<p>Pelosi asserted that it was President Biden that formally acknowledged the Armenian genocide and that she, alongside her congressional delegation, was proud to travel to Yerevan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Adding that we shouldn't forget the Armenian genocide, Pelosi said, “It is the moral duty of all to never forget: an obligation that has taken on heightened urgency as atrocities are perpetrated around the globe, including by Russia against Ukraine.”</p>

<p>Reportedly, Pelosi was received by the head of the Armenian National Assembly Alen Simonyan at the International Airport outside of Yerevan.</p>

<p>Simonyan remained optimistic that Pelosi's visit will play a big role in ensuring Yerevan's security.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the last few days, the White House has also taken a rather aggressive stance in calling out Putin on the public platform. After Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised Putin that&nbsp;'today's era is not of war', Washington&nbsp;quickly&nbsp;jumped in on the conversation and gave its version to Moscow.</p>

<p>"He (Putin) is only further isolating himself from the international community. We don't believe that now's the time to be doing any business as usual with Russia with respect to what they're doing in Ukraine." said&nbsp;John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council in the White House.</p>

<p>Additionally, US secretary of state Antony Blinken stated that what India and China communicated to Russia reflected the concerns of the world.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“What you're hearing from China, from India, is reflective of concerns around the world about the effects of Russia's aggression on Ukraine.” said Blinken.</p>

<p>Furthermore, the sources included 44 reports containing figures of the number of DNA samples police had collected in particular areas of Tibet.</p>

<p>Noting that the study targeted men, women, children and Buddhist monks for the DNA collection, the study stated, “Our research suggests that mass DNA collection is a form of social control directed against the Tibetan people. In some cases, police have targeted Buddhist monks.”</p>

<p>Despite China's malfeasance being out in the public, the Xi Jinping government doubles down on its rhetoric by remarking that it is collecting DNA samples and other biometric identification data as a crime prevention measure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The study by the Canadian researchers comes roughly a week after Human Rights Watch published a similar report and shed light on the arbitrary personal data collection authorised by Politburo.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The Chinese government is already subjecting Tibetans to pervasive repression. Now the authorities are literally taking blood without consent to strengthen their surveillance capabilities.” said Sophie Richardson, China director at Human Rights Watch.&nbsp;</p>

Over one million Tibetans subjected to DNA tests in last five years: Research

<p>Students at Chandigarh University in the Punjab state of India are lodging a protest on the campus since Saturday night&nbsp;after objectionable videos of several girl students allegedly went viral on social media platforms.</p>

<p>According to sources, a girl student allegedly leaked private videos of her hostel mates to a friend who leaked them online.&nbsp;After the news of the incident spread across the campus, the students came out in protest and demanded a probe into the incident.</p>

<p>According to the police, the accused is a first-year MBA student at the university who has been arrested after being booked under Sections 354C of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the IT Act.</p>

<p>After the controversy snowballed, several rumours started doing the rounds with a few media channels reporting that victims had attempted suicide en masse on the campus. The police, however, cleared that no one had committed suicide.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the viral video of a student being carried towards an ambulance, police said one student suffered from an anxiety attack.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the college authorities refuted all the allegations and stated that no objectionable video has been released online.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The rumor which is circulating through media that 60 objectionable MMS have been found of students...is totally false and baseless. During the preliminary investigation conducted by the university, there have been no videos found of any student which are objectionable except a personal video shot by a girl which was shared by herself to her boyfriend." said RS Bawa, pro-chancellor, Chandigarh University in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

The police, however, cleared that no one had committed suicide. On the viral video of a student being carried towards an ambulance, police said one student suffered from an anxiety attack. Meanwhile, the college authorities refuted all the allegations and stated that no objectionable video has been released online. "The rumor which is circulating through media that 60 objectionable MMS have been found of students...is totally false and baseless. During the preliminary investigation conducted by the university, there have been no videos found of any student which are objectionable except a personal video shot by a girl which was shared by herself to her boyfriend." said RS Bawa, pro-chancellor, Chandigarh University in a statement. <p>Tropical storm Fiona gained strength on Saturday as it headed toward Puerto Rico, prompting the National Hurricane Center (NHC) to issue a hurricane warning and alerts for "life threatening floods and mudslides" for the US territory and watches for the US Virgin Islands.</p>

<p>One man was found dead in the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, after heavy rains from the massive storm swept away his house in the Basse-Terre district, according to local authorities.</p>

<p>The storm was about 120 kilometres southeast of St Croix and about 240 kilometres southeast of Puerto Rico with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph as of Saturday night, according to NHC.</p>

<p>It was expected to become a hurricane on Sunday and into Sunday night, as it moves near Puerto Rico. A storm is considered a Category 1 hurricane when sustained windspeeds reach 119 kph or greater.</p>

<p>The island was braced for up to 20 inches (50 cm) of rain and high winds that could bring flooding, mudslides and power outages.<br />
"Hurricane conditions are expected across portions of Puerto Rico Sunday and Sunday night, and are possible across the U.S. Virgin Islands (Saturday night) and Sunday," NHC said.</p>

<p>Heavy rains from Fiona were also due to spread to the Dominican Republican on Sunday and to the Turks and Caicos Islands on Monday night.</p>

<p>The government of the Dominican Republic issued a hurricane warning for the east of the country, from Cabo Caucedo to Cabo Frances Viejo, NHC said.</p>

<p>On Saturday, residents in Puerto Rico were bracing for severe power outages as the island's grid remained fragile after Hurricane Maria in September 2017 caused the largest blackout in US history. In that category 5 storm, 1.5 million customers lost electricity with 80 per cent of power lines knocked out.</p>

<p>Authorities have opened about 80 shelters and closed beaches and casinos, and residents were urged to seek shelter.<br />
Governor Pedro Pierluisi signed a state of emergency on Saturday warning residents, "We should not underestimate this storm in the least. The government is active and prepared to respond to the emergency."</p>

<p>He added, "We expect that during the night, the winds and rain will intensify," and "we all want the (electric) service to improve, but now what is important is the response, that we are prepared."</p>

<p>Abner Gomez, a spokesman for LUMA Energy, operator of the island's power grid, said the storm will cause outages, "But we will be ready to respond."</p>

"We are living here in constant fear. Anytime any catastrophe can happen," Mohammed told Reuters by phone.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Strong protests would be lodged with Myanmar over the incident, a Bangladesh government official and border guard official said.</p>

<p>Reportedly, the menacing-looking shark was discovered by a Sydney-based fisherman named Trapman Bermagui. He posted the photo of the beast on Facebook after reeling it in from a depth of 2,133 feet (650 metres) below the surface.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“In my deep-sea research, we have caught quite a few of them in the Gulf of Mexico and in the Bahamas. They are in the family Somniosidae, the sleeper sharks, the same family of the Greenland shark, but obviously a much smaller species,” Grubbs told Newsweek.</p>
