Kuwaiti Emir&nbsp;Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah was taken to hospital on Wednesday (November 29) after an emergency surrounding his health, state news agency KUNA reported. In&nbsp;its report, KUNA quoted an official who said that Sheikh Nawaf was taken to hospital in order “to receive the necessary treatment and conduct medical examinations”.

It has previously been reported that the emir made a trip to US in March 2021 for medical reasons. There are no details available.

Sheikh Nawaf became the emir of Kuwait in September 2020 after his half-brother, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah passed away in the US. He was 91 years old.

The&nbsp;North's parliament and regional councils serve as a rubber stamp to the ruling Workers' Party, with their elections usually registering over 99 per cent&nbsp;voter turnout.

"Although the Holy Father's general clinical picture has improved with regard to his flu-like condition and inflammation of the respiratory tract, doctors have asked the Pope not to make the trip planned for the coming days to Dubai," Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement.&nbsp;

"Pope Francis accepted the doctors' request with great regret and the trip is therefore cancelled," Bruni said.&nbsp;

However, the Vatican said that Francis still wished to contribute to the discussions and would look into the ways this could be done remotely.

The study claimed that more than 800,000 people die every year due to working for more than 55 hours a week. Of the 2.96 million people who died due to excessive work, 2.6 million died due to diseases derived from employment.

The rest 330,000 deaths came from work accidents.

The other risks involved exposure to gases and smoke (450,000 deaths), work-related injuries (363,283), exposure to asbestos (209,481), silica (42,258), substances that cause asthma (29,641), solar ultraviolet radiation (17,936), diesel engine exhaust fumes (14,728), arsenic (7,589), and nickel (7,301) according to the figures for 2016.

The study links occupational risks to disability-adjusted life years (DALYS). Work-related injuries (26.44 million) pose the greatest threat to workers' life years, followed by exposure to over 55 work hours (23.26 million), ergonomic factors (12.27 million), and exposure to smoke and gases (10.86 million).&nbsp;

<h2>'Poor nutrition and solitary confinement'&nbsp;</h2>

Israeli hostages have not spoken directly to the media about the conditions they were kept in. The hospitals have been asked to not reveal any details about the hostages and their experiences.&nbsp;

But some details are emerging. As quoted by the news agency AFP, Ronit Zaidenstein, head of the medical team at Shamir Medical Centre where 17 released Thai nationals were treated, said they had been fed "very unnutritious food" in captivity.&nbsp;

"The people who came to us lost a significant amount of their body weight in such a short time - 10 per cent or more."&nbsp;

Margarita Mashavi, a doctor at Wolfson Medical Centre, which is one of the main facilities caring for freed hostages, said those she spoke to described being kept several stories underground. The remarks came in an interview which is now taken offline.

The patient said her meals consisted of "rice, canned hummus and fava beans, and sometimes salted cheese with pita, but not more than that. No fruit, no vegetables, no eggs," she said.&nbsp;

"Even when they asked for a pencil or pen to write in order to pass the time, the Hamas men didn't allow it because they were afraid they would transmit information in writing, so they were without television or reading, and therefore passed the time only in conversation with one another," Mashavi said.&nbsp;

"The people who came to us lost a significant amount of their body weight in such a short time - 10 per cent or more." Margarita Mashavi, a doctor at Wolfson Medical Centre, which is one of the main facilities caring for freed hostages, said those she spoke to described being kept several stories underground. Finland, youngest NATO ally, seals all its border crossings with Russia

Pope Francis has removed some of the Vatican privileges of conservative American Cardinal Raymond Burke, including a large subsidised apartment and his salary, a senior Vatican official said on Tuesday.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, participated in a regular Vatican meeting when the pope made the announcement to senior aides last week.

He quoted the pope as saying that Burke, one of pope's fiercest critics, was "working against the Church and against the papacy" and that he had sown "disunity" in the Church.

Burke has had no senior Vatican job for years. His is a consultant to one of its tribunals, as are numerous cardinals who live outside Rome, and spends most of his time in his native state of Wisconsin.

The official who was at the meeting denied media reports that Francis had called the 75-year-old Burke "an enemy".

Burke is a hero to traditionalists in the Church, particularly in the United States, where he is often a guest on conservative Catholic media outlets that have made criticism of the pope a mainstay of their operations.

The move by Francis was his second involving a conservative American prelate this month.

On Nov. 11, the pope dismissed another conservative critic, Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, after Strickland refused to step down following a Vatican investigation.

While conservatives are a minority in the Church, they have significant clout in advanced countries such as the United States, in part because of their link to conservative politics.

Burke has been opposing the pope's reforms almost from the start.

In 2014, a year after Francis was chosen, the pope removed Burke as head of a Vatican tribunal and moved him to a largely ceremonial post several days after Burke said the Church under Francis was "like a ship without a rudder".

Most recently, in October, Burke was one of five cardinals who openly challenged a global month-long Vatican meeting, known as a synod.
