-43,70,000," Oliver Watson, the lead author of the report was quoted as saying by news wire agency PTI.&nbsp;</p>
