<p>"Expansive access to data has impact and costs involved; we spend multi-millions of dollars on hosting fees and Reddit needs to be fairly paid to continue supporting high-usage third-party apps. Our pricing is based on usage levels that we measure to be comparable to our own costs."</p>

On Thursday, Schwartz appeared before the Manhattan federal court and profusely apologised to the judge for his unethical actions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Schwartz said he was "humiliated" and that his actions had brought personal and professional shame.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I would like to sincerely apologise to your honour, to this court, to the defendants, to my firm," said Schwartz during the hearing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I deeply regret my actions in this manner that led to this hearing today. I suffered both professionally and personally [because of] the widespread publicity this issue has generated. I am both embarrassed, humiliated and extremely remorseful," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Schwartz said he did not know the AI chatbot was capable of furnishing bogus citations.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I simply had no idea that ChatGPT was capable of fabricating entire case citations or judicial opinions, especially in a manner that appeared authentic. At the time that I performed the legal research in this case, I believed that ChatGPT was a reliable search engine. I now know that was incorrect," he wrote.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the judge said he would rule on whether to issue sanctions at a later date.</p>

<p>A man named Roberto Mata sued the airline Avianca, saying he was injured when a serving cart struck his knee on&nbsp;a flight to the Kennedy International Airport in New York. As per the lawsuit, Mata was a passenger on Aviance Flight 670 from El Salvador to New York on August 27, 2019, when an airline employee bonked him with the metal serving cart.&nbsp;</p>

On Thursday, Schwartz appeared before the Manhattan federal court and profusely apologised to the judge for his unethical actions. Schwartz said he was "humiliated" and that his actions had brought personal and professional shame. “I would like to sincerely apologise to your honour, to this court, to the defendants, to my firm," said Schwartz during the hearing. “I deeply regret my actions in this manner that led to this hearing today. I suffered both professionally and personally [because of] the widespread publicity this issue has generated. I am both embarrassed, humiliated and extremely remorseful," he added. Schwartz said he did not know the AI chatbot was capable of furnishing bogus citations. "I simply had no idea that ChatGPT was capable of fabricating entire case citations or judicial opinions, especially in a manner that appeared authentic. At the time that I performed the legal research in this case, I believed that ChatGPT was a reliable search engine. I now know that was incorrect," he wrote. A man named Roberto Mata sued the airline Avianca, saying he was injured when a serving cart struck his knee on a flight to the Kennedy International Airport in New York. As per the lawsuit, Mata was a passenger on Aviance Flight 670 from El Salvador to New York on August 27, 2019, when an airline employee bonked him with the metal serving cart. When Avianca asked a Manhattan federal judge to toss out the case, Mata's lawyers, which included Schwartz objected and submitted a 10-page brief in March that cited over half a dozen relevant court decisions. The brief cited Martinez v. Delta Air Lines, Zicherman v. Korean Air Lines, Varghese v. China Southern Airlines and a few other cases, according to the New York Times report which first carried the news. Additionally, more than 10 teams across mapping, monitoring, housing appraisal, and architectural design verticals from Beijing, Shanghai and Hebei have also been invited to carry out on-site monitoring work.</p>

<h2><strong>Attack confirmed by Egypt&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>The attack was confirmed by Egypt's environment ministry which posted a message on Facebook saying: "An attack by a tiger shark on a beachgoer... led to his death."</p>

<p>The ministry added it had captured the shark "to inspect it", adding the mammal displayed "abnormal behaviour... resulting in the incident".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Russian media reports stated that the man was with his girlfriend in the water swimming. While the man was caught in the clutches of the shark, the girlfriend managed to escape the spot unscathed.</p>

<p>“It happened in a second. Rescuers reacted very quickly. For some reason, I immediately felt that it was a shark. I immediately jumped up and started shouting: ‘Sharks, sharks! Save yourself!’ Nobody understood yet,” a witness was quoted as saying by Russian station REN-TV.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“It’s a terrible thing, the remains of this guy are over there. I’m shaking. Right in front of my eyes, the shark ate that guy. I think I need a drink. I feel really bad."</p>

<p>The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) released a public service announcement, cautioning men to avoid taking the pill.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Big Penis USA tablets pose a serious risk to your health and should not be taken,” the TGA said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The tablets contain the undeclared substance sildenafil.&nbsp;It may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels," it added, declaring the supply of the pill as illegal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sildenafil is a prescription-only drug, used to treat erectile dysfunction.&nbsp;If&nbsp;combined with certain prescription medicines, the dosage can be potentially fatal, the public health watchdog said.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>TGA joins forces with ABF</strong></h2>

<p>The TGA has joined forces with the&nbsp;Australian Border Force (ABF) to stop future shipments of Big Penis USA tables from entering the Down Under country.</p>

<p>"Big Penis USA tablets have not been assessed by the TGA for quality, safety or efficacy as required under Australian legislation, and the place of manufacture is not approved by the TGA."</p>

<p>The ABF will be seizing and destroying any Big Penis USA products that are intercepted at the border.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Previously, the US&nbsp;Federal Drug Administration had also issued a similar warning advisory about the Big Penis USA pills for the exact same reason. After examining the international mail shipments of the product, FDA found&nbsp;high, undisclosed amount of&nbsp;sildenafil in the pills.</p>

<p>"The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to purchase or use Big Penis Male Sexual Stimulant, a product promoted for sexual enhancement. This product was identified by FDA during an examination of international mail shipments," the health watchdog said in 2016.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The&nbsp;contractual staff of on-ground sales teams and third-party staffers, such as&nbsp;Randstad and Channelplay, are likely the ones to receive the axe. The news of Byju's laying off its employees comes days after it was revealed that the company had skipped quarterly interest payments of about $40 million on a $1.2 billion term loan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Byju's has been in a tight spot for the last one-and-a-half years. The company's online coaching business and its appeal have petered out as parents and children prefer offline modes of education.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Previous rounds of firings&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Despite having a war chest in funding, Byju's has been on a firing spree. In February earlier this year, it laid off nearly 1,500 employees across design, engineering, and production verticals.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The layoffs followed an earlier round in October 2022 when contracts of over 2,500 employees were terminated, sending shockwaves across the ed-tech sector. <h2><strong>What do we know about the attacker?</strong></h2>

<p>According to French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, the attacker is a 31-year-old Syrian national who was granted asylum in Sweden 10 years ago.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Borne said the attacker arrived in France legally as he was carrying Swedish identity documents plus a Swedish driving licence. Despite being a 'homeless' and an 'isolated individual', the attacker had sought asylum in France.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, owing to the bureaucratic work involved, his asylum request had not been processed so far. Borne said it was because he already had refugee status in Sweden. Notably, it was due to his&nbsp;EU refugee status that he&nbsp;was allowed to freely and legally travel to France before undertaking the deadly massacre.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Security sources and his ex-wife told AFP that he was recently divorced and in his early 30s.</p>

<p>"He called me around four months ago. He was living in a church," the ex-wife said on condition of anonymity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This was the second attempt in the Japanese parliament to get the bill cleared. The previous attempt in February 2021 had to be abandoned&nbsp;amid a public outcry over the death of 33-year-old Sri Lankan asylum seeker named&nbsp;Ratnayake Liyanage Wishma Sandamali.</p>

<p>Sandamali, reportedly died in an immigration detention centre as subsequent investigations revealed that officers intentionally denied her request for provisional release. Moreover, the officers believed that she was faking her illness to get out.&nbsp;</p>
