Why did British Army Chief ask citizens to be ready to fight the war against Russia?
The British Army's top official alerted the nation. General Patrick Sanders asked citizens to be ready to serve in the military in the event of a war with Russia as Britain has limited military capacity to manage such a confrontation independently. He called for Britain to train a “citizen army” ready for a land war.
