China has launched the world's fastest internet network, capable of transmitting data at a rate of 1.2 terabits per second (Tbps) . The network spans 3,000 kilometres from Beijing to Guangzhou and was built by Huawei Technologies Co., China Mobile Ltd., Tsinghua University, and research provider Cernet.com Corp.
