<p>Former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan has admitted he has no evidence to back up his allegations against Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)'s Major-General Faisal Naseer during a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) session in Islamabad, Pakistani media reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the JIT session, held at the Islamabad office on Monday, Imran, in a signed statement admitted he had no proof of evidence regarding allegations that the ISI DGC had concocted plans of killing him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the hearing, Imran was shown clips where he was seen levelling the allegations against Major General Naseer. When quizzed if he owned the contents of the clip, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief replied in affirmative.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When pressed why he levelled the allegations, Imran said someone had told him about it, adding that he had never met Major General Naseer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Imran, time and again has accused Naseer, alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif&nbsp;and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, of carrying out an assassination attempt in November last year in Punjab province's Wazirabad, wherein he received three bullets in his leg.</p>

<p>He has alleged that the ‘top ISI officer’, who tried to kill him twice, was also involved in the brutal murder of the journalist, Arshad Sharif.</p>

Fox News warns Tucker Carlson against posting new videos on Twitter

<p>The warning comes a day after Supreme Court backed the Delhi government's ban on bike taxis. The government is of the view that bike taxis violate local city laws while cab aggregators have argued that the ban hurts the livelihood of its drivers.</p>

<p>The apex court on Monday overturned a Delhi High Court decision that allowed Rapido and Uber to continue operating without aggregator licenses up until a final policy had been announced.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Justices Aniruddha Bose and Rajesh Bindal of the vacation bench heard the case and overturned the HC order. The bench, however, gave the liberty to bike-taxi aggregators to request an urgent hearing of their pleas by the Delhi HC.</p>

<p>Senior Partner, AZB &amp; Partners representing&nbsp;Rapido&nbsp;Abhishek Awasthi said, "A vacation bench of the Supreme Court has stayed the Delhi High Court's Order dated May 26, 2023, which, inter alia, stayed the operation of the public notice issued by the Delhi Government on February 19, 2023, with a direction to Delhi High Court to decide the matter pending before it expeditiously. Roppen has already applied for an Aggregator License under the MORTH Guidelines issued in 2020 under Section 93 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 to the Delhi Government, since the Delhi Government has not framed any guidelines till&nbsp;date. Non transport vehicles (including two wheelers) are permitted to provide ride pooling under the MORTH Guidelines. The current draft guidelines issued by Delhi Government under Section 93, inter alia, permits the operation of bike taxi in GNCT of Delhi and also recognises the existing aggregators and further allows them to apply for license within given timeframe.”</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the Delhi government has assured that it will be framing guidelines and licensing policies for the bike aggregators by the end of July to regulate operations.</p>

<p>Earlier this year in February, the Delhi government, bringing down the sledgehammer, banned two-wheeler cab services provided by ride-hailing firms.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Delhi Transport Department issued a public notice stating that using private two-wheelers to carry passengers for hire violates Indian law. It said the bike taxis were operating without proper licenses or permits as required under Section 93 of the Motor Vehicles Act. It added that non-transport two-wheelers should not be used as taxis without a policy in place.</p>

<p>“It has come to light that that bike taxi service provided by Uber, Ola and Rapido have violated transport rules. Hence, the service has been by the city's transport department,” it said in the notice.</p>

<p>“It has been brought to the notice that two-wheelers having non-transport (private) registration mark/numbers are being used to carry passengers on hire which is purely commercial operation and a violation of Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.”</p>

Peace in our time? Nuclear weapons stockpile rising, says thinktank

<p>In what comes as another incident of shooting in the US, at least three persons were killed while several were injured on Sunday night at a house in the state of&nbsp;Maryland.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The shooting occurred at a private residence on the 1000 block of Paddington Place, between&nbsp;Edgewood Road and Kensington Way around 8 pm. According to&nbsp;Annapolis Police spokesperson Bernie Bennett, the encounter in the southeastern region of the city was a case of "domestic shooting" where multiple people were struck by gunfire.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The suspect and the victims appeared to know each other. The Baltimore Sun said it was a domestic dispute that turned awry.</p>

<p>Although the suspect was nabbed by the police, said Bennet and that one person was taken to a trauma centre, he could not confirm the number of fatalities.&nbsp;</p>

<p>City Police Chief Ed Jackson hinted there could be rise in the number of fatalities.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“We don’t get very many calls of this nature in this area,” said Jackson, adding that "no area if immune" to the widespread availability of handguns.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Cyclone Biparjoy is on its way to making landfall in the Kutch region of the western Indian state of Gujarat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the coastal regions. Videos of the cyclone already having an impact on the local ecology have gone viral on social media platforms.&nbsp;</p>

<p>One of the videos circulating is from Ganpatipule - a coastal town in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. It shows the sea swelling violently while the beachgoers are caught unaware.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The oblivious people can be seen enjoying their day out at the beach before being caught in the swelling sea tides. Many can be seen dragged into the sea by the current before the water eases. In another video, people can be seen running to a vantage position as the water gushes deep inside the beach with shops getting inundated with the water.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Experts have said the cyclone underwent rapid intensification twice during its lifecycle after it developed on June 7. Consequently, fishing has been banned across the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu till June 15.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Initial reports suggested that the cyclone and its wind speed may peak around 55 kilometres per hour (kmph). However, updated reports suggest that in the next three to four days, the harsh weather conditions might increase the wind speed to 160 kmph.&nbsp;</p>

<p>An hour before the service even began, people formed a long queue outside the 19th-century, neo-Gothic building to witness what the AI could deliver.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The chatbot's sermon majorly focused on themes surrounding leaving one's past behind, living in the present, not being afraid of death and maintaining faith in Jesus Christ. Notably, four different AI avatars took turns to impart the sermons and lead the service.&nbsp;</p>

It was part of&nbsp;&nbsp;Deutscher Evangelischer Kirchentag - a biennial event, much popular in this part of the world that attracts tens of thousands of devout Christians. This year's issues include climate change the war in Ukraine and AI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I conceived this service but actually I rather accompanied it, because I would say about 98% comes from the machine,” Simmerlein was quoted as saying by The Associated Press.</p>

<p>The scholar fed "Now is the time" - one of the slogans for this year's gathering to the chatbot and asked it to develop the sermon along these lines.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I told the artificial intelligence ‘We are at the church congress, you are a preacher… what would a church service look like?’” said&nbsp;Simmerlein who also&nbsp;asked for psalms to be included, as well as prayers and a blessing at the end.</p>

<p>“You end up with a pretty solid church service,” he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“There was no heart and no soul,” said, 54-year-old Heiderose Schmidt who works in IT. “The avatars showed no emotions at all, had no body language and were talking so fast and monotonously that it was very hard for me to concentrate on what they said.”</p>

<p>Even&nbsp;Simmerlein conceded that technology lacked the personal touch which differentiates it from humans.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The pastor is in the congregation, she lives with them, she buries the people, she knows them from the beginning. Artificial intelligence cannot do that. It does not know the congregation."</p>

<p>Since ChatGPT made news headlines last year, there is a consensus among clergy that technology can write a passable competent sermon but it can't replicate the passion of actual preaching.&nbsp;</p>
