<p>In what comes as an unfortunate incident, the police in the US state of New Mexico fatally shot a man after responding to the wrong house during a domestic violence call. Describing the scene as 'chaotic', the police chief said the shooting took place before midnight on Wednesday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Farmington Police Department received a call around 11:30 PM for a domestic violence incident at 5308 Valley View Avenue. Upon reaching the location, the officers mistakenly approached 5305 Valley View Avenue instead of the address informed earlier.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Unsuspecting of the error, the officers knocked at the door, trying to announce themselves. However, upon receiving no response, they asked dispatch to contact the caller and get them to open the door.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Afterwards, the body camera footage showed that 52-year-old Robert Dotson, the homeowner opened the screen door armed with a handgun. The situation quickly took a turn for the worse as one of the officers fired at least one round of bullets from their official weapon, hitting Dotson.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Victim's wife responds to the skirmish</strong></h2>

<p>Hearing the skirmish, Dotson's wife, armed with another handgun, fired from the doorway. The officers took cover and retaliated with gunshots. However, after realising that individuals outside the residence were police officers, she put down the gun and came out, complying with the officer's commands.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Mr. Dotson suffered fatal injuries as a result of the shooting and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator. Mrs. Dotson, who was uninjured, has not been charged with a crime," read a statement by he police.</p>

<p>Farmington Police Chief Steve Hebbe accepted the mistake and said he was 'heartbroken by the circumstances' and that the body camera video will be released within a few days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The development comes a couple of weeks after Turkish President&nbsp;Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the extension of the deal. Hours before the agreement was set to expire on March 19, Erdogan in a televised address announced that the two parties sat across the table and agreed on the extension.</p>

<p>"Following talks with the two parties, we have assured the extension of the deal that was due to expire on March 19," said the Turkish president.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the report, approximately 3.3-3.6 billion people are “highly vulnerable” to climate change while increasing weather and climate extreme events have exposed millions of people to acute food insecurity and reduced water security.</p>

According to research, to reach the said target, 43 per cent of emissions will have to be cut by 2030 using 2019 as a baseline.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Despite the gloom, the IPCC report had one sliver of hope. It noted that the climate narrative was still being written and the rate of increase in greenhouse gas emissions between 2010-2019 was notably less than the rate of increase in the previous decade.</p>

<p>Moreover, in March, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a landmark resolution under which an opinion would be sought from the UN's highest court i.e. the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding legal obligations that nations are under to protect climate systems and people affected by it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A recent poll has found that Gen Z (ages 18-24) and Boomers (55+) are alright about having work wives while millennials (ages 25-34) disapprove of the concept. The poll was conducted by Redfield &amp; Wilton Strategies for Newsweek and surveyed 1,500 US adults about workplace relationships.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For the layman, work spouse is a phrase used to refer to a co-worker with whom there is a special relationship, mostly platonic in nature but akin to a bond seen in marriages. In the survey, 21 per cent of respondents said it was okay to have a work spouse while 45 per cent did not agree.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, the most fascinating results came from the different age groups. A whopping 61 per cent of GenZers felt having a work spouse was acceptable with only 39 per cent saying it was not okay. Similarly, 60 per cent of Boomers were cool with the concept. Meanwhile, millennials stood out from the rest.&nbsp;</p>

<p>57 per cent of adults between 25-34 said it was not acceptable to have a work spouse. Only 18 per cent thought it was alright to forge such close relations in the workplace while 17 per cent were on the fence saying it all depended on the circumstances.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Relationship expert Ceza Ouzounian told Newsweek that proper boundaries need to be set so that the situation does not become muddled, especially in a professional setting.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"If this relationship is a platonic relationship, there is nothing wrong with this type of relationship. A lot of people have close friendships with colleagues. It can however cause issues. <p><strong>RBI keeps repo rate unchanged:&nbsp;</strong>On Thursday, India's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) finally applied the brakes on increasing the repo rate by keeping it unchanged at 6.5 per cent. The pause came after the central bank had announced six hikes since May last year to a cumulative 250 basis points.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Presiding over the RBI Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said although the repo rate was unchanged, it could be altered should the situation warrant so.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“While we have kept the policy rate unchanged, this decision was taken based on our assessment of the macroeconomic and financial conditions with reference to information available up to today,” Das told the reporters after the meeting.&nbsp;</p>

The pause came after the central bank had announced six hikes since May last year to a cumulative 250 basis points. Presiding over the RBI Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said although the repo rate was unchanged, it could be altered should the situation warrant so. “While we have kept the policy rate unchanged, this decision was taken based on our assessment of the macroeconomic and financial conditions with reference to information available up to today,” Das told the reporters after the meeting. “Overall inflation is above the target and the current policy rate still remains accommodative. It is now necessary to evaluate the action of past rate hikes." It has projected the inflation to stand at 5.1 per cent and 5.4 per cent in Q1, Q2 respectively. Notably, worried due to the global indicators and increasing inflation, the MPC last year in an unscheduled meeting in May raised rates for the first time by 40 basis points. The trend continued in June, August and September when the committee increased repo rates by a combined 150 points. The last two hikes came in December 2022 and February 2023 with MPC hiking the rates by 35 basis points and 25 basis points respectively. Industry bodies cautioned that any further hike in the benchmark repo rate at this juncture would have affected India's economic growth even as domestic demand impulses remain healthy.
